Just got a pair of these hearing aids. I have moderate to severe hearing loss. After wearing them for twelve hours per day for the first week I could not believe the difference in my daily hearing. They are expensive but like everything in life you get what you pay for. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone needing hearing devices.
My hearing loss is 71% severe to moderate (78 dB and 80 dB)....Now I'm using Oticon hearing aid with 12 channels but it's difficult to understand the conversations since loss percentage is high.....Will the hearing aid you mentioned suit for me?
I am not an audiologist so I cannot answer your question. I suggest that your speak to an audiologist who recommends Oticon. hearing devices. @@maheshmohan5642
I started wearing hearing aids in my 20s.. I ignore the warnings in my earlier teens , and ended developing tinnitus in my 20s.. imagine taking college courses online at home, and hearing nothing but a ringing noise. eventually I got use to it... I need to wear my hearing aids more.. .
I have an Oticon, have had it for four years now. One problem I have is when people are behind me and some way back I can hear them over the conversation of other people just sitting opposite me! Is it possible, using the app to effectively change the direction of my sound received? I have an iPhone. Is it possible if I lay it on the counter and pointed towards the person in front of me that I can minimise the sound coming in from behind and prioritise the sound from the person(s) in front?
I have watched dozens of videos about hearing aids. I learn about technology, looks, chargers, the wire, placement of microphone, on and on. What I want to learn is how closely the sound I hear approaches that of normal hearing. Isn’t that the whole point?
Great question! A hearing aid will never restore perfect hearing -- technology is no match for our original equipment -- but they can come close. There is a test called "real ear measurements" that allows us to verify that the hearing aids are restoring as close to normal hearing as possible. This type of test is often part of an initial hearing aid fitting or part of follow up care. Hope that helps!
Dear Doctors: Please help me out. I live in Los Angeles area, and today I got a quote from a local audiologist for the Oticon Real 3 mRITE/mBTE for $4800 a pair. Upon returning home and did some online search for the price, I found the price is about $3200 a pair. I understand that the price depends on various factors, but could the "various factors" make a $1600 difference? Am I being scammed? Could iot be the online quote does not include something that the $4800 do? In other words, is it normal for a quote from an audiologist to be higher than any price online? Thank you for your time.
Thanks for the question! I do not believe you are being scammed. Online prices often do not include service (the fitting, follow up care, counseling, etc). The service associated with a hearing aid varies from clinic to clinic but can often be anywhere from $1000-$2500. Bottom line: the price is probably fair
@@hearingandbalancedoctors Thank you, Doctor. As you know it is really difficult for us patients to gauge these prices especially on equipment like hearing aid devices. However, based on your advice, now I feel better and relieved.
UMM the very big bulky ones... I moderate to severe typically the receiver behind the ear with the thin tube... profound.. you probably need like cochlear implant at that point..

So glad you're doing well! Wearing them regularly right off the bat is an important key to success

If one has profound hearing loss, is this a hearing aid you would recommend or is there one you would prefer.

Cost???
$6K/pair at a local hearing business yesterday. My hearing is normal at low frequencies then goes over a cliff to a profound loss between 1500-1800.
I paid 7.5 K in Ontario Canada@@djjoe2506
