Alex McCarthy from talkSPORT is back with another awesome interview, this time with the 39 time 24/7 Champion R-Truth. Truth tells a great story about Paul Heyman betting him he couldn't make Brock Lesnar laugh in the ring, working with The Rock in Madison Square Garden, the creative freedom he has to entertain as the 24/7 champion and more. R Truth is the best comedy mid-card player of 2020. Hopefully, he gets the Santino Marella treatment & gets to go out on top. He most definitely deserves it. Future Hall of Famer for sure.
agreed! and even though the 24/7 championship is very different than others (besides the hardcore title) the fact that he has the most title reigns, almost makes it a must now.. this man is a great worker and entertainer as is, they just needed a reason to solidify him and thats just what the 24/7 championship has done
I wish they would give Truth a world title run before he retires. The man doesn't age, he's hilarious with improvisation, super talented and the fans love him. Honestly, who would complain about Truth winning the world title? Even if it isn't a long run, I think he deserves it. That 24/7 title was DOA and he turned it into a highlight of each show and truly elevated it on his own mainly outside of the ring with his social media. Brock even wants to work with him!
@@leowato4392 nah, he deserves a win. Hell they let a damn 10 year old win the tag titles. The run doesn't have to be long but if we can be led to believe that Flair and Hogan can be competition in their 60's/70's, certainly Truth is competition for whoever is champ at the time. I'd love if he beat Orton since Orton thinks he's better than everyone in real life.
@@wrestlingwithart bro have you heard that set it off song he made listen to that song and imagine him as a heel walking out with the wwe championship with that song
The fact that Brock was still laughing in the guerrilla position and wanted to work with truth just shows that truth is one of the funniest and coolest dudes ever.
Just imagine truth finds Brock lesnars house and hides in there to try to retain his title. Or even crazier he’s in the crowd in a AEW show eating popcorn 😂
I don't watch much of the modern product, but Truth's 24/7 segments are amazing. I'd love to see him show up on different shows or interfere with other matches. God that would be hilarious!
R Truth is a first ballot hall of famer. The dude manages to find a way to work with whatever is given to him, no matter how insane. He and Santino are like, the top comedy wrestlers of the 2000s imo. They were so good at taking things that would be absolutely horrendous in others hands and making it decent if not good or great.
@@tazdivil6527 yeah. Vince loves truth. They bonded over they comedic stuff that truth does and the fact that truth is up to try whatever they give him to do. Truth is a funny dude and just wants to perform for people.
R-Truth has been with WWE forever! I remember seeing him as K-Kwik back in the day. This man really deserves a major push for all the hardcore dedication he’s put into the company.
WWE Audience: "By god, Charlotte is going to hold the women's championship like 50 times. How will they find a way to beat that?" WWE Creative: "We'd like to introduce the 24/7 title."
Damn. Brock wanting to work with Truth. That's saying something about this man. R-Truth is legendary. That promo of wanting to throw Paul Heyman over the top rope's gotta be the funniest promo segment of the decade.
The fact I love more about R-Truth is that he had a rough life before wrestling, if I'm not wrong he even went to jail, and now he has a great career and he is being entertaining
I know a lot of people hate all the 24/7 championship segments and how R-Truth is a joke etc, but this is what R-Truth at the core nowadays is....an entertainer. Every 24/7 championship segment I've seen has me chuckling or laughing. He does his absolute best with what he has and hasn't disappointed me. Could care less if he's a 40 something time 24/7 champion. The guy is straight up more entertaining than any superstar on the roster.
Truth is THE MOST under rated superstar there is, been watching him in WWE since Sunday night heat in 1998 or something like that. When he was k kwick. And he's NEVER really been the main Guy or champion but, he always has the best attitude and spirit in the room. So dedicated and determined. Dude is down for life and deserves so MUCH more than he gets from his employer and from the fans.
Brock isn't that different to most introverts- he has his friends and lets his guard down when around people he trusts. The fact he achieved what he did pre-surgery was incredible. The fact he did it while having diverticulitis is superhuman
Stone Cold has a story almost popping the undertaker mid promo. It's a good one, you can go back and see it too, you can clearly see Taker fighting so hard not to laugh.
I started watching wrestling in '07 or '08 and R-Truth was the first "New" wrestler I ever saw make a debut. I've been a fan ever since. I rejected him when he first became a comedy character until I caught myself legitimately laughing at his work.
It's sad that someone who's been around for so long in this business especially with the same Company has making a part-time wrestler laugh in the ring as one of the high career moments. This guy deserves lot more than this for the crap he puts up with for Vince.
R Truth, Keith Lee and Street Profits vs. Hurt Business would be a legit stable fued. Especially if they involve the US championship, Raw tag titles, and the 24/7 belt.
Cowboy Brock and R Truth teaming up would have been amazing, even if it was for one night. I understand there's no space for him right now to be up in the top tier but they're seriously under utilizing him at the current moment. Even if it's just allowing him more mic time. Miz, Truth and Zig could have had an amazing non title feud between the three of them.
Shows you what kind of man R-Truth is, wants to work with Keith Lee so he can give him a rub and elevate him, he knows he is at the point in his career to do that
