    Myself and a mate climbed over the high corrugated tin fence into the guest enclosure at Queen's last gig at Knebworth (9th Aug '86).
    Lemmy was stood at a trestle table of drinks watching, he simply smiled at us, beckoned us over & passed us both a drink. Watched the remainder of the show with him!
    Life long happy memory :)
    Had a few 'meetings' with him in the 80's. Pure class dude!

      Back in 1996, I was in Hollywood. Was a weekday afternoon, I went into the Rainbow and there was nobody in there EXCEPT Lemmy. Sitting at the Mrs Pacman table top. Playing the game and drinking Jack & Coke.
      True story.

    No human being has ever been more true to themselves than Lemmy Kilmister. No bullshit, no fake shit, no pandering, no selling himself out. Always put it on the line and never deviated from his core principles. Lemmy was the personification of rock-n-roll, respect by fellow musicians and loved by his fans. Motörhead is responsible for some of my hearing loss and I would not have it any other way. War Lemmy and Motörhead!!

      "Well now I've got some
      Advice for you, little buddy
      Before you point the finger
      You should know that I'm the man
      I'm the man and you're the man
      And he's the man as well
      So you can point that fuckin' finger up your ass

      I sold out long before you'd ever even heard my name
      I sold my soul to make a record, dip shit
      And then you bought one"
      Written by the Reverend Maynard, for ppl like you... what the hell would you know about "selling out"? No one is looking to buy what you have. It's really easy to preach monogamy when no one wants to fuck you.

Lemmy spent too much time at the bar after the concert was over and ran right smack into me running for the bus before they left him lol He was sooo nice and apologized greatly for almost knocking me down outside the venue. I loved him before, but so loved him more after that! He was so nice and apologetic! lol I just wish that he wasn't running for the bus to leave and had NO TIME for me to ask for a picture, or anything! ... but HEY... I have a GREAT memory from an awesome man!

    Lermmy is a rock legend. He has so much charisma and wisdom. I met him in Atlanta in 1999. He was sitting at the bar of the Tabernacle, (where Motorhead played that night), talking to some girl with orange hair...lol. I didn't want to invade his space, but I really did want to say "hello", to my favorite Rock and Roller while I had the chance. So I did; "Hey Lemmy!" And he responded in kind, "Hey man!" And that was cool with me! lol! I spoke to Phil Campbell too. Long live Motorhead!

    true story i was 17 yrs old at the time.
    they had me do dressing rooms at the march or die tour this was at the old pine knob venue in clarkston michigan
    i was a skinny black kid with an afro scared to death .
    .I mean everyone one had long hair even the dudes!! but i needed the cash at the time
    I didnt know anyone
    and this guy was the only one who would take the time out to talk to me an just tell me about how he loved the girls but hated the tour part of it
    but he loved his job
    he told me he got more joy out of playing in dive bars in front of his friends than big crowds
    he said family and good friend is always a better crowd
    they dont lie to ya
    cuz if you suck they will tell you .
    lol i didnt know what the hell he was talkin about at the time.
    that was the last time i saw him in 92
    his last words to me was...hey kid keep ya motor heads up and ill catch ya on the flip side aye!!
    i never will forget how kool he was with me...he even made sure i had food to cuz nobody else did.
    just the best dude ever i will never forget that.
    miss the guy.

    • @ancogaming
      @ancogaming 3 года назад +1

      That's really cool, man! Especially the part with dive bars and them being more fun to play at in front of your friends. I've never thought of it this way, I've always assumed the bigger the crowd the better as all the energy from the audience just hits you on stage in waves like an orgasm. But then again in said bars, it's a much more personal experience for everyone involved, right? The way Lemmy defines Rock n Roll and the motivation for it resulting in happiness, I can see that some amps, a few blokes you like to hang out with, booze, speed, and a girl willing to jump on your knob are pretty much all the ingredients you'd possibly need to enjoy life to the fullest as a musician of Lemmy's caliber. Not saying I wanna live that way and I don't want to needlessly glorify this kind of lifestyle, it's just that from his point of view it totally makes sense.

      For real. Just because those Tik Tok songs get in ur head, they aren't music. The toy that is singing them, er the tech making them sound LIKE they r singing, can't compare. We're not hating on u kids, but PLAY something! BE a performer! Madonna is a performer. Shakira, is a performer. But they also sing. Harry Styles, is a singer, entertainer, musician, and songwriter. He doesn't just write a word to get credit. It's a passion. It's fine to sing and jam to other artists. That's how u learn what has been a proven sound. But add ur heart and ur own originality. Bruno Mars is a whole package. But these talented ones get lost in the synthetic bunch. Taylor Swift is a true musician, but people focus on her look or who she's writing about.

      It's like BECAUSE of the intro to Lemmy so young, we can appreciate. Or The Beatles. Or The Stones. For me it was Motley Crüe. I still see 3 solid musicians. They give their hearts. Don't invite me to ur show and have me pay for it, for it to not be a little bit about me, ya know? Especially now that there's a deadly virus, freaking monkey pox, and some people still not on their feet from shutdown. Give us a reason, not blind loyalty. I'm too old for that. Actually, I'm a NKOTB fan too. Simultaneously, with Metallica, Motorhead, Sabbath, until grunge/punk came along. There's enough room in my heart for all of em. My playlists have hardly any modern music. The Headpins and Nitty Gritty, genre is for record stores. Ahhh the smell of vinyl though! My friends dad had Tommy James and The Shondells, and we would listen to it over and over again. And then put in a Beastie Boys tape or Cinderella. Foos and Nirvana, if u have to tell someone ur a fan, they don't know u. Or music. There r just givens. Or Johnny Cash or George Jones, they made road life. Lita Ford still lives road life. Leaves it on the stage. Some of us r made different.

    Man, Lemmy hit's it right on the head. People who expect every new album to sound like a continued version of the previous one. Tells you a lot about the listeners or the ones who call themselves fans, when they can't get past aesthetics or sound of the band.

    • @drgdegdgedgeg445
      @drgdegdgedgeg445 10 лет назад +1

      What are you even trying to say? A fan has every right to turn on a band if they don't like their new sound, and in Metallica's case they pretty much spat in the face of their hardcore fans by deciding they would be mainstream and rich rather than loved by their real fans. They tried to defend it and say that's not what they were doing but it totally is what they did. The load and reload album were shit because they were shit not because everyone had a grudge on them, every metallica fan bought that album and gave it a chance before turning on them. And seriously everybody saying that getting a haircut doesn't effect music does not get what it meant. If one of them cut there hair no one would care, even if they all did it eventually, But what they did was all cut their hair at once which is like saying we are not the same metallica who wrote the And justice for all album, and they proved it soon after with load. That's why people talk about Metallica being shit once they "cut their hair". They are not actually saying that having less hair makes you less musically talented, That's just when they sold out.

    • @hammer81tn
      @hammer81tn 10 лет назад +2

      Anybody who knows anything about the band wouldn't be making stupid ass statements like, "they cut their hair, so now they're shit/sellouts/etc." Maybe you ought to read up on why they cut their hair before making a statement like that. As a matter of fact, hop over to reddit and go to /r/metallica and read through some of those discussions.

    • @drgdegdgedgeg445
      @drgdegdgedgeg445 10 лет назад +1

      Are you talking to me? Because I really don't think you read what I wrote properly if you are. They cut their hair at the same time they stopped making good music and meaningful and metal as fuck lyrics. They got alt metal haircuts and started dressing all smart and shit, which is a punch in the face to everyone who loves thrash and speed metal because of early Metallica. Early Metallica is one of the greatest bands in history but I wouldn't cross the street to see them for free these days. If you still think they have the passion they once did for music just look at the napster lawsuit. They actually called their fans that just wanted to hear the music thieves and criminals. They used to live on buses and eat sardines and were happy, now they are fuckin millionaires and they get upset when someone hears them without paying. If you want anymore evidence that they sold out just ask because there is plenty more

    • @pnut166
      @pnut166 9 лет назад +1

      drgdegd gedgeg
      I`m not making the connection on how to be truly " metal" you have to look like shit. "...dressing all smart and shit" - I lol`d. And get off the Napster thing already. They saw the writing on the wall, moron. Countless bands bit the dust due to album sales tanking and labels going belly up because of P2P. They were the ones that had enough balls to fight for not themselves, but for everybody else. You see what you want to see, like most self-proclaimed "true fans", not reality.

    I drank at the bar with Lemmy early before a Motorhead show back around 2004/5. My buddy and I showed up super early and nobody was in the place so we went over to the adjacent bar and ordered some whiskey's and beers. Some guy was playing the pinball machines in the far dark corner at the end of the long bar. He gets done playing walks the length of that long bar and sits down right next me at the bar, bullet belt, Iron Cross, leather jacket, boots and all. I always wore a .308 bullet belt and leather jacket to metal shows because of him and the Thrash scene. I didn't ask for a picture or autograph, just sat at the bar and drank with the man and talked. I'll never forget that. RIP Lemmy.
