Here, a feller proves that a little elbow grease, some tools, and some juice can give really great results with little more than time and effort. You've got my like, and subscription for presenting fundamental concepts and practices in an easily digestible format, and giving us that all important lesson... " Hey! Take care of your stuff, man!" Carry on!
I have been detailing cars for 20 years and everything you did was right you can also use the same polish on your taillights and front turn signal lights to gloss them up but slow speed is what you need doing that the plastic will absorb the heat from the polish so quickly go over
@vicegripgarage he gets it done !! He’s got it all figured out that’s for sure. Takes on more than I could handle but definitely inspiring like you said. Thats why we started a channel him @puddingfabshop and @sleeperdude too their family is one of our top watched funny and hard working. Good people if you haven’t check them out !!
For a breakdown of why one is faster than the other F1 has: -way larger crew -already where they need to be to change tires -less regulations on pit crew -the tires are not in wheel well so it is easier to quickly change them -nascar tires are heavier than theirs
As a fellow Texan I know how the sun can take a toll on paint. Looks like you had some help with it. My kids are grown and gone so it takes me the better part of the day. Now that its all shiny gotta keep a good wax on it.
I think you did a heck of a job detailing your truck.. I’ve had good luck using the same polishing compound on the headlights. But the new ones look great
You ask to tell you, FYI the clay bar will work much better instead of the spray they sold you just use soapy bucket of water. The same that you wash the truck with . Keep putting soapy water on then clay bar and you can clean the clay in the bucket. then just wash the truck then or even wait till after you buff it. I used a clay bar on cars daily. Great stuff.
We had the same Ex as yours and was always impressed when it was all detailed like yours. They are awesome trucks… the ultimate family hauler. We had the right rear tire (Firestone) blow out and shred on the highway at 75 lies an hour and the truck just settled down on the rim and let me steer off to the shoulder no problem. Kept the wife and kids safe👍🇺🇸✌🏻
Same thing happened to me in an '04 2500 Suburban on I-95 in Florida. Never knew the rear tire shredded until I got out, as it felt like the rear end just sagged a little...
Man that turned out nice. A steam cleaner, some floor mats, and a dash mat would transform the interior of that thing. I’ve been running those cloth dash covers from the parts store on my vehicles for years, saves the dash from getting all weather cracked. I also found that Cerakote trim coating makes plastic trim look really good, and it lasts for over a year.
Good jpb. Wanna make it pop? They make a chemical (don't remember the name right off) that you use to recondition all the exterior rubber and plastic pieces with... that front bumper... the black on the bottom will look like new... the rubber around your windows and the steps? Same thing. It's sold at all the car parts houses. Also... you replaced the headlights and that's the best way to make em look good again but for a cheap alternative try spraying them with "Off" mosquito repellant and then wiping them off with a paper towel. Sounds crazy but it works really well. Careful though cause the spray makes the plastic real sticky. Just be quick about it.
@@revivingrides ahh well I still love to see a 5.4L still putting in work and the 7.3L excursion seem to be going for a lot I’ve seen a few for sale and they want like 10k to 20k for them
yeah, it's too bad Derek from vice grip garage is not just one of the guys anymore. He has high dollar sponsors funding him, and everything he needs just miraculously appears he was an average guy once, but not everybody has things like a plasma table, tire mounting and balancing machine, and multiple lifts at their disposal and doing a build. Not to mention all the sponsors throwing the free parts and things at him. I enjoy his context, but I do not try to relate to him. I'm still an average guy. He's a famous guy with a lot of funding that most people will never have. Am I jealous, yeah, I admit it. But still, I'm happy just being a regular guy.
Thanks for watching! I don’t know Derek personally, but I can tell he’s far from average. With hundreds of videos and hours of content he is enjoying the fruits of his labor. I can’t fault a guy for that. He has shown what a regular guy can accomplish with hard work. No need to envy, just roll up those sleeves!

Well done, but when you sprayed the inner fender , you forgot to say, “ rebuilding, rebuilding” 😂😂
Well I’ll be dipped! That would have been perfect.

My 01 of the same color was totaled in Oct. Can’t make anymore content with it. Thanks for some great memories.
cute name, some of us work pretty hard at being organic and unique.
There is nothing new under the sun.
WOW mate you nailed it well done
Nice looking rig. Be happy ur in Texas. I'm from Pennsylvania. We got rust. Nice looking ride.

Many hands make light work!
Amazing job! God Bless. Keep your powder dry.
Craigslist rebuild.... lost the receipts. Keep up the good work!
I like meguires stuff and also sam mothers products too
Thought you would’ve at least used some VGG shine juice.
Agreed. He used many other VGG things....image/likeness, music, mannerisms, sayings..... Why not a product?
How is the fuel maker-happener....?
I might have done a coat of rubbing compound before the clay. But you've done a good job of keeping that jobber in good shape.
Looks good . Good luck not getting sued.
Thanks!
Try toothpaste on the head lights it works.
Love the excursion first video I’ve watched from you and was wondering what motor do you have in your excursion 5.4L 6.8L 7.3L
I have the 5.4L. I wish I would have went with the 7.3L, but 20 years ago it wasn’t in the budget.
@@revivingrides ahh well I still love to see a 5.4L still putting in work and the 7.3L excursion seem to be going for a lot I’ve seen a few for sale and they want like 10k to 20k for them
Looks great and I cant wait to do something special with mine I just purchased 3 weeks ago. 2005 XLT 2wd in silver. Did you do the roof too?
I did not polish the roof. We simply ran out of time on the big yacht!
@vicegripgarage whatcha think D.B.?

Thanks for watching! I don’t have a show. Just a car guy like you having fun.
Pretty sure your yelling at the wrong person and the wrong channel
