    They broke INTO your home unlawfully. They removed your stuff unlawfully. HAVE TO file complaints and take them to Court. Way outta line.

    Her and her group of minions should have been arrested on the spot for breaking and entry, burglary, considering the value of what was taken out it would be felony burglary, fraud, etc. It is inexcusable they were not arrested and charged.

    A 150year old home in many places changing the door without Historical board or similar would be against city/ state regulations, even a legal HOA would be left pounding sand over anything they wanted done

      They weren't exactly legal now were they?

    • @sjmcc13
      @sjmcc13 6 месяцев назад

      @oprime yup, it was an attempt to strong arm people into selling their homes for cheap.
      Sounds like someone who knows about HOA powers, but to lazy and greedy to go through the legal hoops and restrictions to set one up.

    How in the hell do cops come up on a burglary in progress and not arrest anyone?

    • @sjmcc13
      @sjmcc13 6 месяцев назад

      Most of the people were "employees" and they did not want the hassle and paperwork of arresting everyone. Either that or she knew someone and they did not want to get on trouble for arresting her.
      But ya, even if there was a legal lien, the Karen would not be able to do that, everything has to go through the courts, with officers present.

    It’s a really good thing someone saying they saw something isn’t evidence.

    You should have had your attorney send the "Board" a Cease and Desist letter after the first so-called fine.

  • @brianwalley2131

    how did the HOA get into the house? was the OP careless enough to leave the front door unlocked? Otherwise, breaking and entering is a crime.

    • @sjmcc13
      @sjmcc13 6 месяцев назад +1

      Unlawful entry and removing property without legal authority are also crimes.
      That said, as per lockpicking Lawyer, locks are only a speed bump, they do not actually keep criminals out, just try to make entry inconvenient enough for them to go after a easier target.

    It really frustrating when I listen to these and hear stories I've heard before. Especially in new ones.

    Were I the owner of a pre-existing home in a neighborhood and someone or group decided to form a homeowner's association, I would not join. Were they to send me "fines" in the mail, the first thing I would do is report them to the Postmaster General for mail fraud, and then file (via Attorney) a civil action of harassment and stalking on them. Also get a protective order of no contact on each board member. This would happen in the first instance of a charge.

    even if a Lien is put on legally. they have to give op notice and time to get out. you cant just say "lien" and kick out. thats the problem with squatters, legally they cant be just kicked out. they need the person needs a court order, then let the people be notified and time.
    same goes with horrible renters and people with liens.

    First story has some iffy bits seeing as it sounds like Karen and her crew got to walk away and the lot of them weren't led off in cuffs for clear B&E. Thought initially it was some kind of historical district where certain restrictions are in place but the OP being fined for not replacing a historically accurate door to a modern approved door showed it as basically a power trip.
    Late wife and I were looking at selling the starter townhouse we'd lived in for 13 years to look at getting our dream house an old 1880s Victorian that being a HUD house was in our budget. While it was not in a historical district once my wife and I decided we were going to go for it she went online to look up period correct paint pallettes as unfortunately the owner had taken the definition of a painted lady being loud and garish colors and applied a 21st century definition of loud and garish rather than a 19th century one and painted this gawd awful puke green color with purple maroonish trim. My wife and I referred to the house as Casa De Joker in honor of the color scheme's resemblance to the Joker's comic book outfit. Unfortunately just as we were about to call the real estate agent the bottom fell out of the market and my wife passed 2 years later before the market recovered.
    Last story: never give cops blanket permission to search your belongings particularly on a the bullshyte claims of some busy body Karen. They have to have probable cause and the rantings of a busy body Karen do not qualify. Her bullshyte accusation could have ended with the same results without your surrendering your constitutional rights.

    Last story. If all the cops have is that lady's word, they are not entitled to anything. They can ask any questions they want, but you are not obligated to answer, nor are they entitled to search you. That ladies complaint alone is not probable cause for a search, arrest, or detainment without some other evidence, such as if they could see a pipe or scale hanging out of his pocket or bag, because they can plainly see it. It gets grey if they mistook his laptop for a scale because it can be kinda similar in shape. But that ultimately doesn't matter since thats not a fact of the interaction.
    But just in case this is not legal advice and im not a lawyer. What a cop is legally permitted to do under xyz circumstances can be very different from what they actually do, or believe they can do. Remember, cops are allowed to be wrong about the law, we are not.

      However the slap got her arrested for assault on a minor, and also charged with making a false police report, and misuse of police resources. Will mean that forever after if she calls about anything they will never believe her, and tell her that if she is wrong she will get that same sentence again, just this time not suspended, and she will be in for jail time for at least 6 months, and likely face eviction as well if there is a restraining order taken out against her.
