When I was a JW l couldn't fathom marrying anyone. Lol. Mostly bc I was resolved to marry only in the lord. But also because I saw marriage as a trap. You get married, you're done, you can never leave, you have to honor the headship of your spouse. 🤢🤮 But also because, being a "spiritual brother" meant WT drained all of the personality out of everyone. You're supposed to look for a spiritual head but "leadership qualities" were never on display. And the brothers that tried to were so overbearing about it.

My husband has always been a kind and gentle person. He was raised by a very strict father and had some self esteem issues. By 1997 or so, they made him an elder. [Crazy because I was graduating from community college and going on to a university. I didn't have a word for it then but I had been PIMO for years.] I begged him not to be an elder. His best friend, who was also an elder, encouraged him with starting a business. By this time I left in 2002. The guy died about 12 years ago and my husband began to change. I couldn't put my finger on it and it seemed to be getting worse. He seemed to lack self confidence and couldn't or didn't want to make decisions. Within our business, I became the financial person. You information has really helped me understand what is going on with my husband. It is very stressful because he seems to 'put the org over me.'
This is so interesting you are talking about this. You are so correct. Women love confidence in men. Not a wussy obedient man. I was never attracted to MS or elders. 😂😂

You often mention that a business without a vision cannot succeed, and I agree with you, but I still don't know the steps to design a vision. But for the purpose of family I just went with the flow, once I got disfellowshipped at 29 I began to wake up even more. It took a couple years to realize and accept that it was a cult and sadly my whole family was in one. It’s been 8 years now with little to no communication with my direct family or extended large family of cousins and uncles (70+ppl). But I have remarried and have the best supportive wife and family now.

The reason they are stopping the door to door work is because everyone will google/research before joining and won't like what they find. So they are being told to befriend people first. They once told me god would speed up the gathering work at the end. It seems to be the opposite.
As a cult survivor I do not fing men with certainty sexy. World is huge and there is no certainty here. The reason people join cults is they want certainty. That makes them weak. The true strength is moving forward even though you dont have certainty
