Yeah I agree. The only reason I think dcs world is better is because it's free. It may not look as good as msfs but you can get mods to make dcs world more beautiful and stuff for free. Msfs, if you want addon, you have to pay 10, 15, 20 bucks for it. For both simulators, in the end, you have very realistic looking simulators, but one costs you so much money, and the other is free. Also, one thing that you can't really do in msfs (at least I've never seen it) is dogfighting, whether is a 1 circle, 2 circle or bvr. Like DCS World you have to think about like jamming the wez, preflaring, pulling the notch, defending against incoming missiles and I've never really seen that done in msfs. Just a thought. But also you can't really co.pare these two sims, one is more for combat simulation, hence the name digital combat simulator, the other is more for commercial fights
FS definitely wins for realism but when put side by side with the less detailed DCS I just prefer DCS. DCS colours while unrealistic are beautifully saturated while all the drab colours in FS is probably more accurate to how those places actually look. Plus realism aside FS doesn't have fighter jets like FSX yet & even if they were added they probably won't have ordnance. So I'll take the fake world as long as I get to fire AMRAAMs at bandits & bogies.

@@ian_lewono I prefer DCS because I can shoot stuff, but to say it is free is a bit of an overstatement. In MFS, pay 115 bucks and you get 35 aircraft and the entire world to fly around, with most of the aircraft being high fidelity (if you aren’t satisfied, you can also download more free planes or higher fidelity versions of the vanilla ones, FBW A320 is my fav) In DCS, with 115 bucks, you can get 1 high fidelity aircraft with some campaigns or FC3 with a map and some other low fidelity aircraft. Sure the maps are much more interactive and detailed than MFS, but to call it a F2P game when it only comes with 2 aircraft and 1 map (Marianas is free if you download it) is kind of misleading
Sorry but at the end of the day it gives me a better game feeling to destroy a B52 with a MiG-21 or do Dogfight with a MiG-15 vs F86F Sabre or go into WW2. That all is better than to only fly passengers in a game trough a world or only flying without a mission trough a peaceful landscape.
My personal preference would be MFS because you have a larger selection of aircraft to choose from. Especially vintage prop planes like the P51 Mustang and such. I'm just in the mood to fly some drones around and see what they look like.
I play dcs but always think the textures of the buildings look game looking where as on these videos MFS looks more realistic. Never know whether to buy MFS or not.

It would be interesting if Microsoft gets aware of the possibility of destroying DCS is not that far away if they wanted to. Been wanting a Microsoft Combat simulator for YEARS haha
Dont think so. The Avionic and weapon systems are to realistic/authentic in DCS and thats what DCS is about. The core community dont care about the graphics (at least it is not a top priority) but if a specific switch doesnt work how it is described in the navy/airforce or whatever handbook they will form a raging mob with torches ^^ DCS has proper Radar, avionics, fully clickable modules, ground units, damage models, weopon systems, carriers and a good editor which gives the community the ability to build their own scenarios. @@PaulFrank52ndNY Well said. ED has been at it for years and have quite the collection of extremely high fidelity aircraft. Its a passion project. And not one that can simply be bested by throwing heaps of cash at it.
