ugh, yes! I remember the episode barely being about Courage too! It was mostly the two girls and Courage was just sorta there. That episode was REALLY heavy handed.

Something really creepy is me and my little brother were watching this a few months ago and when it got to the part about the “old wind” a gust of wind blew open the balcony door. We just looked at each other instantly and we couldn’t close it so we had to get our grandma to close it for us. Still freaks me out to this day. 💀💀

Glad to see courage still around these days. Ever since Thea White passed, the world was stricken with grief and felt heartbroken. I wanna say Muriel's tribute while also being a clue, is an actual tribute to Thea and i think the devs did a kindness.
Courage was one of the bravest characters I'd ever seen as a kid, and even now. His name suits him, for even in his fear of nearly everything around him...he loves his family more than he fears. He and scooby doo were my two favorite characters growing up. Both were easily frightened, but again, both would, when faced with the danger of their friends/family, stand up against the thing they feared. Truly, courage is not the absence of fear, but perhaps overcoming fear for something else, like say, love? As I grew up I was faced with many things I was afraid of. However, the thing that made me face my fears was the love of my friends and family. I love/loved them more than anything. There was no amount of fear that could stop me if I set my mind to doing something. Really brings back memories.
Now that I’ve started watching Courage again, I noticed something in the Weremole episode: after Courage brings the doctor to see Muriel after he woke up from the ambulance, he literally calls him her son. That just struck me as weird and more than a little curious. Did anyone else think there was something off about that?
And when I say he calls him her son, I mean he says, “ma’am, your son here was worried about you.” How and why would he confuse her dog for her son? There’s something really off about that.
Here's something I thought about: Eleanor and Robert sounded a lot like Muriel and Eustace. Muriel was just being nice and knew better about causing trouble, a parallel to Eleanor following the rules of the Old Wind. Eustace, meanwhile, was greedy and would only think of himself, not caring about the consequences; he usually died or earned some severe punishment. Robert was the same, using the Old Wind to find immortality, leading to his punishment of becoming a monster. Just a thought, but I wonder if it means anything.

Same, born in 2003, and I remember CN airing this non-stop around 9:30 to around 12:00 on weekdays. I remember being excited to watch it whenever class is out early or it was cancelled for the day, and immediately regretting it afterwards because I'll get nightmares similar to that of Courage's.
This might be one of the best horror RPGs ever even though it was never finished. I would love for it to be finished because I would love to find more of the story. Also the Robert Wheeler jump scare scared me so much I froze just like the player

Roberts face is literally nightmare fuel. It made me not even wanna go to my room because i would have to pass my backdoor, because it's made of glass, and I could see outside. And seeing that face irl, I would wanna unalive instantly.
Courage fulfilled a need within me as a kid. I crave horror and as a young kid, it was the right balance of unsettling, weird, creepy, meaningful, intense and just. Amazing. Incredible. Courage is just perfect horror.
Here's a theory: Mr wheeler and the Father are part of an association called the "Old Wind" which explains why there's a room with a symbol on the floor and chairs in a circle. I think The father left because he had an argument with Mr Wheeler or one of the other members of the association. Mr Wheeler came to finish the argument. Mr Wheeler being pictured as a creepy monster is actually a symbolic way of saying he was evil. Also just a random input, I think the argument had something to do with following the Ways of the Old Wind. Mr Wheeler had learnt the ways and became corrupted. Seeing how corrupt he became, the argument started when Father said he wanted to leave the association and spoke against it. Eleanor is another member who defended Father and was his close friend. Than Eleanor left, faked her death and changed her name.
Darker than you think. The cartoon was based off an actual couple that had a dog, there were in the middle of no where in New Mexico, they reported weird things including a skinwalker, and darker still the couple vanished and only the dog was found alive and well
I think the reason why the Wheeler creature is named "the real wheeler" is because that's how the story teller views him. A tall thing creepy old man. Which also explains the "Ways of the Old Wind", which shows that Wheeler grew old.
Courage as a nightmarish kids show reminds me of Gravity Falls, a kids show that isn't oversaturated with kid friendly junk, it really pushes the boundaries of what a "kids show" is. I like that.
Interesting tidbit from this show's translation: Green Fish in the bathtub: "There's no such thing as perfect. You are beautiful as you are, Courage. With all your imperfections you can do anything." Also the Green Fish in the bathtub but in Spanish and with an Argentine accent: ‘La perfección no existe. You are beautiful just as you are, Courage. I loved this show as a child so much it was crazy. I genuinely cried when I heard about Courage's backstories and his parents being shot up to the moon thinking about how sad it would be without my parents. I think the show made me a little more grateful after I finished that episode.
Fun fact: The cartoon is one of the two reasons why I suffer from severe arachnophobia and still, to this day, can't walk around in my house without some kind of light on :D

I’m going back and watching all of my favorite matpat videos in honor of his retirement, and this is one of the most I’ve cried ever because I miss him already. We all love you matpat, you shaped our childhoods and we will miss you ❤🥹
God Courage was such a big part of my childhood this warms my heart to such a degree ahhhh childhood nostalgia to the max. Went out of my way to buy the whole series on DVD as well to treasure it always so my kids can see it eventually
You are kinda right. Such as how you get the "Father wasn't home" when you go to the kitchen before the clocks strikes 12, Which could mean that father left while you where asleep and you only found out when you go to the kitchen before the clock strikes 12 and he isn't home. Which seems to be the first event in this story so far, as it's the first data missing screen you find. The next one "Mr. Wheeler was there to greet me" could mean that he just some neighbor who was there to greet the player when they went to the kitchen only to figure that there father isn't there, which is weird cause why would someone you don't know on a first name bases be there while your father left with out you knowing. That's about all I have kinda come up with on my own.

Honestly I don't remember this show being scary to my friends and I as kids. It encouraged us to be brave and face our fears when despite the overwhelming odds
I remember Courage the Cowardly Dog when I was a kid, and I loved watching it. It's interesting on how there was a movie with Courage and Scooby Doo. It was a movie that we didn't request, but it was needed. Same, born in 2003, and I remember CN airing this non-stop around 9:30 to around 12:00 on weekdays. I remember being excited to watch it whenever class is out early or it was cancelled for the day, and immediately regretting it afterwards because I'll get nightmares similar to that of Courage's.
That's fun but this also reached the 2010s , here it still after a gap of few months airs in India gotta say it's a masterpiece

Courage fulfilled a need within me as a kid. I crave horror and as a young kid, it was the right balance of unsettling, weird, creepy, meaningful, intense and just. Amazing. Incredible. Courage is just perfect horror.

Here's a theory: Mr wheeler and the Father are part of an association called the "Old Wind" which explains why there's a room with a symbol on the floor and chairs in a circle. I think The father left because he had an argument with Mr Wheeler or one of the other members of the association. Mr Wheeler came to finish the argument. Mr Wheeler being pictured as a creepy monster is actually a symbolic way of saying he was evil.
Also just a random input, I think the argument had something to do with following the Ways of the Old Wind. Mr Wheeler had learnt the ways and became corrupted. Seeing how corrupt he became, the argument started when Father said he wanted to leave the association and spoke against it. Eleanor is another member who defended Father and was his close friend. Than Eleanor left, faked her death and changed her name.

Darker than you think. The cartoon was based off an actual couple that had a dog, there were in the middle of no where in New Mexico, they reported weird things including a skinwalker, and darker still the couple vanished and only the dog was found alive and well

I think the reason why the Wheeler creature is named "the real wheeler" is because that's how the story teller views him. A tall thing creepy old man. Which also explains the "Ways of the Old Wind", which shows that Wheeler grew old.
Courage as a nightmarish kids show reminds me of Gravity Falls, a kids show that isn't oversaturated with kid friendly junk, it really pushes the boundaries of what a "kids show" is. I like that.
It really seems like the best cartoons push that boundary

I loved this show as a child so much it was crazy. I genuinely cried when I heard about Courage's backstories and his parents being shot up to the moon thinking about how sad it would be without my parents. I think the show made me a little more grateful after I finished that episode.

You are kinda right. Such as how you get the "Father wasn't home" when you go to the kitchen before the clocks strikes 12, Which could mean that father left while you where asleep and you only found out when you go to the kitchen before the clock strikes 12 and he isn't home. Which seems to be the first event in this story so far, as it's the first data missing screen you find. The next one "Mr. Wheeler was there to greet me" could mean that he just some neighbor who was there to greet the player when they went to the kitchen only to figure that there father isn't there, which is weird cause why would someone you don't know on a first name bases be there while your father left with out you knowing.
That's about all I have kinda come up with on my own.

I remember Courage the Cowardly Dog when I was a kid, and I loved watching it. It's interesting on how there was a movie with Courage and Scooby Doo. It was a movie that we didn't request, but it was needed.
