I would consider the 7MM-08 light recoil. I would say 15 lbs or less for light. I really can’t feel much of a difference in recoil from my 6.5 Creedmoore to the 7MM-08. All things considered, I think hands down for deer the 7MM-08 is the best caliber of the light rounds.
Great educational video. Its funny how you talk about flinching. At the range i may flinch a bit especially with the bar .06, but if im on a deer i dont feel it one bit, just comes natural.
I really appreciate your common sense approach to educate. I've personally moved away from using anything more powerful than average 30-06 recoil. At this point I'm using two different rifles chambered in 7mm08 more frequent than any other that I currently own. Very satisfied with the cartridge performance.
Brilliant video. So many times we focus on what is popular or what someonne else uses. Get a rifle that you are comfy with and put the bullet where you want it. Merry Christmas, Fam!
It's also important to have a solid rest...as you get older recoil is more bothersome. (quality kick pad makes a big difference)...and .223 was illegal for deer in Kansas until a few years ago....I got a doe with .223 at about 90 yards...but its not the best choice
Rifles spit chunks of lead real fast...most all do the job...guys like to debate what is best.....kinda funny......everything my .243 touches ends up in the freezer...and don't call me a wimp....6'3"...235lbs.....but I am Old...ha

It would be interesting to know what grain bullets were used.

Fellows around here, dont practice.
Shoot once a year, some with a sixer in em. Well yes they are recoil shy. Like shooting flintlock, you flich.
How does the recoil of the 300 WSM compare to the recoil of the 300 Win. Mag. that you referenced in the video? I feel they have to be pretty close
This list can change dramatically if you replace the factory recoil pad.
As a kid I thought the 30-30 kicked real hard. Maybe it was that metal butt plate
that could have a ton of difference in felt recoil vs a pad
Slip on butt pad fellas ❤
I'm getting a new rifle but I'm torn between the cz 457 and the browning tbolt ...any opinions?
I'm pretty partial to the Browning but virtually everyone is turning out some great stuff
Both very nice, but I love the CZ. Good luck! (Really a winner either way)
Accessories are more abundant for a CZ.
Not sure what your budget is, but take a look at the Tikka T3X’s. I have a .308 in a wooden stock and a 7MM-08 in a synthetic stock. Great model
I know u can put a limbsaver recoil pad on a rifle or muzzle brake and that solves alot of recoil problems
Average Mule kick...29.98

243 is great!
