For all of you that want to buy one I’d say it could be a little bit better for the price of £299. I found one for £175 on internet sale which is much more fairer price. It does work and can cool a room . Please note the device has an extraction hose for water and air which needed to be fitted to a bucket and window. The air coming out is warm air being extracted hence why it’s important to extract the air properly or your just pumping warm air back into the room. It’s lowest setting is 16c however does take a good hour or two to cool the room. Don’t put the hose at the bottom that’s for the dehumidifier, take the rubber grommet off and place the hose on the centre outlet. Good luck with our tropical weather peeps I’m already looking forward to bed 🤣
Exactly this, the hose needs to be attached to the middle outlet which isn’t even mentioned in the instructions but once that was done no leaks and worked perfectly. It did kick out a fair amount of water which didn’t surprise me with the humidity in this weather!
@@Channel567-7 mine leaked constantly even when it had just been drained, from the centre outlet. Only way I could stop it was to attach the hose and have it drain into a bucket. Then it worked perfectly.
@@Channel567-7 there is a rubber seal that goes over the drain but it was leaking around it. This is the 5000btu one. Not the same model as yours. It didn’t matter as like I said it worked perfectly draining into the bucket.
I bought one of these from The range few days ago. Slept with it during the night last night with our new record breaking temperatures and didn’t want to leave the room in the morning as the rest of the house was too warm 🤣
You can set it to 16deg on aircon setting which is lowest it goes, but that doesn't mean it will achieve that setting, obviously the hotter the outside temperature the harder the unit has too work,if I had to say a negative it would be that it's quite noisy, but when its 30+degrees outside&you walk into your room which is 18 degrees you really don't care if it bit noisy, I couldn't live without it now&my cats are the happiest on our street
I dunno if mine is broken because i am having to empty the tank a few times a day, but im up on a first floor flat and have it going out of the window in my back bedroom, also what is that black thing stuffed into the filter you showed at the end
I’ve just come across this video. Whats the lowest temperature you can set it to on the cool setting please? Would you say it effectively cools a room down?
I bought one. I didn't even make it 2 months before it started short cycling. Cleaned the filters and checked the coils, everything is fine. Still won't work!
I sit with it facing right towards me as opposed to having it cooling an entire room so I often end up turning ti off because it makes me too cold. Even for a small unit, it does very well in a bedroom.
We have just bought one of these and it works amazingly! My only issue is that it is leaking water from the rubber plug in the middle next to the vent. I’ve put the drain hose in there and that seems to have fixed the issue and it’s draining a little bit into a jug rather than dripping down the back of the machine. There is no mention whatsoever of this rubber plug in the book! I’ve also drained it from the bottom. I’m guessing it’s because of how high the humidity is right now!
@@Kerbtree yeah it’s odd that it isn’t mentioned in the instructions as obviously cooling very hot air produces a lot of water! As long as I have the hose connected to the middle outlet next to the vent it works perfectly!
how would you rate the noise in terms of other portable AC units? it sounds really loud on the video, but i dont know if thats just because you are recording so close to the unit. thanks!
It is rather loud even on the lower setting, but the cost and effectiveness is so good I’m. It bothered. I also like to leave it on when I’m out the room then turn it off when I’m back or about to go sleep.
what is the lowest temp for the cool air con mode as you did not turn it down but just left it at 22 or is 22 the lowest? i am just comparing it to works one which goes down to 19

@@ChrismasKitchen thank you but I have it sorted now. Had to buy a window kit from Amazon for normal windows. On the plus side I now have the unit working and it’s brilliant.
Hi, what's the max wattage this device draws upon startup? Would love to power this with my solar panels but anything over 1000w will trip the power supply and I know a lot of air con units spike in watts when they first start up.
560w consumption, might draw more momentarily when the compressor boots up. Max cooling power is 1500w/5000BTU's as it has a SEER rating of 2.7 (Cooling is 2.7xconsumption)

I tried to turn it on by the control panel and it wouldn’t and the high and low green lights were both on but slightly dimmed. You have to move it by hand
@@ChrismasKitchen thanks very much 🤝
Is this an AC unit that you need to add water to? Or is it a proper one? Ty
It's a proper one with a compressor and hot air vent. An absolute life saver in the heat.
I have pop out windows so can I just hang the hose head out of the window like many people I see do without sealing everything up?
It would be more efficient to seal the window up.
Oh don't forget to add tubes to the back for excess moisture to drain out
How do you fit to a typical UK window which opens out at 90 degrees?
Maybe just open it enough to fit the block and tape up the edges with masking tape. I use masking tape to edge it and stop hit air from streaming in
Have you had any issues with it not working long term? Or is it still working well?
Hi, I've never had any issues, I added some tubes to the outlet pipes on the back and it ran so much better
