- The Ladies of Song (Celeste Scott, Margaret Aikens Jenkins, Robbie Preston Williams, and Gwendolyn Smith) was organized in 1961 in California and the group recorded a few albums. Robbie Preston is the mother of the late Billy & Rodena Preston, and she was also a songwriter and pianist. Margaret Aikens was a publisher, writer and singer, who wrote many Gospel standards such as “A Brighter Day Ahead,” “All Is Well,” and “Lord, Don’t Let Me Fail,” which were all recorded by the Gospel Queen, Mahalia Jackson.
The Ladies of Song sing "On The Battlefield," from their album titled EVERYBODY WILL BE HAPPY. Other details on this album are as follows:

This LP brought so much memories my late father imported this product from the USA to RSA . Thank you so much.....This is an underrated group very way a head of their time.
I agree that they're underrated. I have 2 of their albums and they honestly bring calm to chaos. I think they've become my 2nd favorite Gospel group of the 1960's.
@@Rowoches I had the full recordings on a casette lol sent by Margaret Jenkins herself to my sisters. My sisters treasure that so much. She has respect for the Barrett Sisters. She was the brain behind the group we will chat on Messenger
