      I have done it at least twice, but I think three times, because after a while of having been using debit card to pay in stores instead of withdrawing cash to pay, you completely forget if it is yes to conversion or no to conversion that is more beneficial to you, and that is why I have clicked yes to conversion two or three times

Also here in USA we now have chime and Sophi which are not banks but financial technology companies. We can do free feposits at 7 11 stores. Chime ATMs are free withdrawls. Can you do a video detailing these things?

    Happened to me in Malaysia in 2018 at a Maybank machine, slightly different wording. I want to say it said something like do you want to be charged in dollars or local currency. Always choose local currency. Also, happened at a hotel in Chiang Mai, but that one I got to argue with them because it said I approved it, and I said I haven't signed it yet, I haven't approved it. Took 10 minutes for them to charge it in THB. Yeah, annoying as [bleep].

  • @donl5941
    @donl5941 4 месяца назад +3

    Yes for the rest of you viewers here, as people are saying, always use your own bank's ATM here if you have a Thai ATM card. Separately, I've found that with my US credit card I do not let the establishment (such as Global) convert as my credit card bank has a far better conversion rate. The other lesson here is of course, don't be complacent. Thanks for the update Rob.

    Rob...getting Rob-bed...Holy Lulz ! 😆
    Jokes apart, Thanks for the info, Rob. I wonder if it is safe to use ATM in Thailand or there are better options. In example, here in Italy i would never use a random ATM, even if they are pretty safe, because it could happen they rob you using some hidden chips that read your card before the bank's ATM sensors, and on the keypad aswell for the password. That's why i always use the ATM inside the bank. Isn't better that way in Thailand too ?

    In 2019 a ATM machine ate my debit card and there was no bank behind it to get help in Kamala Beach. Never again. Always make sure an ATM has a bank behind it during their banking hours so you can go in and get help. Also cash money if the bill has any ink or any small tear, they will not exchange it at exchange money locations. Bring new $100.00 bills if you can. But I have never seen that exchange button that you are talking about. Thank you for your information on that,,,,,,,,,,,,,
