So when MFN comes by and keeps preaching messages of selflessness and goodness for goodness' sake, people criticize it for being "unrealistic" because there's a widespread belief that the world/people are, by default, cruel. I mean look at the world: Political parties constantly fighting, narcisisstic leaders who think that they know best for millions, war, poverty, hunger the world around, with 24 hour news constantly in our face its easy to start thinking that way. Ricky and this game challenge that, the only way to get the true ending (And the only way to get them to stop attacking you now that I think about it) is to talk to every puppet, to help them through their struggles when it's far easier to just be miserable, give up, and pull the trigger to drag everyone else down with you. If we just succumb to the idea that life sucks and we have to do bad things to survive, we lose all hope and all chance of things ever getting better. No matter the circumstances, we all still have the choice of who we want to be when the chips are down, and we can all choose to be good because being good is worth it. That's Ricky's message, at least what I take it as. To quote genital jousting: "The world is hard. But that doesn't mean we have to be."
