- This car audio amplifier made by infinity was the largest amplifier i had tested so far.
It features six channels : 4 channels for fronts and rears and two additional subwoofer channels !

In diesem Video wird ein oldschool auto hifi verstärker einem Leistungstest unterzogen, verschiedene Testmethoden wurden benutzt um die Ausgangsleistung dieser Infinity Endstufe zu ermitteln.
Diese Endstufe besitzt insgesamt sechs kanäle , vier für vorn und hinten und zusätzlich zwei weitere Kanäle für Subwoofer alle brückbar!

I have several of these Infinity reference amps. I have this one in the video, I also have a 7541a brand new in the box. I also have BNIB a 7520a, and a 310a.

Infinity is still making top quality amplifiers and subwoofers and speakers also the sister brand JBL is making quaility products aswell.
From my memory I know the infinity kappa stuff from early or mid 2000 (?) had a pair of component 8” woofers with green or blue cone 🤔
@@audiokeller1975correct the kappa series used a teal looking color on their poly cones. I used to run 4 12 inch infinity kappa perfect subs those was the best sq car subwoofer I had ever heard and they was very high power they handled 1500 RMS no problems infinity kappa perfect 12.1 I believe is the model they was like a pearl white cone they also had a few versions it was a 300 dollar subwoofer.
Man u get ur hands on some really really rare amps. I love infinity i had the infinity kappa k 1000 and dynamically i got 1800! And rms 1550 if u can get the sister brand jbl their amps do way more that rated especially the 550.1 and 551.1 mini full bridge rated 500-550 and does around 1300 dynamic power.
I didn’t know that this amp is really rare, I have almost no infos about this one- I had to google it but after opening the amp I was impressed - nice build quality 👍
Great amplifier from days gone by
Got one that is faulty. I wish I'd get it fixed. Can't remember the specifics but it kinda powers on with the LED's lighting up. One resistor (R291) heats up quickly. There should be -15 V on the other leg but it shows just -2.5 V. IIRC, the other side has a proper voltage. Would need some serious mentoring and new soldering tools and a scope... I already have a bunch of amplifiers that need diagnosing and repairing. Including two cheap class D PA-amps and a Vincent SV-388.
Also another cheap a/d/s (not the "original brand") car amplifier that had a really badly melted/burned ground connector, but after some "physical fixes" and cleanup it sounds like it's doing something when trying to power it up. It has no clearly burned components inside, though surely broken ones. The sound it makes is odd, like a stepper motor or an actuator buzz. Some components heat up quickly when repeating the power up enough times.
Audiokeller i have a mini DSO 18 mhz o scope can u explain how i can do dyno tests like u do on ur scope i been using the input voltage and ac output voltage of the amp method and wanna use my scope.
You need some power resistors with low inductance and connect it to your amps output, also the scope has to be connected to your output, set time base correct and voltage division. You need a x10 measure- tip for higher voltages , I don’t know the voltage range of your scope
@@audiokeller1975 my voltage range is 400 volts and I have the big green ceramic resistors I can wire from 8 ohms down to 1/4 ohm .25 and the resistors are very low resistance type.
When i do my power tests or to just run a sub amp for my bass room i use a high amperage computer psu so my voltage is always 12.25 volts and i have 120 amps of power so my results are sometimes lower .
You can go with computer PSU but for amplifiers I would recommend big and heavy psu with some bigger caps in it. They were made especially for car audio presentation.
@@audiokeller1975 yeah I know I have the PSU running to agm battery bank of 2 with 250 amp hours total and my agm bank will only charge up to about 11.6 11.8 volts right now I'm trying to figure out how to do a mod where I can raise the output voltage up to 15 or 16 volts I'm doing my research on it and also just looking for a power supply made to run high power car amps in ur home I know taramps stetsom and power bass makes some nice ones but they do cost a lot 200 -500 dollars
