Not hating just saying dogs actually do need their whiskers to a degree, and idk why people cut them cuz a dog's whiskers are some of the first hairs to develop and they help your dog safely find their way around extremely early on. All of this means that whiskers play an important part in your dog's life, they assist with navigation and understanding the environment, support poor vision and help keep your dog safe. Actually without them a dog can be at an increased risk of face and eye injuries! It doesn't hurt dogs to cut the whiskers as the hairs don't contain any pain receptors, cutting them off could create confusion or make your dog less spatially aware. It may affect their ability to judge when objects are nearby, which will make your dog a lot less confident, just some info! Love what you do and love ur Chanel and he looks incredible, you do a great job 🤍
Absolutely correct. I shaved my dogs whiskers once and he got stuck under the seat of the car💀He couldn’t tell whether or not he could fit cause his radar whiskers were gone😂 Never did that again lol
yea I googled right after he said that like "that can't be true?" and it wasn't lol I have NEVER heard that dogs don't need their whiskers before... but it makes sense, dog anatomy vs beauty has always been kinda dumb... tail and ear clipping especially
My family has always had extra large breeds until I decided to bring a Pomeranian into the mix, while I still have an extra large breed dog I also like to have a Pomeranian, they are the little big dog, she leads the pack it is the craziest thing you’ll ever see. Watching Newfoundland‘s & great Pyrenees and great Danes follow the Pomeranian around is a blast! We don’t tell her that she’s not humongous I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t believe us anyways.(my Pomeranian now and our Pomeranian before her refused to play with little toys either, even the bones that weighed more than them and we’re bigger than them she insists on and you can’t help but take a video when she’s walking around with a bone that’s that big.)🤣
Charlie got ❤bombed by Logan! You did another fabulous job Logan! He looks absolutely fabulous and the way you handle these babies is fantastic 💜❤️💜.... The duck looks embarrassed to squirt...... Shampoo...hilarious 😅
Charlie got a complete transformation by an expert pommy groomer. His fur looks so much better with your beautiful grooming skills. These poms are so perfect for him. 🥰😍🤩
Dogs do need whiskers by the way they are like little sensors or like antennas, they send signals to the brain. Please don't trim your dogs whiskers people they are important actually! 😅
This! Yes most dogs CAN function fine without it, doesn't mean they should have to though. For puppies it's believe the whiskers help them find the mothers nipples before they can see, and for adult dogs it still helps them with their communication with other animals, with their spatial awareness and ability to move around at night, and to sense changes in the air current, therefore being able to tell if something has moved near them or if there is a turn in the weather. For the most part though as long as your dog has their sight, they can function without them.
@@softtoast8000its one of those things thats “if you can leave em alone, good, but if you cant then itll probably be okay”. Like on a dog like Charlie you can easily avoid them, but on dogs with faces that grow out a ton (like they get the long muzzle fur) i literally have no idea how one could avoid clipping at least a few whiskers, unfortunately. But yeah if possible theyre best left alone.
I didn't set out to own a pom, but just ended up with one. And her personality just amazed me everyday. They are incredible dogs and I'll now always try and own a pom.
Ive been watching you for about 3 years now and you've always been beautiful. Youre so beautiful inside and out. Thanx for helping all these sweet babies❤

You just decided to keep the whiskers? Do people actually cut off their dog's whiskers? I'm asking this as a cat person. I would not know Cute pom though! Love how round and shaped you make them 💖💕
Dog whiskers are very different from cat whiskers, they do not have any nerve endings and even shed like any other hair. Cutting them genuinely does nothing to a dog whereas it hurts cats. Cats whiskers contain nerve endings because they are by nature nocturnal ambush hunters and sensitive whiskers help them navigate at night.
@@edgy_dadster No problem, they get lumped together as the stereotypical "pet" that you can forget they're very different animals. Especially when you only have experience with one. I am such a dog person that I work with them for a living. I don't know nearly as much about cats (I like them but I'm SEVERELY allergic) but I remembered the whisker thing from watching some Jackson Galaxy videos.
@kaylawoodbury2308 got knows where you are getting your info because it's very wrong. It dosnt hurt them to cut them but the most definitely to need them and should not be cut. It's definitely taking a sense away from the dog to take them off. They are like how an insect has "feelers" some of you so called dog people tell yourself bunch of lies to continue abusing them

Ahhhh, theyre so cute...looking like super cute, real life teddy bears. I'd love to have 1 but, I just dont think I could be bothered with the extra maintenance that long haired dogs come with.
Hey Logan, many dogs *do* use their whiskers! I have been owned by 4 Australian Shepherds. My breeder once gave my first boy a “show makeover trim” at an actual show (we were showing in Obedience, whereas she was showing her girls in Conformation). That meant trimming my dog’s whiskers for the first time. We were only at the Novice level of Obedience, so having no whiskers wasn’t a problem for the show….but later, the lack of whiskers completely messed up my dog’s ability to correctly judge heights, distances, and he was unable to catch a ball of Frisbee for around 6 weeks, til the stubs of whiskers had grown out enough for him to be successful. I learned later from other Aussie owners, that most folks with dogs that work livestock or compete in different sports, should never get whiskers trimmed, because having whiskers helps them make sharper moves, avoid getting kicked by cattle, and helps them judge distances. Ever since then, my dogs have kept their whiskers, no matter what an AKC Show Judge might think!
I saw this 2 days before I took my Pom in for a bath and cut. Usually, I have him done with much more main, kinda lion/teddy bear. But this was so stinkin' cute! My new groomer is still learning (but what an amazing young man). I showed him a screen shot of this Pom. "That's what I want! ". It's a bit shorter than what you did, but my Dexter, yes named after the series, is so cute! He looks like a mini Huskie!❤
I love poms too! ❤ My parents first dog was a pom, he was 4 when I was born. (They had another dog by then, so I had two first dogs I guess? 🤷♀️) He was so protective of my older brother and me. He was first alert when we would cry, and if we got upset during diaper changes mom would have to put him in our playpen because he would get between her and us. He was awesome, sassy, and loyal. Even if he stole my mashed potatoes once. Always said I would get a pom when I grew up, but I ended up with an Akita/Pyrenees mix and a pit mix. Both definitely had loyalty in spades, my Akita mix came with built-in sassitude and she taught her brother well. 😂 Quite a size deference between what I wanted and what I ended up with though. 😂😂😂😂
I love Poms but they get kind of psychotic at times at least mine did. RIP Papa he was the king of finding big leaves 🍁 to give to you to apologize for spazzing out 😂😂😂😂
Hahaha stuffing from a teddy bear is brilliant!! I love that Pom look when they look like the cutest stuffed animal-not real like you were saying…but then you go to pet him/her and they’ll let you know they are in fact real and if he’s anything like my best friend’s-his name was Reggie and she took him EVERYWHERE….he passed away and it’s been hard for her because her and her family have been through A LOT and she held onto Reggie like a lifeline-Reggie didn’t like me too much though lol which fueled me more to mess with him lol NOT IN A BAD WAY!! I’m not like that but my friend and I would laugh and she’d talk in her baby weird but only for Reggie voice and be like is she being mean to you, things like that. But I loved messing with him because if there’s ever been the BIGGEST diva alive it was him!! Omg he was so diva…and actually that word was made because of him-you can look it up…no Jk!! But he was such a butt! RIP Reggie 💜🙏🏼
Tbh, that's what I would have probably thought about Aussie Cattle Dogs had I done a bit of research before adopting my baby. Hearing they nip a ton and have way too much energy, I woulda worried I would never be able to handle her. Not only have we trained the nipping out of her, but she also is a semi-service dog for me, able to crowd control (circle me so my people claustrophobia doesn't kick off), but she also can give DPT, tell me when to take a break or sit if she knows my anxiety is getting high, can take my med bottles to me, and also is just a massive, easily excitable goofball and I love her to the ends of the Earth. Not that I'm saying you have to get a Pom, just that you might find that one perfect pom someday, and to not be scared to give it a shot. It's their environment and training and the owner they have that makes a dog the way they are, not counting personalities of course. Some are just pills either way, but nine times outta ten, the yippy aggressive little dogs are that way because no one taught them there are times to talk and play, and times to chill, and times to rest. They just got enabled for all their younger years and never got corrected because their owners don't wanna put that effort in sadly. We had a gorgeous purebred Yorkie (someone was gonna put her down, so we adopted her and paid the vet bills bc it was just her two toe pins that were too expensive, otherwise she was super healthy) and she was the most chill and bubbly and loving little lap dog. She even got to keep our kitten company when he first came home and was too little and sick to meet our other two cats, and he still misses her as much as we do. Such a good, sweet little dog, you'd never guess she was a yorkie purely off of behavior, more like a snuggly playful cat, hah! Just another example of dogs reflecting owners, hah. If it lines up, go for it, but don't feel pressured of course ^^
