  • Continuum robot, aka snake robot, aka elephant's trunk robot with 3DOF. It uses three servo motors to pull three strings. In this design I used compression spring in the centre of the trunk to provide rigidity. This robot looks really strange, almost disgusting :).

    If some of my subscribers wants to build the same robot, I can put the STL files and code to the open source. Please write a comment to this video.

    IMHO, doing this with differential hydraulics at each joint would be VERY interesting.

      Agree. But also it will be way too expensive. Way beyond my budget.

    HI Skyentific, In your video you are showing the equations you use for the manipulation of your robot. I'm struggling to find out what A and B is in this context. Are you willing to share the code? You would help me a lot!

    • @Skyentific
      @Skyentific  5 лет назад

      Hi! Yes, I can share a code. If I remember right, A and B are basically constants which defines the amplitude of bending. I found the Arduino code, which I used in this video. I can send it to you, if you'll give me your email. You can send me a message at my facebook page: facebook.com/SkyentificFace/

      Hi. I would definitely advice Prusa. I have Tevo Little Monster, Prusa i3 MK3, and Minifabricator II. Tevo Little Monster is really bad. Minifabricator II is good, and cheap, but it has very small build volume (10cm x 10cm x 10cm). And Prusa is great. Also there are a lot of people using it, so you can easily find support on web.

    Hi
    We also working on the snake arm robot project for CLG .
    At beginning we control by manually but now we change the plan and now we control with motor, adurion but problem is we are form mechanical field.
    Plz share code for control the robot.
    And give some tips as well...

      Hello. Do you mean for this particular project? Here I used Arduino Mega as main board, MP3 Trigger from SparkFun for the music. Motors are: TrackStar TS-D99X servo motors from HobbyKing. If you would need a code for this robot I can send it to you.

I also would like to know how to assemble the STL files, Arduino code, parts like bolts and nuts to assemble them, and instructions. Is there an open source I can get? I can also send you my Email and message on Facebook. Also how does the kinematics and inverse kinematics and mathematical modeling work?
