  • Using a simple saw mill to make square beams, and comparing the cutting speed of the Husqvarna 353 with the Stihl MS 210 and the Stihl MS 660.
    The aim of this video is to show that smaller, cheaper chainsaws can still be effective for small scale chainsaw milling and that it is possible for domestic chainsaw users to mill their own timber for building their own rustic structures.

    Thanks Jake. The feeling when you create your first bit of useable timber is really something I want to share. It’s such a creative and positive thing. Then you start thinking about all of the possibilities this new found ability opens up ......

    Not quite sure how to do that but it was an unbranded item on eBay for just over £50. They are often referred to as Beam mills. Some of them allow the saw to pivot but I think this one is more accurate. A
