All New Materials intro is a nugget that will never die. I dig it
That song is on my bucket list to fully learn.
its got dat purr
love that clean patch. :)
but tone is in the beard :O
tonebeard is yes
That clean tone on the neck was beautiful
When he demo'd the neck pickup I was sold.
I bought the Titan set for a strandberg guitar i made in school and they're insanely good
Punchy clear warm deep and versatile :)
Insane set of pickups!
Maybe consider releasing the 8 string set as i and a few people would buy those as well!
*HE PLAYED THE NEW MATERIALS CHORDS SLOWLY* 2:09
Will be buying a set next month. Can't wait!
literally the best pickup in the world I've never owned one DiMarzio Iiterally bought a cheap ibanez that ended up being a great guitar rg6003 and bought the titans and it sounds bloody amazing I'm very proud how articulate they sound very versatile pickup thanks Larry D you struck gold and jake yiu da man
Purriphery
Okay but 2:09 those effects added made me wanna cry. 😭
I'm trying to find a pedal that can do those cleans but still struggling ! I know Strymon Ice gets close but I can't justify £400 for one sound !
@@omegasunn look into the new Horizon Devices Delay pedal! It’s like $200 brand new so used on Reverb I think they’re like 160-180
Thanks Jake
Dem clean tones! Lovely! So bright, and clear! This is atmospheric awesomeness at its best! Periphery is still, the best band in the world right now!
That Petrucci beard is starting to come in haha
Makes sense as John is Jake's uncle!
Sam Delanoe I know (even if not by blood), hence why I called it a Petrucci beard and not just a beard. It seems inspired by his uncle for sure.
Sam Delanoe only by marriage not by blood.. So the beard gene is merely Jake's.
idk why, but everytime I hear that first clean riff Jake plays, it reminds me of every Square Enix game I've played.
"we simplified our dirty tone. then we just fucked up our clean with reverb and multi delay." love it
So, fucking... killer! Cannot wait to get a pair of these!
Hi Larry! How do you know how to place for example the bridge pup? Both sides are identical, so does the evos etc etc.. So how do you realize the correct way tu install them? (not how to recognize a bridge from a neck pup, im talking about just in one possition)
Cool nice sound
1:49 i fell in love with Periphery because their cleans...is just so....psychodelic...spaceship like...😍
how can i get that effect/sound? which pedals or delay do you think it is
James Hastie reverb and delays like he sed
@@jameshastie4086 strymon timeline has an engine called ice which does this sound
Hello larry! I have a Korina Body Maple neck guitar, i wanted to go with the X2N ( B) tone zone S (N) like Mike Romeo, but right now i think the Titan would be a better bridge pickup choice, for versatility firsat of all. What do you think? also balance of volume between neck and bridge is a big thing ( big fan of the superswitch)! Tank you and keep going with your great products!
will the 7 string version of this fit into an ebmm majesty? or do you have to route it?
Is there a 8 string version in the works?
I'm looking for a 7 string counterpart for the Dominion. Would these be closer than the Illuminators/Ionizers/Imperiums?
I have a 6 string version of this, and I can tell you that this video doesn't come close to doing them justice. They sound awesome.
Can it do punk rock like Circle jerks? Or is it strictly a metal HB?
@@massttrshrdrharmonicminor2002 yes great midrange but not over powered
that beard is godly
JunkieMonkey321 I see some John Petrucci infuence!
I put some titans in my 6 string and I can say with absolute certainty that they are the best purchase I have ever made. I don't know what sort of black magic you're using to make your pickups, but I need more of it.
Hi can this be bought with the gold pickup covers? I can't seem to find it on the selection for 7 seven strings. Thank you.
www.dimarzio.com/pickups/7-string/titan-7-neck
I need an 8 string set dammit!
Did you get one?
Hi Larry, I wanted to know if you could recommend me a versatile HSS combo for an Ibanez RG560, please.
Greetings and keep making awesome products ;)
Everytime I check online to see his signature Ibanez, only the cheaper Indonesian models seem to be available. Is the Japanese prestige model (like he has in this video) also available?
I remember him saying his seven string was made by their custom shop in LA and then they based his signature six string on that. Also what pickups do you use in your 7 string? I've seen you on Tosin's and Chris Letchford's videos before so we have a similar taste in music and I was thinking we might have a similar ear for tone. Chris and Tosin both use a SD Nazgul and Sentient set but I was thinking of using a crunch lab or Dsonic instead for the bridge.
Man, I wish he would have played that open G#...
I have a Strandberg Boden OS7 and am looking into getting new pickups for it, and these were the first on the list to get. If I were to purchase these pickups, would I be able to fit them to the guitar, or would there be any routing that I'd need to get done? I mean, aside from new electronics.

Is it me or does the poles on the neck pickup don't align to his strings. The bridge looks fine. Or is it the camera angles? Anyways, I have the 6 string version of these and are by far my favorite pups
Will these fit in a kiesel Aries 7 ?
“It’s got that purr”
I just bought these pickups, getting rid of my bare knuckle brute force pickups, they are decent pickups, just a little too dry and weak and trebley for my taste, I want that tight low and dark chug, I found my prrrrrr lol!
You like em?
what was that song at the beginning?
wheresallthezombies flatline
How would these sound in an ash body guitar? Super harsh or still punchy and clear?
The Nordling probably the difference would be very subtle, and the overall sound would still kick ass lol
nice you get that bit more low end from the 7 th string cool sound nice guitar
Anyone know the chords he used in the clean bits?
look up the tabs to "all new materials" - it's the intro
nirnroot I fucking love you
did he just explain my dream last night?
What song is the riff at the beginning from?
Flatline.
lol
What is the delay pedal at 1:48?
MarkToast Its a Fractal AxeFX Patch but a Earthquaker Devices Afterneath sounds similar
the ice engine on the strymon timeline is the one that will get this sound. I've been looking ever since this video came out and I just got one!
0:43 Djent, Djent, Djent, Djent, Djent! Djent!... :D
Anyone know the effects he is using on the clean demo?
It sounds like a Strymon Bluesky for the verb.
@rec cordes lol
@Josh Simms sounds like he is using a crystal pitch delay and a reverse delay from the Axe FX II and ofcourse various reverbs.
It's an axe fx patch, but if you don't want one of those , the strymon timeline has the ice engine which can do it
Can u send me one of these sets for my bday next Monday pls and thank u
dat purr
1:49 for cleans
"It's got dat purr"
I've looked at Ibanez's website and have not been able to find the Titan 7 with an ebony fretboard. Anybody willing to help me out ?
Dr. Guitars the titan 7 with the ebony fretboard is a private stock model, I think there are only 2 of them, an american custom shop one, and a japanese one, both belong to jake. The only titan 7 string production model is the JBM27, made in indonesia(I think). Its kind of the 7string version of the cheaper 6 string titan, the jbm20. Ik Im late, but i hope it helped a bit. :)
What does he play at 1:50?
Not sure but its f'n awesome!
i did a little bit of research and apparently he plays this: www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/periphery-jake-bowen-clean-passage-tab-s396545t0
Not off Isometric, likely a demo he did that was never released.
So like, you know how djent used to just be a word to describe a certain guitar tone, but now it's turned into an entire genre of music... Wonder how long until purr becomes a genre...
trufisp1 Yikes, dude. You've got problems.
flips220 what did he comment?
Swear to good if Ibanez puts out that exact guitar you're playing I'll be the first to buy it!
It's the Ibanez JBM27
They already did
It's the JBM 100. It's the real deal
@@this_Dream-SBR bleh that one doesnt have the ebony fretboard like Jake's guitar. It's got that ugly ass rosewood or jatoba or whatever.
Beautiful guitar jbm27
Is his 7 string a baritone or same scale as the 6 string? (25.5)
26.5
"They want that purr" Check out Diezel amps! Perhaps the best purr!
Yeah and also cost as much as a down payment on a damn car. Lol
ugh I would buy that guitar in an INSTANT if it did not have a floyd rose :(
Trust me dude, that Edge bridge is fantastic to play. Similar to a Floyd but plays and feels 100x better and I find it's far easier than a Floyd to string and deal with.
Had a great deal of fun with this guitar when I had one for about 3 weeks, would buy one in a heartbeat, and I ONLY use hardtail bridges normally. I think this guitar is my exception.
OwenNinjah the bridge in that isnt the edge, its the edge zero II, lower profile, but a bit lower quality
Not to mention, Ibanez also made the locking nut super ergonomic. Usually the OFR parts (bridge and locking nut) are super sharp and uncomfortable especially if you bump into them. Ibanez locking trems and the locking nuts are super ergonomic.
TheSeductiveGiraffe if you have enough for that guitar, I'm sure you have enough money for a tremol-no 😂
TheSeductiveGiraffe Hey now Ibanez makes sick floating trems. My RG350DX has an edge pro III on it and it absolutely rocks!
Just from me@#yeah
Holy voice compression
Heh... "purr." I had a different name for it, but I think I like "purr" better
hah 4:20
Album availiable? come on lmao
having petrucci vibes…
4 dislikes because legitimately broke lmao
i'll say Periphery's guitars are.
Jake: cleans
Mark: main riff
Misha: Solos and breakdowns
That's not really how it works...
Mark: Complex chording
Misha: Djent
Jake:Both and soloing
