We haven't noticed any weakening of the leg loop elastic. So far so good. Probably over time it might have some loss of elasticity but by then, probably will need a new harness anyway. Thanks for the question and be safe! ~Phil
Maybe you can answer this weird question I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm shopping for a harness, and I ended up on some site that compared the most popular harnesses (2018) and the Black Diamond Solution was the "least uncomfortable", which sounds fantastic to me. lol So long story short, shopping for the Solution led me to this Honnold edition. I do like Honnold, but I could care less if I have a "special edition" or not.. BUT... looking at both harnesses side by side, it looks like the Honnold edition has a shorter length of strapping from the top of the leg loops to the tie in loop / Belay loop. Can anyone confirm this? Heres a link to both pictures im looking at. (I'm a meager 5'6" so if one is shorter than the other, obviously I want the short one) Regular - www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en/climbing-harnesses/solution-men%27s-BD651082_cfg.html Honnold version - www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en/solution-harness-honnold-edition-BD651081_cfg.html If anyone knows for sure, I'd really appreciate it.
Hey Michael, As far as we can tell, both harnesses are basically identical with the exception of a few cosmetic differences. Both harnesses are certainly the "least uncomfortable" I have ever tried. They are great for long days at the gym! Like most harnesses, they come with adjustable elastic straps in the back of the harness that can help adjust how you sit in the harness while hanging from a rope. One great thing about these harnesses, however, is that unlike most harnesses that only have one or two sizes, the Black Diamond Solution Harnesses come in 5 different sizes ranging from XS to XL. Black Diamond has sizing guides on their website. If you pick the right size and properly adjust the elastic straps in the back of the harness I am positive that you will find one of the most comfortable harness models you've ever climbed with. ~Trevor
So I can't use it to go to the mountain? Or is it just to say something bad abput the harness?
Is the harness really autographed by Alex?
Does the leg loop expanad over time?
