Your braids look SO GOOD. I’m not pressing my hair either. I have been living in the steam room at the gym, so ain’t nothing pressed about my hair this season 😂
And to answer your question about what a silk press is. It’s when you straighten your hair with minimal products along with a great technique that causes the hair to come out looking like SILK honey. Hopefully this helps. A lot of things being called a silk press arent that. Blow outs are blows out and silk presses are in their own category.
A concentrator nozzle on a blow dryer is a must. It'll lay the cuticle of the hair much better. It'll take your blow dry from great to phenomenal. As for Color Wow, from my understanding, it is not a leave-in conditioner, but it does offer heat protection. I apply it to freshly washed hair, then apply Kenra's Daily Provision Leave-in.
@@Jeannette0890 oooooh so the wow is just a coating. So what’s the point of a leave in conditioner if the leave in can’t get to the hair with it being covered with that lol
@SharatiaBanks it makes it easier for me to detangle my hair. The Colorwow doesn't provide my hair with much slip. The Kenra Daily-Provision leave-in is fluid, just like Color Wow. So, it doesn't add extra weight to the hair. My hair still comes out silky.
12:20 answering the "what is a silk press" question. I think the answer to this varies from person to person I personally have always thought of the silk press more so as the result. If it looks like "glass hair" a.k.a. flowy, shiny, lots of movement and bounce strand by strand, then that I would consider a silk press. Also, I would never consider a blowout a silk press. Which probably contradicts what I just said in terms of it being more about the result lol. But whatever. I came across a video where they claimed silk presses require a hot comb. And everyone in the comments agreed. I do NOT agree with that definition at all. I think it's about the hair looking flowy, shiny with lots of movement. A flat iron can certainly achieve a silk press as good as a hot comb can when done well. Example of what I'd consider silk press/glass hair ruclips.net/video/fJ5NXtV3TYg/видео.html she did use a hot comb which might also contradict what I said earlier. But she has a keratin treatment that resulted in the extra shiny, silk press look.
lol at the Queen Latifah commentary. I just WISH she would do a video with her doing her hair or tell us the secret 😂 even in Living Single the hair was always immaculate. She even wore single/mini braids one episode
Love your content Sharatia! You're an inspiration. I'm a skeptic about some of these tiktoks, though. How did Jazmyn's hair go from the top of the seat to nearly touching the metal on the seat between the blow out and the silk press when her hair was already straight and her ends needed to be trimmed? The hair is gorgeous whether there are extensions or not, and it looks healthy and heat trained regardless, and the salon experience looks fantastic.
@@Jennj96 THANKS!!! 🤗🤗🤗 and right! I needsssss that salon experience in my life right now! and I suppose I hadn’t notice that she had so much shrinkage before
@@SharatiaBanks yeah sticking with what you know, especially if you had great results the last time is probably good advice. But slyly, I would love love love to see a video with you and Narada. 😅
Sometimes when is see through it’s not so much thin as it is fine. There a difference, thin hair is more along the lines of losing it where as fine hair is dense but not as thick or the stands are not as corse as others. Two people can have the same length hair and one could be fine and the other thick and they could have the same amount of strands but one looks more dense than the other, but the strands would be different with one being more corse than the other. So see through may just be fine hair.
