    I have this guitar in the white six string version (JBM10FX) and had an Evertune bridge upgraded onto it. Such a sick guitar. High quality even as a non prestige model.

    the titan pickups are made by dimarzio, ibanez had no part in its development.

    Hey man,
    i just bought JBM 27, and i want to tonne it standard , can you help pls

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  5 лет назад +2

      Mohamed Ezzeldien Sure! There’s a few ways to go about it, the strings they send from factory are a heavier gauge, so I’d start by putting a set of 9 or 10 gauge strings on it, that will help balance the tension on the tremolo.
      While you are putting the strings on, block the tremolo with a piece of wood or something and tune the guitar up.
      After that, carefully remove the block (the strings will go out of tune) and adjust the trem until the strings are in tune.
      You shouldn’t need to add or remove springs from the back hopefully.
      It’s a fiddly thing to do, so if you can’t hack it, take it to a guitar shop, they would be able to help :)

    Did you stain the fretboard to look like Ebony? It looks black in the part where you're playing clean tones.

    If it just had a normal 25.5" scale... I play in standard tuning... Maybe if I use 009s I can tune it standard even with the longer scale? What you think? I'm used to 010s in standard

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  2 года назад +1

      I’ve used 10 in standard with no issues, it’s taken well to anything I’ve tried. Scale length hasn’t presented any issues for me :)

    Hi Jamie, in comparison with Sterling JP157 - what guitar you would choose? I know, that they are totaly different models, but from the sound anspect, tuning stability aspect and craftsmanship side?

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  2 года назад +1

      Hey Mirek! To be honest I almost always reach for the Sterling these days!

    Hi, just discovered your channel. Great review, I already own one of these beauties.
    The only thing I have trouble with is setting up the action on the bridge, have you changed it and if yes, how do you do it? The stud bolts are insanely tight in my case and I can't do anything with them.

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  6 лет назад

      Thanks! Nice to have you on board :)
      It’s trial and error if I’m honest! I spent a few hours setting up this beastie to Bb standard. Do you think you may have bottomed the bridge out?

    • @Jn1spion
      @Jn1spion 6 лет назад

      Damn, must've been hard, even just changing strings gets annoying. Sometimes it feels like you are some sort of space engineer
      Honestly I doubt that's the issue since I can't even raise the action. It feels worst at the higher parts of the fretboard (12+ frets) on higher strings.

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  6 лет назад

      Maybe there’s bowing in the neck? Take it to a guitar tech and they’ll be able to tell! I hope you can get it sorted :)

    • @Jn1spion
      @Jn1spion 6 лет назад

      Yes maybe, but something must be wrong with the bridge anyway. Thanks for the response. You did this guitar a justice!

    Does the trem provide better tuning stability? I'm eyeing this for a 7, but I've heard trems are a pain to setup too

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  4 года назад

      Surrey Hey, the tubing stability is great! No issues there, setup is the same as any other floyd-like trem! It is a pain but once it’s done, you shouldn’t have to worry about it too often

    How do you feel about the longer scale length compared to the music man?

    • @jamiefordmusician
      @jamiefordmusician  2 года назад

      I do find the MM more easy to play, but the Ibanez is far from uncomfortable!

      @jamiefordmusician  6 лет назад +1

      Konstantin Morozov Thank you! Welcome aboard!!
      I can only really speak for the one I own, which is built beautifully! It’s as nice to play as my JP7!
      Whether that applies to all of the JBM’s out there, I’m not sure.
      However, I’m yet to see a poor review, so I’d imagine they’re fairly consistent :)
