That INT he made in the SB against the Vikings should always be a part of any NFL Films introduction.
Sitizen Kane when he’s looking right at the camera it just looks like a he’s in a movie. Amazing
@@TheSaltBoiCometh it was a movie 😢
It is. The footage is considered iconic from a football and cinematography perspective.
Right! That classic theme music should be along with it.
That INT returned for a TD in SB XI in slow motion is probably one of the greatest pieces of film in NFL history... Raider Nation forever, Old Man Willie.
Agreed.
Taylor L. That call gives me chills "OLD MAN WILLIE"
The best thing about the shot is at the end, for me anyway, I'm still not sure whether that shot was made in Hollywood or the NFL because the way he ran was less about athleticism and more about acting flow. So dramatic, so EPIC...it almost felt like he KNEW the camera was on him and it was his time to spotlight. Maybe the finest shot ever made in NFL Films; certainly in the top 10.
For real! I was about to comment 3:26 is the most epic thing ive ever seen! Im a Steelers fan but that made my damn eyes water.
It needed the Raiders Music for that clip. That would have made it complete.
Rest in peace Willie Brown! One of the best to do it.
I met willie brown a number of times and was always a warm and welcoming humble man. R.I.P the real #24! Once a Raide always a Raider
When he said he started wearing his sleeves. RESPECT!
Respeck*
I fucking hate Birdman lmfao
Legend's never die RIP Old Man Willie
Willie Brown vs. Lance Alworth in the mid-60's, what a match up of the greatest at their positions of the AFL.
Jack The Rip Off Alworth got the better of Brown in this matchup in a few cases. Two future HOF candidates going at each other in their prime.
RIP Willie Brown! "OLD MAN WILLIE HE'S GOING ALL THE WAY"
One of the all time best calls by a commentator
@@robertmeyer9808The immortal Bill King, one of the best ever!
Willie Brown is the godfather of clean football players. Especially on defense.
Clean? Listen pal, no one on those 70's Raider teams was clean. Just because his name isn't Jack Tatum or George Atkinson, doesn't mean he didn't also dump receivers on their head.
@@FalseOracle617if it’s not against the rules it’s clean fool
Old man willie, that is said with the utmost respect. Thank you for many memorable moments with Oakland. God bless .
Besides his greatness on the field Willie Brown is one of the classiest dudes ever.
R.I.P 🖤
Nice tribute by Mercury...
It was. And the story about the armbands is really cool.
That guy was an incredible player given he was a college LB and wasn't even drafted. He pretty much invented the bump and run defense of WRs and even though he didn't have great speed,he had the intangibles that are unmeasurable, heart and brains. Trully great player I remember from my youth in the 70s.
How much I miss the mud on the field!!!
rest in peace old man willie 🙏🏻
Guys while you hear showing respect, don't forget mother's Day in 2020 make sure you buy her a bunch of gifts rest in peace Mr. Brown
Rest in peace Willie Brown raider for ever
RIP legend
Rest In Peace Mr. Brown! We love you and thankyou! #RNFL We'll always remember our mother's on Mother's Day!!!
RIP WILLIE BROWNS 💪🏽
3:17 - That INT for a TD against the Vikings in the Super Bowl was like a movie. Gives me chills...
I loved Willie Brown. Such a big cornerback. Great skill. Professional. I never knew Mercury Morris wore his arm bands. Very cool, great respect.
"He's going all the way!!!....TOUCHDOWN RRRAAAIDERRS!!!"
Good Lord that gives me goosebumps. Nothing like being apart of Raider Nation.
im an Eagle die hard fan, but damn i respect the hell out of the raiders
I was so happy when you guys beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl I'm a die-hard Raider fan I used to like Ronald Cunningham me personally I think that was the best quarterback you guys had
@@m3vt2seffn thanks a lot pal..that was the third best day of my life! U know I hate the damn patriots also. And the damn steelers. Best of luck this season. I'm a little worried about the AB situation but hopefully it will work out. And about Cunningham I gotta agree with you he is right up there with the best Eagle quarterbacks I just wish he was better coached to be more of a pocket passer and only use his freakish athleticism when necessary.
Thanks for beating the pats in the Superbowl Respect
Long live Willie Brown! One of the greatest raider of all time
The INT In SB XI will live forever! Old man Willie!
RIP Old Man Willie
Old Man Willie!!!
Steve Kloepping He was the father of Bump-N-Run coverage.
One of the greatest... RIP Old Man Willie. Thank you for the memories!
I still get the chills when I see old man Willie intercepting in the Super Bowl against vs the Vikings and took it all the way back .. whoever reads this he will be in plaza park Visalia California July 16 2016 signing autographs are booster club Tulare kings raiders for life is throwing it . Hope to see you there .
Philly B fuck i missed it
Thank you old man WILLIE R.I.P
Way way way too low. He had the Int record for decades... The bump n run coverage was model after him. Look at that ravens defense prime example remember chris mccalister...
Antonio Montgomery I love Willie Brown, but Paul Krause of the Vikings, who played in the same era, has the INT record, which may never be broken. If Charles Woodson couldn’t get close, no one will.
Antonio Montgomery if what you were talking about was single season, Night Train
Lane has 14, in a 12-game season. Lester Hayes had 13 (in 16) - another Raider not in the HOF that ought to be.
Sorry Antonio Montgomery when I think of Willie brown I don't think of Chris maccalister nor when I think of the 60s and 70s raiders I don't think of the ravens I think Chris was a good player and the ravens had some excellent teams but Willie brown and the 70s raiders were rare rare air!!
RIP Willie.
Rest well sir
Big Play Willie Brown. Originally invited to a try out camp with the Houston Oilers in 1963. Houston did not sign him. He was a linebacker at Grambling. He later signed with the Denver Broncos as as a defensive corner. He revolutionized the game at the AFL level. Then later all of pro football. Forget about zone coverages. Willie was man to man. He then caught the eye of Mr. AL Davis. The rest they say is history. The next year WK Hicks Jr. was invited to camp as a try out from Texas Southern University. Can you imagine WK Hicks and Willie Brown in the same background?
I'm here now after Wilie brown passed away rest easy old man willie thanks for all the memories
i love that raider music! that is the NFL, thanks to the sabols!
The real number 24 rip willie brown
😥 he pass away
I love old oakland raider players
RIP willie brown
The interception return against the Vikings reminds me of the old NFL Films days. Good to learn how great he was.
“OLD MAN WILLIE!!!” One of my favorite calls in NFL history. RIP legend.
What a great, great player and a humble, classy guy.
Don’t ya just enjoy hearing the respect guys have for Greats of their times. “ Man , I got these from Willie Brown”! 😆😝😆
Gotta love Willie Brown 😎👍
Old man Willie! Touchdown Raiders! 🙏
Put some respeck on his name
RIP Willie Brown
TOUCHDOWN RRRRRAIDERS
Super bowl pick 6 has to be the greatest play in all sports. Late Great Willie Brown made that play iconic.
great video
9 picks on a 2 win team in a 14 game season. Legendary
RIP willie brown #24 RN4L
One of the best shut down corners ever in the history of the game. Today's receivers are so lucky there is no more bump and run coverage he and Mel Blount are the reason why they got rid of it in 1978
3:27 Gives me chills! So much emotion from 1 play
Old Man Willie.
RIP Willie
To be presented by Mercury Morris tells me you got to be good. That dolphins team went undefeated and won super Bowl
3:17 This play is all I remember of Willie Brown as a child. I was a Vikings fan.
Once a Raider always a Raider.
#24 W. Brown
One of the best of his era and a ballhawk but not sure how he'd have held up when the WR position got flooded with some truly outstanding athletes.
Rip you legend
willie brown would have gotten at least a 75 million dollar contract in today's game.
Then later all of pro football. Willie was man to man coverage.
R.I.P
The inventor of the bump and run
Rip Willie
Honestly him talking about bump and run coverage has made me think the NFL has gone in a half circle. we started way back in the day the cornerback could do anything and defense was much more in your face. Then they made the Mel Blount rule and it’s just gone downhill from there. Now the NFL just wants big plays on offense
It’s sad. Defense isn’t popular these days
2:29 -- what a cool story by mercury morris
Rip
RIP
RIP Mercury Morris
One of the greatest ever.
Mercury Morris showing mad respect for Brown..
Willie Brown the best CB I ever seen
Best combo I ever seen was Hayes and Hanes also Raiders
At 6'2 220 he was one of the fathers of the King Sized DBs in the modern era.
Mercury Morris is so cool.
May God bless Mr.Willie Brown and his wife Yvonne who is a very Big Hearted Woman whom I've been blessed to know personally for 3 years now. You're both in my prayers!!!
old man Willie was a great Raider. Just win, baby.
With all the cameras and tech they have today, for whatever reason they don't get shots like the perfectly lined up one of brown running back that interception in the Superbowl against minnesota. Made even more incredible by bill kings magnificent as usual call.
Willie Brown innovator.
R I P
i would love to watch these afl games on a sunday than the football that is being played today.
I think you mean MORE than.
🏈🏈🏈👏
Rip Willie Brown
Today's football dancing and celebration in those days would've put you on the DL the next play.
Also rest in peace to mercury morris. He recently passed
Old man Willie!!! One of the best CB who ever played the game. Only Mel Blount and Night Train Lane were better in my opinion. Two HUGE corners who could not only cover but were great tacklers
Old Man Willie!
Old Man Willie!! RIP. Tough loss
Rip the Willie Brown
-chargers fan
Willie Brown, RIP .......
Does anybody know the song at the beginning cause that isn’t the original autumn wind song
Trying to use it for a video:)
I ve also been searching that song for a 3 years now, and i still cant find it, i tried shazam i tried sound hound i ve looked for it on all americas game films searched for inventor of sound, its like the song cant be found anywhere on internet
Mercury got some of Willie's mojo by wearing those black arm bands!
He may not be the most typical Raider, he may well have been the greatest Raider.
R.I.P.
The only person who made the conversion from OUTSIDE LINEBACKER TO CORNERBACK!!!!!!
Dwight Love I thought Lester Hayes did as well. he went from linebacker to Strong safety to cornerback if I recall correctly.
Frank Noel Brown did this in the '60s
Nicholas Williams He was original BIG DB 6-2 220 before Mel Blount!!!!
Nicholas Williams He should be much higher on this list at least top 20 or higher
@@Fnoel98356 Never knew that thanks for the 411
Rip old man willie
The Most Determined Eyes in the History of the NFL.
