    Honestly I would have loved Nick for you to give the care and empathy you gave to the biological Dad and his current wife to the daughter who was put up for adoption. I would imagine for the daughter it could feel like a rejection and I would have loved for you to say to her that the Dad should feel lucky about who SHE is too and how lucky he is that she would be open to knowing him.

    Congratulations! Some of the best wedding photos I have ever seen! I love the country feel. It is awesome to see how Nick embraced something Natalie loved and found something he didn't know he would love to! Just a small thing to see he practiced what he preached ❤ The wedding family photo was the best!

    it’s so cool how this advise happens - this whole episode is advice growing and being thought through on the fly which is such good evidence of …the benefits of learning from experience- not “education” which i wish was more acknowledged “officially” - so good

    To the first caller: my ex boyfriend used to speak super highly of a woman that worked for him and it weirded me out. Talking about how amazing and smart and dedicated she was and I had the same feeling like “I’m amazing and smart too” lol. He broke up with me…then he was engaged to her within a year. Hugeeeee red flag for a guy to be speaking so highly of another woman (that he isn’t related to) like that!

      especially one that partakes in the going out/drinking. I know a pilot who's sober and I would theoretically totally set him up with a close friend bc I feel he'd be legitimately trust worthy. when theres no drinking involved it's far easier to trust those situations. when it comes to the caller I think it's kind of suspicious that he "ended the friendship" just bc the flight attendants were suspicious on the flirting. if that was the case you would just pull back your behavior. to "end" something sounds like he realized they were about to get caught for having an affair and told her they had to end it. anyone else think so?

    I can weigh-in on the Disney College Program! I did it in spring of 2015 during my junior year of college. You are assigned to a "role" when you are accepted (they kind of use previous job experience to determine this). I was in Merchandise, which means I worked at the gift shops but you can also be in Attractions (which means you work the rides) or Hospitality (cleaning rooms) and several others. The Disney princesses are typically not part of the College Program. You are also assigned to a location - so I was assigned to Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom so each day I'd clock in, I was given a location (a gift shop within Tomorrowland) and would work a few hours then get a break, then go to another gift shop and continue that throughout my shift. It was a BLAST and no, majority are not foreign exchange students. There were several, but a lot of people come from US too. Our living expenses were paid for and then made the normal minimum hourly wage for Florida at the time, but when you don't have living expenses, you felt rich lol. We got to go to the parks on our days off (free passes) and we also took beach trips, went to Universal, etc. You can also trade shifts in this software schedule thing so you could take off if you wanted, you just obviously wouldn't be paid. I would highly recommend to anyone interested. I met some lifelong friends through the experience.

    I’ve never felt compelled to comment but I’m sorry to the pilot wife you absolutely should not be with someone who 1. Is critical about how you parent and manage the home as the primary parent. And nitpicks at you about what you’re doing and not doing. 2. He ends the friendship because he’s worried more about optics than you. 3. He immediately blamed you for his actions for seeking out or developing this inappropriate friendship with this woman. 4. He has extended you no empathy with all that you do in his absence and I’m assuming in his presence as well and that is very alarming. He can tell you this random woman is smart and funny and blah blah but his wife and mother of his children gets the micromanaging side of him? . Miss girl you’re a therapist and I need you to operate in reality and also in your best interest. Why would he leave the woman who takes care of his children and cleans his home? I usually like Nicks advice but not this episode. I genuinely think your quality of life might improve if you leave him and tell him to make it work with his job and have the kids 50/50. Your husband has major character flaws just from the call you made and there is no changing that. I truly beg of you to operate in the real world.

    When I’m hearing the story about the 35-year-old woman and her biological dad, what comes to mind is the movie ELF. He too was 35, adopted, and the wife of his dad had no problem accepting him wholeheartedly. I know it’s just a movie, but that’s the way it should be. She didn’t know neither.
    I remember thinking what a wonderful and cool woman she was to accept her husband‘s daughter, wholeheartedly.
    We have to put aside our ego and just accept people and celebrate their existence. This calls for a celebration.

    2nd caller: Yes it fair to give space to the wife to process her husband has another child. Process things as they have kids of their own who may have big feelings. With that being said if/when they are ready to tell their children about another sibling the father has, how will those kids feel they not only have another sibling but then the secret was kept even longer than it had to be. It’s all around so hard I get that but there are several ways to look at this one and I feel for all of them. Best wishes for all of you!

    I absolutely cannot understand the second call biological fathers wife, not wanting to meet her after a year? How much time does one need to process? It’s too bad that this woman can’t see that my kids have another sibling. They were young. Had to give her up for adoption this could be a really wonderful thing. I just find the whole thing really unfortunate.

    • @theBoringL

      I heard that entirely differently. I think the caller for the most part has been approaching a hard subject with grace, patience, and understanding. but when she was talking about "how about by xx months time, we will do a family gathering?" and "the wife has prior engagement already but I can't possibly think of how meeting me doesn't trump any of her other plans." those kinda came off pushy and self-centered to me. for lack of a better word, she's a stranger to the wife. it's a hard situation. hope it all works out!

    • @catherineritch6241
      @catherineritch6241 6 месяцев назад

      I agree I feel the same. They should be celebrating her and having a reunion. Added family members is a blessing, especially when dad had not seen her in 35 years!!! And didn’t try to reach out before???
      She sounds like an easy-going wonderful woman.
      I think they’re the problem. I just don’t understand this one.

      @@theBoringLSame. If I was in the wife’s position I wouldn’t want to be pressured into a meeting. The caller seemed a bit self centered. Also to another commenter here, I think her being “celebrated” by the family seems a bit overboard😅 I mean the woman has three kids, she doesn’t need her. Would be nice if they accept her but it is not their obligation imo

    • @theBoringL
      @theBoringL 6 месяцев назад

      @@Dorothy_Gale exactly! I'm not saying the wife shouldn't eventually meet her and maybe maintain some type of big family relationship. But I think it's presumptuous to think someone should include you as family. When I heard her say meeting her ought to trump wharves prior engamwnt the wife had that did me in lol

    • @dk486
      @dk486 5 месяцев назад

      @@Dorothy_GaleI came to the RUclips just to talk about this call bc I disagree with Nick (and you lol). Her siblings have a right to know she exists especially the ones that are adult. I wouldn’t want to keep up a relationship with a bio dad you kept me as his dirty little secret from my siblings. If his wife is the issue then he needs to man the f up. She wasn’t the product of an adulterous relationship. This is not the caller’s fault. They don’t have to meet her but they should know. At the end of the day she has parents who love her. She’s not looking for money. It’s messed up.

    So the 1st caller’s husband has an affair with another woman, blames it on his wife because she doesn’t do laundry, and Nick’s advice is that she needs to send nudes because the husband is bored in the relationship. YIKES. My cat could give better advice.

    Nick don’t say to someone that is asking for advice or help “ hey I’m not an expert “ it leaves the other person in question because we all know ur not Dr Phil u know , so maybe just say my advice or if I were u I would … if u were my person or partner or friend or family I would say … I would do … just talk from ur heart don’t say to someone that is looking for some words of wisdom, I’m not an expert! It kinda makes u sound like an ass lol or just makes ppl feel dumb to be even calling in .
