I recently purchased a 2015 Yukon Denali XL with 114k miles. Very nice SUV but one week after having it the transmission control module and heat sensor went bad. Almost a 2k fix. Noticing a hard shift into first gear about 2 weeks after repair. I got rid of a nice 2008 GMC Sierra SLT with 135k miles because it started developing a hard shift. Both are really nice looking and riding vehicles but dang what's going on there.
Mine was hard shifting and gave code p0711 for a bad temp sensor (if you hit the tow/haul button and the temp reads zero when it should be warmed up that’s also how you know). I replaced the harness and it has been good since. I’m about to finish putting new lifters and DOD/AFM delete, so stay tuned ruclips.net/video/PxAeX6dZbCA/видео.htmlsi=RpPM3lUQqs8Lvq73
Which car are you leaning towards now? Or undecided? The best buying advice I can give is to never hurry into a purchase, you have done your research on this one. That dealer was trying to rope you in by the sounds of it. If I were you just negotiate money off rather than trust the dealer to make it right. You clearly have the skills and know-how, I only trust our cars to my hands and workmanship. Good luck on the new family ride.
Thanks! Yeah, they make so many of these and a lot of them can be found in really good condition if I just take the time to find the right one. I still like the Denali over the V6 competition, so I may just want to find the right one and knowing of the issues it may have be willing to work with that. I trust the drivetrain, just need to research more on the best fixes or wait until the newest version depreciates
