Unless you tested all of the trucks with the same tires, it's not an apple to apple comparison. The price range on a new truck is ridiculous on all brands. I found that the best way to go when buying a used truck is to avoid buying one at a dealer. Where I live, we have one of those truck ‘mega dealers’ that absolutely gouge the customers with over inflated prices. Their lots are always full, mostly selling used Dodge, Ford, & Chevy. It’s not often you’ll find a Toyota on the lot, (probably because they last forever), which says something about their longevity, IMO. Before buying from a dealer I’d suggest hunting down a used truck online or wherever, you’ll save thousands of dollars & you won’t have to deal with an insane markup or crooked dealers looking to jack your wallet. There’s not a lot of honesty at those ‘mega dealer’ places.

      I’ve had all four brands of full size trucks, I’m a mechanical technician for high vacuum sputtering systems and more recently missile systems with only a year of experience as an automotive mechanic in college, out of the truck the most relaible and best performing truck was my Ram with the 5.7 hemi, it lasted me 657k miles before the head gasket went out. It was very easy and inexpensive to fix because of the pushrod design . This would be an absolute nightmare to do is my sequoia because of the absolutely unnecessary overhead cam layout with a dumb number of valves. Toyota obviously doesn’t care about their trucks because they haven’t been updated in over a decade and have less gears than all other brand by up to 4 speeds. They get far worse gas milage, they haul less, they tow less and no they’re not any more reliable. All of the trucks mentioned are great trucks and it would be silly to hate on anyone of them but the Toyota is just so ancient in design and has the worst performance in every aspect compared to its competitors. If you can name one single reason why the Toyota is superior to the others then please let me know but it would obviously be a pretty unimportant item due to the fact that I already mentioned the most important items and the Toyota loses by a mile In all of those ways, the rest of the brands also offer eco diesel options, turbo options and also hybrid electric options. I get it though, most people don’t know much about trucks and they want to get the Toyota because they’ve always heard that toyotas are reliable and they are afraid to be let down by their truck. If you have knowledge from experience and research it’s very obvious that no one would ever choose the Toyota.

    I was going to buy a Tundra. But I chose the Ram Rebel instead. I love the exterior and interior of my Ram. It’s fun to drive, rough on the road since it’s an off road truck, aggressive tires, safe to drive in the snow , hard rain and flood. I bought it brand new and my only complaint that it had electrical issues after driving it 15k miles. I couldn’t start it. But it was covered under warranty so the dealer fixed it in less than a week. Now it has over 22k and drives good (Knock on wood). Don’t get me wrong. Toyota is reliable. I owned a Prius, then RAV4 and finally Highlander. But Toyota’s driver’s seat is stiff. The interior is outdated compared to Ram. You want something good to look at when you drive.

Long story short the f150 road the worse and the ram road the best. All trucks had leather and big v8s the. Chevy by far in my opinion was the worst truck I test drove. I ended up getting the tundra. I ended with the tundra because it’s reliability, depreciation, ride quality, interior quality,interior durability, and room. My truck is a 17 limited crewmax and my lord the room inside is insane. The only downside is gas mileage, but I only live 2 miles from work so a full tank of gas last me about a month.

I'm a Ford owner and like it very much but it just dawned on me this morning there's a large market share here they're losing. As of now you can get a very modest FX4 package or make the decision to go all the way up to a raptor (from Ford dealers). If they want to keep their sales numbers I think it'd be wise if they joined this game. Any thoughts?

    The best value is the Trailboss. 18-19 mpg and reliability is really good overall. Also, I got 10k off MSRP. So it’s cheaper than the other two Trucks. Toyota being most expensive with NO incentives. I’d probably go old school and pick the TRD Pro tank IF I could get that same 10k off MSRP but that will never happen. Ram has best interior but that will never change my mind on Chrysler and their reputation on lack of reliability. When I’m old I will buy a used Tundra and that will be my last truck for now my midlife requires the Trailboss.

    • @MrSbionage
      @MrSbionage 2 года назад +1

      How’s the Trail Boss treating you now? What engine do you have? Been hearing tons of horror stories about blown motors at less then 30k miles on the 6.2 and 5.3 and a class action lawsuit filed due to the DFM system causing lifters to fail which is absolutely disgusting and should’ve been long addressed by now but still silence on GMs end so far. I love the look of the Chevys but can’t risk buying one with that possibility...bring back the pure V8s across the board. Stop all this nonsense to try to save a few mpg...we don’t buy trucks for fuel mileage, we’re well aware they don’t do well and I don’t expect any more then 15mpg. If you want to mess with the midsize trucks for that since people tend to buy them for SUV replacements that may occasionally use the bed or tow a light trailer to pick up mulch at Home Depot I’d go that route. But the vast majority of people buying “full size” trucks don’t want turbo 4 cylinders that will inevitably have turbo issues down the road vs a V8, or an underpowered V6 as “standard” you have to beat the piss out of to get the thing moving. At the very least just make these stupid fuel management systems have a switch so we can turn them off from the factory. I’ll be going Ram since I had a 2011 with no major issues and their system was just annoying but never gave me any trouble in the 120k miles I had it...just put it in manual mode and it wouldn’t shut any cylinders down. Well that turned into a rant😅 hope you got a good Chevy brother they’re veeeery nice on the outside!

      @@MrSbionage No problems at all been an amazing truck so far. Mine was built in America and been flawless. I also have seen many issues with this drm lifter stuff and since I am coming up on the point where factory warranty is about to expire soon I am looking hard at switching to 2022 Tundra possibly soon. I know they are ttv6 but it is Toyota and they make great products that last a long while. Rams 10 year cost to own is the highest among all trucks for some reason so even though they are beautiful inside and out I would probably buy an F150 with 5.0 v8 or just risk another Chevy and go with the big boy 6.2. All trucks have potential for issues and if you want something modern and updated you’ll have to take the risks with anything. Only way you’ll more than likely have a hell of a reliable truck is to buy a Tundra before 22 model year with the 5.7 V8 but it’s old school and I need to have a the modern tech and features as well as better ride quality and handling. I still may keep the Trailboss as I absolutely love it and honestly even if I have to send it to the shop for a few months and spend money to fix it still may be cheaper than trying to buy a new truck in todays market. Good luck with your truck shopping hope this helped. Thanks.
