I did my first part in Aust, and the 2nd part in Guadalajara last month, it took me 1 day to get the card. And 2 weeks to arrange the appointment. I am back in Oz now, getting ready to pack up and go back permanently just haven't decided where to live, too many good options.
Congrats! You folks get our fire going. We were in the process of PR/MX, then Covid trashed our dreams, now things return more normal, we ll put our apps in for PR again. Do you able to move your life time items with you to MX duty free as PR in BCS?
We have not moved our items but I don't think we will use the one time household exemption when we do. Several movers said they would charge more overall with it. Said it causes big delays at the border.
It is different at every consulate. Some require way more income or assets. If you check the website for the Mexican consulate near you that you will be using they should have all of the financial requirements listed. The requirements have changed considerably at the Calexico consulate that we used. Here is their current requirements for each person: a) Retirees or Pensioners: Original and a photocopy of proof of investment or bank accounts with an average monthly balance equivalent to $130,529.00 USA dollars during the last twelve months, or Original and a photocopy of proof of monthly income from pensions in the amount of $3,263.00 USA dollars during the past six months.
Congratulations my friend. I hope you enjoy Mexico fully
We definitely will!
SALUDOS DESDE MEXICALI....BIENVENIDO A MEXICO
Y QUE SEAN GENTE POSITIVA Y DE POSITIVOS PENSAMIENTOS

We got our Mexican permanent resident cards, it was relatively easy, especially that we have a home in Baja, I believe that helped!
It's a pretty easy process if you meet all the requirements.
Welcome to Mexico guys
Thank you
Way to go! Have fun!

I'm finding it impossible to just get an appointment at a consulate.
We had to make an appointment 6 months ahead of time at Calexico consulate.
