I remember reading about Dian Wei back when I was younger and played Dynasty Warriors for the first time. Apparently he was so massive that in order to keep up with his thirst and appetite, and entire squad of servants was assigned to him exclusively during banquets. He used to fight using to helberds weighting about 20kg each and he once lost his weapons so he grabbed an enemy soldier and started swinging the bastard around as a weapon. During his last battle, he covered for his lord Cao Cao retreat during an ambush. He by himself held the bridge against countless enemies long enough to allow his lord to escape. Even after they eventually took him down, the enemy soldiers were so scared that they didn't dare to approach him, even if he was dead. I don't know how much of this is true, but he sure seemed like a dangerous fella to meet in combat
One of Samson's most impressive feats that the Bible almost casually mentions: His enemies were laying in wait to capture him after he'd had a night of boning a Philistine woman (literally sleeping with the enemy). The gate to the city was locked. Samson, unperturbed, RIPS THE GATE OUT OF THE GROUND, and carries it several miles back home. Understandably, the men waiting to ambush him decided in favor of the better part of valor that day.
@@raviiigotbanned4617Yes he was because "biblical" is history, people gotta stop separating the two. A lot of history has either been hidden or destroyed.
Worth mentioning, Khalid al-Walid fought against the Sassanids and Byzantines after those two forces were depleted by decades of devastating war against one another. The best warriors of both armies were likely dead at that point, and forces were also likely using battered equipment that could not afford to be replaced anytime soon. This goes a long way in explaining how Khalid was able to win the Battle of Yarmuk where he was outnumbered and breaking combatant equipment. That said, his feats are still incredible, and his reputation as one of history's greatest commanders up there with the Mongol's Sabutai, Napoleon and Alexander is still well deserved.
The Rashidun Caliphate had just emerged from the Ridda Wars, a series of internal conflicts, during which many of its best warriors had perished as well. In fact, so many of the Prophet’s companions who had memorized the Quran were killed that Caliph Abu Bakr had to commission the compilation of the Quran to preserve it. Additionally, Abu Bakr banned tribes that had previously apostatized from joining the wars, a restriction that remained in place until the later period of Umar's rule. So from the perspective of the Rashidun Caliphate, they were just a few weakened Arab Bedouin tribes confronting the two strongest empires of the time, the Byzantines and Persians combined, who had allied against them. Despite this, the Muslim forces achieved remarkable success: the Persian Empire ceased to exist, and much of Roman territory was taken. The expansion didn’t stop there-the Arabs continued their campaigns, reaching southern Paris in the west and China in the east, all within a single generation of the Sahaba (the Prophet's companions).
You should also mention that the muslims that faught byzantine and sassanides were literally a bunch of nomads and weren't that much experienced when it comes to wars and for him to win against larger numbers and better equipements is increadible and the empires being weaker doen't make it less impressive

It is sad to see that Diego Garcia de Paredes, nicknamed Spanish Hercules and Extremaduran Samson, isnt on this list. He is a top contender here. It is to be expected since there is almost nothing in english about him. I Know of him by accident from a Quora answer and the only other english source is a Tv Tropes page. For everything else i had to translate Spanish to English. He fought in 30 battled of all kinds and He won 300 duels to the death in his lifetime. He was 2,06meters tall and he is repeatedly noted for his borderline superhuman Strength. He killed by himself 500 Frenchman on a bridge while being almost uninjured. He led 11 spanish knights in a challenge against 11 french knights led by Pierre Terrail de Bayard, who could also be a contender on this list since he stalled 200 Spaniards at a bridge by himself. The Spaniards however gave the French a thorough thrashing. The judges proposed to end the contest in a draw but Diego Garcia refused, having broken his lance and his sword he started pelting the french with heavy boundary stones making Pierre Terrail and the french knights fled. The French called him the Great Devil. When attacking a Turkish Stronghold, he was brought in by the Turks via a Crane who picked off soldiers one by one this way. Diego however while inside repelled the castles garrison for 3 days killing many of them before being taken captive due to exhaustion and hunger. He broke out of his chains and cell and killed the turks from the inside again when he heard the Spaniards assaulting the walls again, helping take the castle. It was claimed that he killed more people in that battle then the rest of the army put together. He was Hired by Emperor Maximilian as maestre de campo. He was Bodygurd for Emperor Charles 5 and for a time for Pope Alexander VI. He fought against multiple opponents at once and there is more but these are his most impressive displays.

Very interesting collection of warriors! One thing I'd note though about Musashi, while he may well be the greatest katana master duelist of his age, the worship of the katana was formed during peacetime, and during the actual bloody battlefield of the Sengoku era, it was just a backup weapon (spears and bows were the weapon of choice), and in the real war one of the most notable samurai was Honda Tadakatsu, who is said to have never suffered any single wound despite participating in a total of 57 military campaign throughout his life, earning the title "The Warrior who surpassed Death itself".
This is my favourite video of all time! I’ve been trying to find out for months who’s the greatest warrior of all time. Thank you so much for this video. The only thing I found out from trying to figure out who was the greatest warrior. Was that Mike Tyson wants to fight Achilles. Because he thinks Achilles was the greatest warrior ever. But after watching this video I do think that that title belongs to William Marshal
Musashibō Benkei would have been a good mention he was a Japanese warrior monk said to have won 999 duels with samurai ( each time collecting there swords ) without defeat until his 1000th where he lost to a samurai who he then served under and later gave his life to buy the samurai time to commit seppuku as they were turned on and being invaded by a massive force in which he to buy time stood on a narrow bridge where he apparently killed over 300 soldiers to defend the bridge and then when the soldiers came to the conclusion it was not working they resorted to arrows so the monk guy “apparently” using his naginata just stood there balancing his weapon in a way so that once all the arrows hit him he remained standing to by more time even though after firing another volley of arrows into him some of the soldiers were told to go up to him where they realized he had already died and had before his death balanced himself so he would remain standing The samurai he served under was a samurai feudal lord named Minamoto no Yoshitsune
Great video but I think if it was Musashi vs Marshall , each un armored and with the sword of their choice , I think Musashi has my vote , Musashi defeated an entire school by himself after he killed their two masters in duel
In today times ... MMA fighters Stipe Miočić, Francis Ngannou, Fedor Emelianenko, John Jones, GSP, Khabib Nurmagomedov ... Firearms military and special forces ... Moders warriors
Should keep legend and history separate. Achilles is in the "magically invincible" tier with Lohengrin and Sun Wukong. Obviously the mere mortals on this list would be outmatched.

The best part of this is that you actually use sources. Lots of modern “history channels” on RUclips cite nothing, and it’s honestly hilarious that you do, and are thus more credible than them.
Another thing to mention, during Miyamoto’s time, guns were already spreading across Japan. The Average soldiers were heavily armored, a fact that was closing the gap between Samurai and normal soldiers. Samurai were primarily mounted warriors who specialized in ranged combat, unlike many of the European Countries. During William’s time, the armor was no where near as good as 15th century armor, the very armor which the Japanese were starting to adapt from the Europeans, though that wouldn’t have been an issue during Miyamotos duels.
I’m very impressed by this video this kind of videos suits you well keep up the good work! Ps since I’m a bit of a history warrior nerd I assumed William was going to be the winner cheers!
While some of these are unbelievable, lets not forget we have confirmed accounts from several modern factions where soldiers kill dozens of men armed with guns single handedly because they said "fuck it im dying anyways". So I imagine some un named crazy fuck inhistory probably racked up a bodycount higher than any of us expect
Can you give some sources/names? Obviously, there are snipers, and soldiers who killed a lot in a war. However, in general, it isn't like 1 vs 30 at a time.

I agree alot of historical figures are hard to objectively analize given either lack of quantifiable feats, or questionable accuracy pertaining to their feats, but I think going about it the way you did with more heavily weighing the feats and people that are more likely to be true and not overly embelished is the best route to go.

yi sun shin from korea was one of, if not, the greatest naval commander of all time. this dude single handedly saved korea from japanese invasion without ever losing a battle, hardly any battleships, and his own country tortured and demoted him wrongfully. despite that, his unwavering loyalty and brilliant military strategy against toyotomi hideyoshi’s samurai fleets is one to recognize and respect. one of the most underrated commanders in world history. but i get it, everyone wants to glorify the european and japanese warriors. plenty of great african, middle eastern, mesoamerican warriors too. just wanna give honor to those who dont get the recognition they deserve

How can you mention Alexander and not Bai Qi
Agreed but it definitely makes his accomplishments less impressive. He’s not top 3 but top 10 maybe top 5.
