Jeremy Strong is such an incredibly generous human being. I look for him in films, now, where I may have missed him in secondary roles as well as in staring roles. He's just so brilliant.
I most remember him from "The Big Short"
he was excellent and very moving in the Judge as well!
He’s fabulous in The Gentlemen, he gives sorta Kendall vibes in that one.
I love looking back at actors who are now successful and watching their secondary roles in the past. I find such performances can be a source of inspiration.
@Shadow I saw that one immediately. GREAT film!
Jeremy might be a serious guy, but seems like a real genuine good guy.
Thanks for a great character and show.
Why are you saying as if serious was not that good? Maybe he is serious here but with his private entourage he can be funny, goofy and all.
Forreal. I never understood the backlash from that one interview he did. He should take it serious!! Its a serious show with a lot of comedy in it.
Succession was my introduction to Jeremy, He's fantastic
Still not over that ending. One of the greatest actors of our time. Can't wait to see what he masters next.
Agree!
I really respect Jeremy's devotion to whatever he is doing. He embodies the character to a degree even other actors might find weird, but that's because he doesn't believe in half measures. He was given a role, and he becomes the role. As simple as that
Yes. And actors have different ways how to do their jobs. Important is the result.
His voice is so soothing
Jeremy is one of those fewest and finest actors that have created a character who would go down in TV history as, like he is saying in this interview, some of the most tragic anti-heroes. Other examples are Tony Soprano or Walter White. "Disaster in slow motion" is a very, very accurate description for Kendall. I don't know from where he managed to access the emotional resources to play such a difficult character, but he was just amazing. He was amazing throughout 4 seasons. Hats off!
I was also thinking as James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano....
A show like Succession keeps you on the edge of your seat, Intense acting
Yea man that ending made sense, dramaturgically. But for real, his performance will go down as one of the best in tv history.
10/10 performance - thank you Jeremy, just breathtaking stuff
Jeremy Strong was revelation to me. Kendall Roy is one of the most difficult characters ever. He is believable in all shades of Kendall, everything happpens on his face or even in his eyes. Absolute brilliance!
I adore him. I love his earnestness, how he takes things seriously, and loves books and art, but has such a gentle vibe.
Jeremy Strong is a fantastic actor. I love watching his work. He’s seems like a very genuine person. What a great interview!!! ❤
Bravo! Jeremy Strong. I have come to love Kendall Roy and I was pulling for him to finally succeed, to be that "cog" that only fits one machine.
I must admit, I was kind of excited to see him go sit in Logan's chair...
He's amazing. He deserves win Emmy!
I thought Jeremy was suddenly going to talk about blue jeans.
Wow what an informative piece about Levi’s
Jeremy’s versatility is amazing. From The big short to The Gentleman and to Succession crazy character differences (for example) is extraordinary
He’s an intense wonderful man. And sexy in ways I can’t describe. Also eloquent.
you're a man huh?
i'm rooting for Jeremy Strong future projects and Oscar winning someday 💯
Yes, if there's any justice in the world!
Jeremy Strong’s performance in Succession is outstanding in every season. Although Kendall Roy may not be perfect, but he’s my favorite character on the show.
Remember him singing "Honesty"? My GOD!
@@cerealkiillar Jeremy does have a good voice! I’m so attached to Kendall Roy lol. He always has a tragic and sad ending every time 🥲
Great interview! Absolutely loved watching Succession. The storyline & actors were all absolutely amazing! I wish there are plans for a sequel!
He is a serious person
Superb actor. Massively put himself in the top tv characters of all time
Oh his acting amazing I wouldn’t say the character is one of the greatest ever though🤷♂️but he was a good character for sure
Him playing Kendall, had to have taken a toll on him. A character that was always stressed and borderline manic. Such an incredible actor! Hope to see him play many more characters
just look at the before and after pictures
@@stockholmpublishings2937 They spent like 7 years on Succession. Everyone changes In 7 years.
@@blackcat2628zd so what?
love Jeremy Strong, keep doing good work. i watched show because of interest of what going to happen with Kendall. thank you to giving to the world this character.
The Big Short, m8. He caught my attention in that. Not much screen time but very impactful
I don't care what method actors use as long as the performance is good and they didn't hurt anybody. I think it paid off, because Jeremy Strong appears emotionally sensitive, which I think reflects positively in his performance as Kendall.
So hard for us to let Kendall go 😢…Bravo #succession
Thank you!
Thank you to both the jeremy for giving us a fabulous show. 🙏🏻
This Man ❤🎉 👏🏽 brilliant. I could listen to him forever ☺️ .
Same - I love listening to his nerdy chat. And I love his voice and cadence.
This is why all kids should have an opportunity to be exposed to the theater- acting, directing, music. It allows the best of humanity to shine.
His ability to express Kendals feelings without words is fantastic
I freaking love him!! And his voice...my God
🤩✨Jeremy Strong is on the rise… tho not mentioned, his role as M.B. in The Gentlemen is amaZing! Love his body of work… can’t wait to see whatever he does next. ✨THANK 🌷🌻🌹✨ for this. 🙏🏽💞💕💕
Wishing all the wonderful things for Jeremy strong and the entire cast and crew
I'm not concerned with how he gets there, but his performance has been incredible, the series doesn't work without his performance, the same as the Sopranos doesn't work without James Gandolfini. Strong's performance has easily matched that. Incredible stuff, amazing writing, beautifully performed all round.
Totally agree.
4:40 This is really moving, and one thing that made the show so successful. All of the stuff about business and being the CEO is just on the surface, the real story is about family like he said, wanting to leave a mark on the world, finding your identity and generational trauma
You killed it, Jeremy! Well done all the way!
Jeremy is soooo Sensible , Down to Earth , i like him as Kendall and as Jeremy❤❤❤
Love this man great actor and style ❤️👏🙏🇬🇧
I watched the final show and I was not surprised by the ending.
❤❤❤❤ " Succesión" The Best , magnificent Acting, an Extraordinary Argument , Nooooo Yes do 5 season!!!!!
It’s crazy that he’s such a good actor that he seems like he’s acting here, and not the other way around .
i enjoyed this more than i thought. he is an interesting figure, hope to see more of him in the future. it is unfortunate that there seemed to be a couple of bullies in the cast
Tremendous respect for Jeremy Strong, to be completly honest I had no idea who he was, even thought I have seen parts of the big movies he's been a part of. But after watcing succession and some of his interviews I think we can expect trully great things from him.
that's my boy, my number one boy...
Im not hating in the guy as Im an actor from Boston as well. However ive worked along said many actors specifically in the theater and he seems like the ones who seek a bit of attention but purposefully forcing odd behaviors. For example if watch this interview and read his wikipage.. he claims he grew up in a really rough part of Boston. Jp to exact. In fact JP is and has never been that rough. Its a bit artisty and the pond is beautiful. I lived there in my youth for a bit and it was perfect safe compared to brighton, Brockton, Dorcestor, Malden etc. But the fact that he tried to say he grew up in a bad area is a lie. Hate that. Hes doing it to purposely try to give a rough edge to his acting image
Our #1 boy!
our number 1 boy
Fantastic actor
Modern day Michael corleone 👏🏻💯💯
😃 501s... best jeans EVER!! EVER, EVER, EVER.
Love him in the Big Short
I would really like Jesse Armstrong to go the Michael Mann “Heat 2” novel route. Write a book about the continuing saga of the Roy family years down the road. Armstrong doesn’t need to bring everyone physically together for another TV season or even a movie. Bring the characters back in a book. I promise you it’ll be a bestseller.
Why'd they randomly start talking about jeans? lmao
First, I love #BenMankowitz!
I so enjoyed Jeremy Strong and the whole of Succession. And I don't know how he does it--I'd heard of people going into the depths of depression from writing papers on Sylvia Plath.
Kendall deserved the crown. Would have been more satisfying.
I don’t think he did. But his father instilled that idea in his head since age 7. It was his father who gave him false hope
@@ajfrigoletto6286 True. I just think a story of redemption & the three siblings emerging from under the shadow of Logan to somewhat unify. Would have been a far more satisfying ending. Shiv seemingly being ruled by emotion & insecurity by handing the throne to the least serious person. Who used/shafted her & was partly to blame for their father's death was senseless. The ending of Kendall looking out across the water defeated just didn't sit right. The implication was he had nothing left to live for. Bit of a bummer of an ending.
@@sugarman4354 it would’ve been more satisfying, yes, but this show is not meant to be satisfying. In it’s entirety it drives forth uncomfortability, frustration, anger, and deep dissatisfaction. It would not be true to the show or to Kendall’s character for him to win in the end. He’s a tragic anti hero who’s doomed to never be satisfied.
What makes actors great is not only great acting, but making the characters they play seem completely different from themselves and other characters they have played. Jeremy’s character is so different in the big shirt compared to his character in succession. Even though it’s the same actor, you don’t see even one thing in common between those characters.
Kendall Roy is the new Walter White in the pop culture
kendall is bojack horseman in human body lol
@@moonchiId.yeah it feels like Kendall is quietly broken like Bojack. Walter White is just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode bombastically
I found that New Yorker piece to be incredibly disrespectful, especially considering how much Jeremy opened up to the writer, even inviting him to spend time with his family… It seemed like the writer hedged some sort of grudge against Jeremy? Or like he was jealouse of him? It felt really strange anyway.
Strong is like if all of the cringey, motivational poster-worthy stuff that came from Kendall were actually backed up by genuine emotion and heart. Wholesome af imho.
Wow! idol. 👍
I only knew Ben Mankiewicz from TYT 😅
Surprised to see him here
This kind of hosts are aliens to me, man. (I'm from Spain, ours are more human-like)
As his wearing ken's necklace...
Why is the blue pants infomercial in the Extended interview of a vry good actor who nearly only wears suits (some of them track). I can't really tember him in blue pants
emmy sweep incoming
3:21- Kendall’s jacket 😬😬👏🏻
He seems like a guy that would join a cult or start one.
Feel like i would completely go incoherent if i ever met him he’s just so hot
I think he could play a good anti hero or villain
I will tell my husband to do that, but I doubt that he will listen to me! Talking about the 501s, off course!
I mean this full heartedly. F*CK Shiv. Kendall was amazing 👏 and bravo to Jeremy
❤
Interviewer is digging at his childhood ? Why... Talk about his work , not his past. Also do not interrupt the man, we're not here to listen to you.
Why couldn't he name one singular activity that he did with his wife? "Rom-coms?" Really?
I miss Charles Kuralt.
He's a bit much
In a world where people are too little
The ending was trash but Jeremy was great
The ending was the way it had to b, they weren’t able to handle it.
The same ole story
I flipped burgers
WHO doesn’t!
He got a break
Congratulations
Enough, change that narrative
He acts just like Kendall in real life. Seems like he phoned it in
Sorry but this whole method acting really is pretentious. I think they use it as an excuse to mistreat cast and crew on set. Absolutely pretentious. To his fans, settle down, it’s just my opinion. That’s all it is, an opinion.
Jeremy wasn’t mistreating anyone. He self-isolated on set rather than goof around with the rest of the cast, and some seemed to take it personally. None of them have said he did anything to them
Last season super boring and redundant…overrated for sure
Calm down, Jeremy. Kendall is not that iconic.
Definitely is
He's very very iconic lad
Easily the best acted character in one of the best acted series of all time, pretty iconic in my eyes
Iconic character and iconic actor. Just the best nowadays!!!
stfu he's the new jesus
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, I’m putting every other streaming service on notice right now, officially, when the time comes that money gets tight, there is no doubt in my mind whatsoever, hbo/hbo max/max/m whatever, is the ONLY channel that’s getting my money every month. Not just this show, they even have shows I hate, but I’m telling y’all right now, max is the one service you will always find something on, all day every day, it’s not even close 💯
You can tell he’s trapped in the character
