    Dont forget about your floor slope if the laundry room has one. Like the garage.

    Are you able to get your temporary and permanent residency at the INM office in Loreto?

    • @dooglassandesperanza
      @dooglassandesperanza  3 месяца назад +2

      Yes. I originally started my permanent residency process at the consulate in the US and then finished it in San Felipe. We got Esperanza's temporary residency down here using the process of being the spouse of a permanent resident. I am planning on releasing an in-depth video talking about all the different ways to get residency on patreon in the near future.

    Depending where you're at, unless it's a dry climate you may have problems with rot. One reason is the humidity and homes aren't sealed and often have open areas ans may not even have air conditioning. In the North where they have all seasons it's a little different

    • @dooglassandesperanza

      The climate here is the same as many areas of Southern California and Arizona. Generally desert with low humidity. The main problem here is maintenance. My builder told me that the general philosophy here is you build something and then in 25-30 years it has deteriorated to the point that you tear it down and start over. The typical person here does zero maintenance on anything. Cars are the same way. You buy it and drive it until something breaks and it won't go anymore and then you fix it enough so it will go again and that's it. Our builder was amazed that houses in the US last more than 30 years. We definitely have bad termites down here, but with proper continuous maintenance and treatment, everything here will last till long after I'm gone.
      We have also always loved fresh air. We don't like having an air tight sealed house like they build in the US. We have always had all of our doors and windows open as much as possible. Here we can have everything open 24/7 most of the year. The only time we close up is in the summer, and even then we open up the whole house for several hours every morning to air it out, even if the temperature goes way up.

      @dooglassandesperanza i thinl you're right it's mainly a different philosophy and the maintenance I've seen in airbnbs they just let things go for too long like you say. I think i. Southern mexico is where you would run into problems with humidity and moisture. I've spent quite a few months in Chihuahua and its the same and very dry here. Wood cabinets and furniture though but i suppose its the american influence. In places like Guerrero and veracruz it does get extremely hot and humid. Best of luck to you guys and great video. It's good to know these tips and exceptions to visas permits etc.

    Mexico has more bureaucracy than any country on the planet. They love their paperwork. And now with the new president, they're going to end up like Venezuela, and they truly will be a third world country. 😢

      I totally disagree on the most paperwork on the planet. I help someone do social security paperwork and it literally was pounds of paper and 3 years of work to get approved for social security. Oh and there were two times we had to go to court also. So from my experience the USA has Mexico beat hands down on amount of paperwork.

      Because of all the nearshoring activity of the United States Mexico is poised to become one of the wealthier countries in the world in the next couple decades. They have already passed China in in the amount of revenue from manufacturing

      @@dooglassandesperanza they must have been applying for social security disability which is a completely different animal. It took 10 minutes for me to apply for social security online, and I had my first payment the next month. I don't know if you're applying for social security for Mexicans? But that is not true. I didn't fill out one piece of paper. In fact they didn't even need my signature, it was all electronic.

    Just wondering with the wood with bugs and termites? Just asking. ;) is it treated for that?

    • @dooglassandesperanza
      @dooglassandesperanza  3 месяца назад

      Not treated but I learned from living in SoCal where the termites are bad too that you just need to inspect all your wood regularly and treat any termites right away. They take time to do damage so if you find them early it's no big deal.

    You're right that you'd likely not be deported unless you refused or argued with them. You wisely "dotted all your tees and crossed your eyes". On the other hand you could stand to lose a lot more if you were kicked out. Good content. Please keep em coming. P n D
