My cameras, passport, and wallet stay locked up in a Pelican case which stays chained to the pipe under the sink in the bathroom.
If you think living on 1K a month is hard in Thailand try it in the US.

My advice regarding anti-pickpocketting methods is to do as I do when going out. I use a very slim chest/waist bag and wear it under my trousers or shorts. I keep larger amounts of money there, together with my passport. The only money in my pocket is a few hundred baht.
Regret number 4: Not getting intimate with Fon 😟
Zero interest in the ladies. Just want to find a good place to live, affordable.
Since you have zero interest in ladies then I would recommend Afghanistan it's much cheaper than Thailand 😂😂

Heya Rob. I remember when you got pickpocketed, I couldn't believe it happened to you, I guess getting complacent or letting your guard down after so many years would be a thing to watch out for. When I first started coming in 2018, I forget what vlogger suggested the front chest bag either you Sunny Kev or CC, it was great advice, I also carry 2 wallets, 1 in the safety box in the room with all my normal stuff and some American currency and 1 I carry in the chest bag. I never pull-out large sums unless it's for motorbike rentals and it goes straight to the rental company. I also remember you saying about the Charles Schwab debit card, as soon as I sell that property to move there, I am getting one to save on all the ATM fees, I think of that every time I see your videos! Great to see more videos coming out! keep them coming!

Watched a few of your videos and subscribed...I like your vibe. I plan on retiring there in 3 years. I really do need to get out there again (haven't been there since the 80's), and decide where I really want to live. I'm torn between really wanting to be by the ocean, but it's expensive, and living in northern thailand (chiang mai area) and dealing with the burn season. One of the videos I watched of yours dealt with actually having two properties...I really like that idea, just not sure if I am going to have the funds. I'll have about a 200k USD 401k, and social security of about 2100usd. I look forward to watching more of your videos, keep up the great work!

I've been subbed to this channel for several years but I wonder if the 2nd regret "girl" mentioned was the pretty one that popped up quite often like up until 2-3 years ago. I checked Rob’s other video. Different chicks, both from Thailand. The latest one, Jessica #2 is singing in a rap video.
If you look closely at Rob’s video of Jessica #1 you can tell she’s grimacing or frowning around him but only in the segues between shots. I hate it when the girls do that! When you see that face you know it’s finished before it can even begin.
Still recall asking a voluptuous one for a little party with standard $40 and she asked for $60. It was like “Why do you hate me?” 😢. The charge was for all I’m afraid.

"Fanny" bag (with 2 or 3 separate zippered compartments) worn in front is my preference - shoulder bag is OK, but easier for a mugger to muscle off of / away from you.
And, needless to say, nothing of any value in regular clothes pockets.
My Bum bag / Fanny bag, I attached a Shoulder strap, it never stops having contact with me..
Uncomfortable at waist sitting, I slip the waist belt and let the shoulder strap do the work..
I traveled India with it, and also a Muggers Wallet.. Old cards ( supermarket) some money, some padding..
Didn't have Problem BUT. ......

I've been in Thailand 32 years. Oddly only 1 regret. I wished I had made the effort to learn to read and write Thai. I speak Thai well, but reading and writing at least at an elementary level would have been a better enhancement in many ways.

When I was there I used a money belt that strapped around the waste and was tucked into my underwear. I also carried traveler’s checks. No problems with theft.

I was in pattaya in December. I could easily spend $100 a night shooting pool and drinking with the bar girls. It's what i like to do. And then another $30 if i take a girl back to my hotel.
So add food and public transportation and I'm looking at $4,500 a month to live my lifestyle in pattaya. Granted, if i partied like that every night, i would be dead in a couple of years. I will be 65 in April. So if i partied like that every other night i could get by on about $3,000 a month. Plus rent.
So i would need to go live in Udan i guess to make it on my ss. 😂
