Your intros are by far the best video quality I've seen on RUclips. I really think you should use them as RUclips shorts to bring more viewers to your channel because it deserves more.
I just want you to know that I enjoy your vidz and appreciate your service to our community. You have become one of my faves that I really look forward to seeing as well inspired me to get out and shoot more often. 👏👏👏
You said it! "American made" nylon/carriers are often times brutally overpriced. That can be said for a lot of things. Foreign made doesn't mean junk. Good video. I like LAPG stuff.
Great review. Thank you. I liked the party where you remove all the gear you keep n the various pouches and proceeded to take apart all the straps. Great insights with respect to relative comfort in low-viz mode sans shoulder pads.
Been browsing for plate carrier for some times now. You're right some company are putting stupid price for what you paid for. Quality wise some of that made from other countries are decent or better. Made in US and imported item should compete for us the consumers for the quality and price. Thanks for the review 👍.
I bought one of these after seeing your last video on them on the gundeals channel, and I'm very happy with them Because these are sold in one size and I am a smaller-sized dude, I had to do some cutting and stitching to get them to fit me properly but now it works very well I paired the carrier with a Triple Velcro Mag Pouch from Warrior Assault Systems and I'm quite happy.
This is a very slightly altered version of the Shellback Tactical "Stealth" Low Vis plate carrier. I have zero doubt that they come from the same factory. That means that LAPG sells the Shellback Low Vis, but they also figured out where Shellback is having them manufactured, went to them and sourced a version that they turned around and started selling for literally a third of the price. Talk about a slap in the face. The Atlas is merely an overseas-made clone of the old Shellback Tactical Banshee but with laser cut webbing instead of sewn molle.
liferafts and RHIB's are made from that same strap material. its very durable and tends to hold up to exposure much better than traditional nylon or poly...
@@FocusTripp I'm glad to see a more practical use for the material. I wonder if they could make an H strap chest rig, kinda like the Rhodesian 4 pouch rig. I think that would be ideal material for something like that... I've seen a boat hull sit out exposed to the Florida sun & salty air in the port for almost 3 years and it still held air. They need inspection and certification each year, but some still look new almost 10 years later if properly stored. A well stitched laser cut chest rig from the same material should last a lifetime for 99% of people...
Good stuff as always. I wonder if you could sew on some thinner pads/cushion to the bottom on the shoulder strap, once you figure out where they should be for you. Run some thinner, lighter plates, and remove drag handle. It might serve as low vis then. I highly recommend upholstery thread for any gear modification. It’ll actually hold up.
definitely could modify it to fit the low vis role a little better. My main point would be that it doesn't really do that all that well out of the box.
Have you ever used the guard dog plate carriers? I spent too much money and waited over 8 months for steel plates and a carrier from AR500 Armored Republic and I personally would not recommend it compared to other offerings of similar or better quality for the price.
If you are looking for a do most, get the Atlas. A middle of the road option that I have tested would be the Veritas PC from AR500, other options include Trex Arms AC1, Crye JPC, and the Ferro Slickster.
ZC is the only ultra Gucci optic that's worth the ridiculous price tag imo. My Razor and S&B are both mediocre tbh. The first time I looked through a ZC, it was like looking into the future. Not your current sht future, but a future where you're married to an honest woman, not the burnett slut that you catch fkn your neighbor in your bed, on your brand new merino down comforter you picked up at Macy's last week, on your way back from the Puyallup Sportsmen.. It's as if the glass is polished by the pubic hair of two nude Amazonians scissoring. They're unreal. The new LAPG low vis is legit. It's the only budget item I can think of that I'd have zero issues with owning. Given the price of carriers, I don't see why people don't purchase the top of the line though. Literal BIS is only $250. I'd still rock something Gucci over it, but solely because it's what the kewl kids are doing. Plates are a completely different discussion..
Love your candor dude. And I usually agree with you on gear I also have. But I have to respectfully disagree with you on the concealability of this carrier. I think for its purpose of being low viz, I wouldn’t put anything over level III shooter cut plates in this and no mags. With Hesco L210s and no mags, the setup is sub 12lbs. I can and sometimes do run an esstac x trex 5.56 shingle and it holds it well. I’ve even used a Haley Strategic pouch as well and it’s good to go. Shaving the 8 additional pounds makes carrying without the straps pretty tolerable for shoulders hardened by 30-50lb of kit. IMO this is a very good low viz option for most. And under a light jacket is undetectable.
Not a bad price at all… little flimsy but still good I see. Great video, brother! Question? Did you stop selling steel targets? The ones I picked up from you a while back are friggin awesome wanted to get a couple more.
Hey. There are Peltor comtac 3 clones I'm looking at. You've saved me. A lot of money on good gear. Any chance you'd be willing to look into the tac-sky . I know buy once cry once but I don't how basically Howard lights with a mic goes from 80 dollars to 700
@@FocusTripp interesting. Might make for a good carrier for someone without battle buddies. You can’t reach things on the back of a normal carrier, so being able to sling a backpack over sounds compelling.
Gotta love an old sea shanty

Thanks man! That's what I like to hear.
Lol that garand thumb reference. 👍 LARP squad. I use that tactic to get used to my gear. Amazing and informative video sir.
Awesome tune for Intro Bud!
Lol it sounded like dreadful noise to me, to each their own I guess

Good job customizing it. Defense Mechanisms has some nice ones that come in sizes.

Useful info as I contemplate buying a plate carrier
Glad it was helpful, let me know if you need helps, I had no idea what I was looking for at first.

I have only seen them, never really played around with one.
Sounds like a good bump in the night plate carrier
That's kinda what I use it for.
No, this flight is filled with people willing to work.
What an awesome intro
Really would like to know what song was played in that intro.

Thats the best fucking intro music I have ever heard!!!
I always like your videos. Where can I get those mag pouches?
unfortunately they aren't made anymore.
I have the atlas for my AR kit, might get this one for my AK kit
Good options to have.
Great video, I've been looking at this exact carrier. What would you recommend as an alternative to buying both?

Great video man! Have you tried wearing it totally slick and throwing a chest rig or lbe over it? I feel like that’s another pro of slick carriers
I haven't but that's a lot more weight and straps around you for no reason.

do you just leave the drag handle?

What's the name of the magazine placard? I can't understand the name of the company. Strict's Manufacturer? Streak Manufacturer?

This lapg pc reminds of the chase tactical SOCC plate carrier with a little more features but poorly executed.
It definitely has a few too many things that it trys to do.
Do you think it will hold up my ar500 lvl 3+ with build up coat ??since they are 9.25 lbs each
it will, but that's some heavy plates bro.
Yeah bro I know they’re heavy as f*ck but whatever a I’ll upgrade later
