- On the tail end of getting things cleaned up, and we now have the missing safes and a bucket of $$$! will do a special unboxing video on these seperately!
The hat goes off for you and Patrick, incredible amount of work.
I am exhausted just watching 🛌 You two deserve a standing ovation. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The unopen 8 tracks reminded me of the gifts my grandmother would have stored in a cabinet for those last minute guests that might be invited for various reasons. She would have 5 or 6 things, and if they were not needed, they were put back in the cabinet for next year. I know every few years, she would donate those and buy another load of generic gifts.
Your grandmother sounds like a really good woman. My maternal grandmother was like, but she passed away when I was 4, 1958. On the other hand, my paternal grandmother was a total witch. Really mean. You are blessed to have such good memories of her.
Alot of us ladies still do that gift box each year for Christmas. I have one going year to year as I find things I think the person would like and usually on sale bad thing is some years I forget to take everything out lol. I have a warm fuzzy blanket in there now for a young friend who likes to cuddle with her 4 year old son and watch movies. Makes it so much easier at Christmas less stress less grabbing something last minute. Anna In Ohio
Your Grandmother sounds so caring and thoughtful 🙏
I do that same thing with picture frames and candle sets. 8 track tapes seems less generic though. 🙂 (Never give a ouija board as a random last minute gift.)😂
Your grandma could adult in a way I can only dream of achieving! I can’t even do Christmas cards. Very cool memory.
Love Patrick’s new haircut. You guys are doing such a great job on this house. So nice to see that you care about the condition of the home you are leaving for a new family.
It’s a lovely house that now can be used for growing another family as it was intended. I’m amazed that there was very little filth and damage despite the amount of hoard. You both did a great job that can feel impossible.
I just want to thank you for providing such clean and wholesome entertainment that is exciting to follow and watch as you go on your adventures finding trinkets of treasure sorting through items to find the real deal your friends and family are such a positive and friendly bonus to all of your videos. And to see you classify through all of that hoard and finding homes for most of it to charity and filtering out The Unwanted to the dumpster with recycling in mind is impressive. Keep doing what makes you happy and may all good things continue to happen for you and your family. JT
Amen.
You two are incredible! That was a huge project, and you must have set a record in clearing out a hoard. Well done!!
I hope Alex will let us know where he found the good stuff like the safes and the money. I'm so glad you found them Alex because with all your hard work you deserve to get a bonus at the end of this adventure. I felt bad for you and Patrick working so hard but at the same time enjoying the videos so much. 🥰❤
Wow! We all missed your hoarded house 🏠 episodes. What an incredible amount of work, but you and Patrick were a super team. I can’t wait to see the safe episode. ❤
I was hoping he would show us where he found the safes too!
Have loved watching,
Can't believe you two cleaned that house out in 8 1/2 days. That is incredible.
Preditor in the window reminded me of Pickle Rick in the Potter’s window!
That Kirby kicked some hoarded house ass, lol
WOW, Alex and Patrick, you have done a prenominal job clearing that house! Big Thumbs up!
On the first day I would have run screaming out of that house, You are astounding dear sir. lol
I think you should keep the vacuum for any other clearance houses you need it for as it has done a good job.I cant believe how quick you have cleared that house.well done both of you
Kirby vacs have s universal belt that hasn't changed over the years. Most vaccuum shops carry them. Change the belt every few monthes... will last forever..was impressed at how well it did considering how old it was.
I think it's due for a fresh bag!
Kirby is a great brand vacuum
Another amazing transformation I’m so pleased you found the safes you deserve to double your investment with all the work you and Patrick have put in 👍🏻
He probably was not discouraged while cleaning, because he had already found those!! Hopefully there is something good in them!
That's what the auctions are for :)
A lot of furniture.
So great to see the big job almost finished! What a Herculean effort. Please consider doing a live feed or a video of the big sort on the China sets. It would give us a chance to see Melissa and one or more of the kids also! I just think that would be a lot of fun, and would probably help the China sell better also. :-)
I agree. That's if they wanna be a part of Alexander's Ragtime Band of laborers. Amazing work! What a beautiful house that is, though not into what's "in" retro now, but for the time well built and loved!
I have so many thoughts rushing out of my head about this show and it's amazing the most precious gift of all, is in watching someone discarding trash in what was once a a home with many secrets and buried treasures. Thank goodness Alexander knows his shite! I could suggest a few ideas to make extra dollars while taping the show, and be giving back, as well. 👍
I am blown away with how fast you two work. What an amazing effort. I'm glad you were able to find some real goodies too! Can't wait to see 😉
I'm always blown away by how quickly you clean these hoarded homes up. Plus the wonderful positive outlook you bring . I hate seeing Patrick feeling so sick. Feed him some chicken soup! I'm really impressed by that old Kirby. They're great work horses. Long ago and far away I had a roommate that had a Kirby and it was a great vacuum. Even had the shampoo attachment. Can't bet those things. Looking to the final results from this to see how you make out.
We had a Kirby for years. It was great! Had to replace as I got older because it was too heavy to carry up and down stairs.
They're definitely not light weights that's for sure. They're built to last.
Hope you kept that Kirby for future hoarded houses and anywhere you don't want to use a personal vacuum. It's awesome.
Alex - it’s amazing what you do with your left hand while holding the camera. Patrick - you’re a gem. Love this series. ❤️
I mean, yes it is impressive all the things he do one handed, but I'm positive he is a lefty.
@@sitafinel never thought of that! 👍
Love how that kirby just working and doing it’s stuff but probably so heavy to push around .
Another great video, thanks !
Noooooo‼️. I can’t handle the wait‼️‼️‼️🙀🙀🙀🙀. I wanna see NOW‼️‼️‼️‼️😂😂😂😂😂
Patrick and Alex-Tetris masters
Love it
Patrick should be in a Kirby commercial!! Those old machines never die!
Oohhhh dontcha know that was quite the teaser! Looking forward to the next episode 🇨🇦
After watching a couple of these it changed the way I clean my garage. "Will I ever use this again? Why am I hanging on to this? Maybe I should get rid of this?"
Good idea!
You remind me off a modern Canadian version of the American father on "Leave It To Beaver".
Refreshing, deceent.
With much of the population with too much material items, unused, neglected, discarded due to commercialism overdone.....you have a lot g lasting career. And very needed. Good on ya!! 👍
Cool. Looking forward to the next video!
I found this fascinating. You do what you do so well.
Wow awesome job ,enjoyed watching.
Alex, I have made respect for you and what you do. Yes you do it for a living, but you honestly care about everyone and not just the one's involved. As for you in the compromising position with the predator, that was priceless you had me laughing so hard tears came out. Thanks for the show, and thank you Patrick for being such a great costar!
Love your content. So excited to see what was in the attic. Nothing. I'm glad for you all😂👍❤️🕊🇨🇦
You and Patrick did an incredible job. Excellent. Also, The family and Kastners
All I can say is WOW!
Hardworking team!!! Kudos!!!
😁❤️🎶👏👍🇨🇦
Wow! Beginning to see a very nice house emerge from the morass. Good job!
Alex, you are so freaking funny I just laugh throughout your entire video 😂😂😂
The change is unbelievable
Whoever will be handling the sell of the house will be delighted that you have emptied the it so quickly. Y’all need to take that Kirby with you for the next house; what a workhorse!
I was feeling so miserable with so much pain. (I live with chronic pain) then as I was watching your video I found myself laughing out loud from seeing you kneeling between the predators legs talking to Patrick about taking photos and sending them out as Christmas cards. Thank you, brilliant.x
Love the cliffhanger!
The road cookie comment was cute, but watching you and predator , priceless.
Its satisfying to see the house in the clean stage! Great work!
did not want you in the red on this project...great finds!!....and hopefully profits!
That sunrise was spectacular!
Amazing job loving these video,s
OMG! I can’t wait to hear the story of where you found the safes and coins!
Incredible!!!!!
So relieved you got The Goods!! Can't wait for the live(s)
Bless you for sorting and clearing the home for the first time in many years.
Shocked the attic wasn't jam-packed full of everything!
Me to, but it was probably too difficult to put stuff up there for an elderly couple.
By the time the house was full, they were probably too old to go up there, :>(
Perhaps they moved it down before, we helped some elderly relatives to clear their attics and store stuff downstairs.
Goodness, this is a nice home! Great news on the safes. It boggles the mind how much there was stashed in the house.
Alex, I have grandsons around your age. I am proud of you and your family! You are doing a great job!
Can't wait to find out where you found the safes and what is in them! That house was in perfect condition under everything that was in it. Amazing!
I still have a working 8-track player in my stereo which I purchased in the 1970s. It has only a turntable and 8-track player. It’s a lovely piece of furniture which I use to this day. You’d never know it was a stereo.
You guys are beasts. I doubted you could clear that house, but you both did it! Great work in record time!
Minute mark 20 Walk Through: always funny at that point in the job where it starts to look empty, with only a few small groups in each area, but when you bring all those little bits together, you can still fill one last truckload. LOL
That dumpster company haven't won any customers from their service during this clearance.
Patrick on the other hand has done stirling service as always
15:50 I just bought a home like this! So excited, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed watching this series. It's been inspiring to see you clean up that place because it's similar to mine. I grew up in a home build int 1895 with a stone foundation. It's still in our family and where my 2 sisters live, with my mom, until she passed in March 😢 I've lived in the second floor apartment of my duplex for the past 18 years, which was built in 1870.
I spent 3 times the price of my current place, on a home very similar to the one you're standing in. My old duplex was very inexpensive (took $40k in repairs to move in) back in 2004. I haven't moved to the new place yet since it's my busy-season and I work from home. I spent the past 2 months having all the original hardwood floor refinished, installed a new electrical service panel inside and out, removed the old 70s paneling, and repaired and painted all the swirled plaster walls. Finally I need to finish replacing the living room, dining room, and hall with baseboard. Watching this series with you this past 2 weeks has reminded me of all the work that needed done. It stunk from 50 years of smoking. There were cables and telephone wires everywhere. But the saving grace is, it had never been updated or remodeled. The basement is unfinished, perfect for me to create a space of my own that house you have there. Of course I didn't have to empty it as you are doing. Next project is to replace every receptacle, light switch, and ceiling light. Everything was covered with sticky tar and nicotine stains. I'll be moving in soon, slowly but surely.
Wow, how did you get the smell out? I have heard that’s fairly impossible. Cool that it hasn’t been remodeled! It’s hard to find those houses anymore.
@@cynthiafisher9907 First I tried an Ozone machine. That didn't seem to work very well at all, but it was 50 years of smoking right? We started with the 2 obvious things, the carpets all got pulled out (revealing worn hardwood floors that had never been refinished). We pulled down all the 70's paneling and burnt it. Everything was sticky with tar, nasty! The biggest difference in the smell was after we scrubbed the hardwood floors twice with Murphy's Oil Soap. That Murphy's smell lingered for nearly 3 weeks, amazing!
My business partner's brother paints homes for a living and used an expensive ($60/gallon) Sherwin Williams primer to seal all the walls. We did scrub things down first though he told me it wasn't necessary (should have seen the nasty water yuk). Then he painted the ceilings white, and the walls a gray color. The painter took down all the vertical blinds in the house and placed them in the basement. When I entered the house after he finished painting, I couldn't smell anything but paint. Every wall had been sealed. I was shocked when I went in the basement though, it smelled like smoke. It had never smelled like that before! On the way home after working on the house, I realized the smell had come from the blinds sitting in a pile down there. Those immediately went to the trash the next week.
Everything that didn't get painted was scrubbed. The kitchen cabinets and brick facade backsplash, appliances, bathroom vanity and fixtures all were nasty. I moved on to all the bedroom and closet doors, windows, and baseboard. The difference on the windows alone, amazing! I got the water bill for last month and it was $30 alone for just cleaning haha! I return today (been 3 weeks since I was there) to see the refinished floors for the first time! But also I'll get to have a fresh smell of the results of the work. I started the process at the beginning of September, exactly 2 months of slow but steady progress of one day per week. Lots more to do but I'm excited to get to moving in.
@@leechburglights Wow! I. Impressed! Thanks for the long answer, it helps to know these homes are salvageable. I’m very sensitive to cigarette smoke.
You guys turn trash into treasure and the video is a treasure as well. Thanks for another great episode.
I always appreciate the music you use on these videos - Nutcracker for the 🎄🎅🎁 House.
Delighted you found safes after all that work!
I'm amazed !!! You and Patrick sure worked hard on this place and I know you both are thrilled to be almost done. Of course now more sorting to be done at your house.
Leaving the house in very good order, well done.
Get the popcorn
Ha
Yeah boy ! Cant wait 😊🌴🍊🐊
Alexander, I’m happy for you and Pat that this hoard clean out is near completion. You both look tired and even though it appeared to be a better situation as hoarders houses go, you had to go through each and every box, and I’m sure the dust and mold affected anyone involved but I haven’t heard you cough as badly as the potters house so hopefully no lingering respiratory problems. I truly hope you make a profit as you deserve to. You seemed a little excited about finding the safes and the other containers . Excited about the reveal! My internet has been horrible lately so definitely rewatching the series when our new FAST and reliable Wifi gets installed hopefully in November. Maybe you give details about how the house creeps you out 👻👀Looking forward to Auction days and🤞 good $ totals.
Get the Pepto Bismol for Alex’s jokes.
Hi Alex. split level and Ranch are2 distinct types of houses. Ranch is one level ground floor house. Split level has stairs upon entering that go up and down. This is a split level house. I live in a ranch. One level house. I love it. Just wanted you to understand. I am a teacher and I can. Ever pass up a chance to teach. Ha ha.
One of the best parts of the adventure to me was getting to see a fairly beautiful house underneath all that stuff
You guys did a really nice job cleaning the house...I'm so excited to see what's in the safe...some really nice furniture in that home a ton of work but you did great.
I am so happy you found the safe’s and jewelry, etc! Can’t wait to see what’s in everything!
You guys did a fantastic job in that house, unbelievable❣️🙏🏻👍🏼🥰
Even though it was full to the brim....it seems to be really clean unlike most hoarders.
That's why I think the cleanout went so fast
It's shocking to see the difference with the rooms cleared out! Each of those boxes was like its own mini-hoard. It's impressive how much is finished with just a small crew. Wow!
You both have done a fantastic job!! I do love your great sense of humor!! You are both are hard workers!! Thanks for sharing!!
more interesting and entertaining then tv.
I love the little "go" from Patrick ❤
I wait every day for your next find in this house
I'd love a house like that, there's so much space!!
👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️ have to admit was relived the attic was empty too…this house was full enough! 🤗🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧💕jane
Tell Patrick his new hair cut looks great! 😍
Aww thanks
Alex ,that was awesome!!!😃🤩I'm happy you found the safes. So EXCITING.
Yay!! Can’t wait to see the safes unboxed!!
Yay safes! More excitement to come!!🍿😊🍿
This has been such an interesting series, I’ve really enjoyed it.
I am amazed that there was no sign of rodent intrusion.
Perhaps I missed it, but I’m curious about the people that lived there. Alex, can you share some background on them while protecting their privacy?
And the Corvette - what happened to that?
Winchester Mystery House - the residence of the guy that invented the rifle. His widow began adding to the mansion, and adding and adding. It’s a beautiful strange house, purported to be haunted. If you ever visit near San Jose, California, take the tour.
I paused at the 8:00 minute mark because I had to show my husband the treadle sewing machine under the cabinet. We went out to get the Tiffany model Singer a few days ago that looks almost identical to what you have there. That’s a beautiful piece very heavy and very reliable. ❤
I'm so glad this was just collections of stuff and not filth. Good job and prayers for succesful auctions! 👵💞🙏
Patrick seems to be a really nice guy.
And cute too ☺️
Just finished watching the previous one, and was wondering when you will upload the next. It was here even before my thought could be complete! 😃
Really appreciate what you and your family do. Blessings from India!
Looking good!
Awesome!🎉😊👏 just amazing how quickly you and Patrick emptied out the house. Here’s some 🍿🥤🍿🥤for a restful movie tonight.
Outstanding and very impressive!
Absolutely love your videos Alex! I have two suggestions though.
Sorting specific boxes is my favourite part- have you thought of getting a chest harness or neck phone holder for hands free shooting so we can see more of it with you having actual range of motion- and the other thing is when you’re not shooting specific content and just cleaning, Timelapse’s of the progress are really satisfying to watch. Thanks again for great content
I'm a Texan, and I'm amazed that Patrick is wearing short sleeves when it's snowing!
I look forward to the next days video. I think a shot of you, Patrick & the Predator statue standing side by side like good buddies might make an excellent Christmas card. Or Christmas post. 🎄
OMG SNOW!!! Watching from MinneSNOWta. 😉
Patrick you are looking mighty dapper with that new haircut!!
Wonderful finds!!
Great news about the safes!!! What a crazy amount of hard work you and Patrick have put into clearing out this house!! I hope the safes are profitable and your last day at the house will go quickly!!
Great job guys!!!
You guys look all in, but the place has been transformed! Great job! XXX
Was just ready for bed and yippee saw another episode ,so good to see this one produced the golden egg at last ,you soooo deserve it ,amazing amount of work
I have been packing a 8 track player around in the Trunk of my car for a year. Put those babies up for auction!
Wow so amazing and to end with a cliffhanger is perfect. Can't wait to see the safe opening! Always enjoy your videos.
I kind of love that house, especially the sauna. How sweet of the family(?) to bring you soup and cookies. You and Patrick have really done a mindblowing amount of work in such a short time.
Has anyone mentioned the name of the artist who made Predator?
