Torque Converter Air Gap Explained & New Jegs Fuel Rails | LS Swapped S10
Просмотров 638Год назад
Today we go over torque converter air gap and install new JEGS High flow Fuel Rails. Its pretty simple when it comes to the air gap. You want 1/16-3/16 Gap between the pad and flexplate. this is with the torque converter as far toward the pump as possible. If the gap we are looking for is present then we can slide it forward and bolt it down. If not shim and then bolt down. Enjoy!

Sometimes you got to pay someone who has the skills lesson learned
@@southerngearz I think you just need a proper DA polisher and your good!
Could you clean pistons instead of getting new ones
why do we keep hearing gun shots?
Good question
Are there any disadvantages to not installing the cover you took off ?
I hate wiring but I’m glad I found your video here! Thanks a ton!
I have a 2001 silveradoo the hole where the transmission line screws n at the top is striped out do thoses can be taken out and replaced
If its the threads on the radiator then no im pretty sure
Man you made it work, that’s all that matters, you didn’t pay someone else to do it, you did fine, a lot of folks caint even do what you done, just keep at it, you are working with what you got and making it work, 👍🏻
Why are you rebuilding the motor they usually unless someone ran it with no oil or something the bearings are usually in pristine condition even on a 200 thousand mile junkyard motor the cylinders have the cross hatch still and i understand that the best thing to do is not touch the bottom end at all when you do its not as good as the robots at gm did it for some reason they just torque all the bolts in the right sequence and the right numbers that they last basically forever if it has good oil pressure its a decent amount of money that could be saved w out touching it and if its not broke why fix it right go with this acronym KISS keep it simple stupid .. put that bottom end money towards a cam and timing set and a set of valve springs and from what ive been told thats all thats needed of course headers and whatever else your gonna do but send it just like it is and it will last a very long time posibly even longer than the one someone has been in the bottom end on idk why either.. you would think new bearings would make it better but the one w some miles on it has been broken in and is just loose enough to be rode hard and put away wet and live. A long life lol
This was incredibly helpful got this doggown 87 S10 Blazer a couple weeks back 2.8 been struggling with the healights turn signals and parking lamps theyd all turn on with varying success but I'd blow bulbs and such
My 2002 Chevy 3500 lb7 won’t shift either. I’m praying this is all it is.
- where’s the CRZ!? How’s she doing!?
She is still there the owner has not had the motivation to finish her yet but i have been working on that. You should see her very soon if I can help it
French fies should go or atleast both them should have them
i got some flashark headers. fit great except one very important detail...they dont clear the brake lines on the passenger side. i rerouted my brake, fuel lines and the parking brake. this is with zero body lift. i took a hammer and beat the firewall in lmao. all this to POSSIBLY have a rear turbo setup
Do I have to take the whole headlight out?
There are some that say you dont but i removed the headlight.
I love GM quality! It’s my bread and butter for my high lifestyle! Raking in the money like crazy with the newer stuff. Damb, I’m going to be a billionaire when I retire in 8 years!
Gotta love AFM/dod/DFM, had a ton of problems with shutting off 4 cylinders so they go ahead and randomly shut off all 8 with the new DFM. I've had to rebuild so many gen 4 and 5 LS/lt engines it's ridiculous, yet I have 2 gen 3s with 320k+ on em
What brand control arm did you use?
Binging this build lol doing a dawned good job can't wait to do mine though ima try and keep ac cruise and all the factory functions
Looks good Thx!
Turn to Jesus people, he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved, if you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live by his teachings. God bless you all in Jesus name
Do shave ur exhaust cam trigger?
Thank you! You just saved us time and money!
I have a 93 Silverado and same problem here it would move go in reverse and forwards but the rpm would just go up. The speedometer would not move at all and the truck won’t shift into gear.
Never got back to it😢life got in the way
If you know how to work a welder, why would you spend 300 on a transmission crossmember..why not just make one
They had it all worked out and I also wasnt that confident in making one at the time. I have simce swapped to a 4l80e and made my own that time since I was a bit more confident.
I'd rather not cut the frame...but I'm using a 92 s10 blazer 4x4 but I'm not keeping the front diff for now so that will give me a lot of room..when I go back to 4x4 I'll be solid axle swapping it
Can you post the link for the 3 piece headers I need them asap
thats the nice thing its DIY nobody knows that or cares and it looks better than original - less mess/$$$!!
Bmw sounds like a ricer lol
It really did
What’s the part number
Thank you I been having no fuel cutoff occur either in my truck and its not taking. My only theory so far is that since it wants WOT maybe I didn't floor it
Hi I'm going to do a swap in my 1986 S-10 just wondering if this trans clears the floor without mods?
Did you have to use the scan tool in the beginning before draining? I have an X7 and understand the tool opens up a closed compartment to get all the oil out.
Good video buddy
I painted my rims used primer first then paint but they feel a little rough not smooth. Any idea why or what can i do to smooth them out?
I went to video through video on RUclips, and this person made my night because I was trying to get this piece out, and no one mentioned it about taking the bracket out to make the stuck axle out. Thank you so much
Awsome vid, connected 👋

Sounds like it will be mean
Love your channel bro!!!!
Thanks guy
somehow this video poped up in my recomendations with my morning coffee. what I do with new oil pumps is before you install it take some of the permatex ultra slick assembly lube and pour it into the oil pump pickup and turn the gears by hand to work it into the pump. It will stay in the pump and then it will self prime the first time you go to crank it.
Thats a good idea
So I commented 8 days ago when I was demoralized from this bolt. I couldn’t figure it out. Well I took a saw zaw (however u spell it) and I cut one deep line perpendicular to the starter. Then hammered that bitch out. It worked. I was victorious. Car started as well. You go from no hope to manic joy. Love working on cars lol
Haha hell yea guy glad it worked out for you!
He struck oil! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😂
There she blows!
Don't say always
At the moment my father’s BMW n54 is sitting in his driveway. I stripped the motherf****** bolt head. Of course. I heard all the warnings. I just didn’t get it. Now I’m going to do this but I just can’t see how you guys cut so cleanly against the block. The actual angle and position of the cutting I mean. But dude either way thank you for posting this. It’s crucial..crucial info.
So I have a question so 2 cans of spray and u wanna sand first then use a de greaser then u think I should use a certain spray for longer lasting after like a after coat don’t know what’s it’s called get paid this week so wanna be ready super excited and kinda nervous don’t wanna ruined my wheels
If you sand it make sure to take your time and then clean as good as you can. If you do that the paint will stick. You can add a clear coat if you want that added protection. I didnt use clear coat and mine are still holding up after 4ish years or whatever it has been.
@@southerngearz okay thank u so much don’t really have anyone to ask not even my dad lmao 😂 he hates me but thank u so much i appreciate it
@xKingG666 no problem guy thats what im here for to answer question.
Can you tell me how to wire the silverado insterment cluster back into the factory fuse box its a 2003 chevy silverado everything i put it all in a 1978 f100 insterment cluster and all i just don't know how to wire it back in . If you can help it would be greatly appreciated
Sweet
did you put sticky side of tape against the seals or away from? I have to do this over the weekend. I heard about the tape method but always thought the stickiness of the tape would pull on the seals when you took the tape off if you didn't do sticky side out.
Painters tape is a low tack so it wont pull them out
Cold start on my 6.0 is at 70lbs then smooths out to 45lbs
