Katana was never the favoured weapon of Samurai. There was a lack of good quality iron in Japan, hence Katanas were expensive and inferior swords. Samurai preferred Bow and Arrow and spears as their main weapons, resorting to Katana only as a last ditch effort.

In Polynesia/Micronesia and Melanesia including Hawaii we all were warriors. It just wasn’t recorded on paper fast enough 🤣🤣🤣 But we know what we were and who we are and where we’re from.
Perhaps more in modern times
The Maori went toe to toe with the biggest superpower of the day, they were part timers against full time professional soldiers, they were outnumbered 5/1.The British had the most advanced weapons with the biggest cannons at the time, they had the worlds first rifles,an endless supply of munitions. The British had the worlds first telegraph for communications they also had naval ships, the Maori could only have a couple of thousand warriors at any given time in the field.Around the same time the British used 30,000 troops and 25,000 troops to conquer China and India and the biggest cannons they used there were 15 mm the cannons against the Maori were 15 mm to 110 mm and the British had to use 22,000 troops plus Maori tribes loyal to the crown in the first war the British were out thought and out engineered in the second war they were out fought and out smartered all against the most minority race on the planet who were the most lethal hand to hand fighters or at least one of in the history of mankind. The Zulu, the Gurkhas, the Sikh, the Apache all outnumbered the British the Maori didn’t,so definitely the Maori should be on this list. The Maori were some of the biggest and strongest peoples of the time, they were just as berserk as the Viking berserker and they had the fighting statergies of the Spartans but they had a better diet, they also and still do eat natural steroids, they are stoic, intelligent, cunning, ferocious, agile, athletic, staunch, honourable, and brilliant war strategies not bad for a Stone Age people they definitely deserve to be on the list.
Spartans, always gotta be the best
I think you missed out on Attila the Hun, at one time the Huns ruled most of Europe , and every fall Attila took his army to Constantinople and threatened the Romans if they didn't give them what they wanted they would attack. Every time the Roman's gave them everything.
No Native American warriors?!? Comanche? Apache? Sioux? The archery skills of Comanches alone was something to behold.
Follow up with a part 2.
Viking Berserkers
The janissary corps would be a worthy addition to the list
1.Knights🥇
2.Vikings🥈
3.Romans 🥉
If in NYC.....it is definitely the Warriors.
Like a true Spartan would say "Take from them everything and give them nothing"
The Mauryas of India, The Hittites, the Assyrian warriors and the Jennisaries of Turkey were also the among the best warriors of their times
Berserkers were the least of your worries when dealing with large war bands and even bigger viking armies... It was the Ulfhednar that you needed to keep your guard up against.
