Sorry guy i havent posted much I got a girl friend. She supports it but you know how it is. I have been doing some boring stuff but I should be back soon.
@@southerngearz oh I see how it is. Ditch us for a woman. LoL just kidding, I know the power they hold over us. We all buckle sooner or later. So when we gonna see her turning wrenches on old Earl. Have a great summer.
@@zacnicolai8125 haha right! Should be soon I got all the fuel system ready but funny thing I lost the keys to earl so I had to go push to start. Got that stuff in yesterday and I went ahead and got my ecu prepared for the turbos and speed density. Im hoping this week since she has been pushing for me to work on earl more. She wants ride in earl luckily she is a car person.
I'm thinking about using gen4 rods with STD flat top pistons, for a stock 5.3 would 6.098in rods work ? Im worried it will be unbalanced how can I check that? And will 706 heads support that? I have so many questions lol.
Yea those rods will work they will be a floating pin setup instead of tbe usualy press in pin. You will want to make sure the flat top pistons are floating pin as well. You can weight them with a scale that goes up to 1000g and weight each one and weight each piston then combine them to make it as balanced as possible. 706 heads will work just fine they flow fantastic just watch out for the castech heads that some 5.3l's came with they are prone to cracking.
My 5.3 lm7 block, crank, and rods are at the machine shop they're going to take it to a 5.7, then going with ls1 pistons and 862 heads. Finally started taking apart the 89 s10. The shop promised me 500 hp but I guess we'll see when she's all tunes out but that's a long way from now.
Truck is coming along nicely, thanks for the update!
Thanks i wish I had more time and money it would probably be done by now.
@@southerngearz we do what we can, it’s gonna be cool when your done!

Depends on if they mean 500hp for the engine I can see that. It will be like 400ish hp at the wheels which will be pretty fun in a light s10
@Southern Gearz ya 500 to the crank
@Southern Gearz end goal will either be supercharger or turbo charger after I get used to n/a
