Custom Painted Trek Slash Slopeduro - Bike-Build

- New bike day -- This time Drew and I are building up a custom painted Trek Slash. She's a looker... We're in Drew's shop this time, "Barber Bike Shop." Drew has some killer tools and he actually knows how to use them properly. No jerry-rigged PVC-pipe headset race installers here. Nope.. nothing but the finest. We finish the build, and then I have to hop on a plane to Austria for Crankworx. Without this bike!! Brutal. Can't wait to get home and ride this thing. I've filmed some travel stuff while over here so look for that to be posted soon. Also, next week is finally time for the Utah footy on the Session. See y'all then, thanks for watching.

Yoo, such a sick one!! 💯💯💯
Your one is also very sick 🔥🔥
this is one of the coolest frames i have ever seen
Nice u tube channel
@@outdoorowen thx
Definitely
Just going by the thumbnail that bike looks so sooo sick Cam!
I love watching all your vids. Inspiring me to get out there and ride
Remedy’s and slashes are so sick dude!!! so freeride.
Came here to watch the bike build.... and I noted the album art looked like an album that I know......YEP. My favorite band. Cam McCaul has great taste in music!
Still waiting on the Drew Barber backflip video! Sick frame and build, I love my Slash!
Loving the sound activated led lighting to Cams voice 🤣
I didn’t notice that
Your bike usage philosophy is right on point! I used to always drop my new BMX bikes first ride to detach emotionally haha
that frame is unreal man ! enjoy !!
Cant wait to see you shred the slash!
Hey cam, that bike looks sick
You’ll always see something cool on this channel
Love that paint job. Trek should offer that standard, but each one different...
I always find myself laughing at ur videos😂 always excited to see them🤝
Glad to see something from australia pm a bike
first thing I thought when I first saw the frame was "hey that looks like the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets album cover"
Great video
Why put Kovees on an enduro bike tho?! Other than that sick speck and build, can’t wait to see it shred 🤙
I thought the exact same thing but both kovee and line wheels are great quality and super strong.
I was wondering the same thing too.
Hope to see you up on bachelor this summer
You should come to Eugene to check out some new trails we got going on. New jump line at Carpenter Bypass and some new techy DH trails at Thurston.
Yeah boiiiii I love my Alloy slash !
Finally a good looking slash
That thing is SICK!! 👍🏼👍🏼 Black fork would have fit the scheme a bit better tho. 👌🏼
Killer bike! And also, it's very ironic that the SE6&SE5 are spitting images of Maxxis Assegai &DHR! 🤣😂😂
That tool is the Park Tool TNS-4 (threadless nut setter).
I hope you make a video of you riding in Bellingham
She needs a black fork. But it’s so sick
I'm just gonna assume you went back (off camera) and added some PNW sealant to that headset... (grease) lol
Yeeee buddy!
Let’s look at the tread.
Looks like a Minion
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Sick
I just got the Bontrager Kovee Pro 30 and the rim cracked first dh run in. Thankfully it comes with 2 year warranty but it sucked I couldn’t race
Sick bike dude. I have the trek fuel ex 8 in red like you and I was wondering if the bike creaks at all when you stand up and pedal because mine is just god awful, I’ve taken it apart and re greased the bearings plus I fitted a ceramic BB and it still creaks. It’s really annoying
Daaamn
Nice build..... why do you used XC carbon rims, you havent had problems with the Kovee wheels??
And the droperpost in the Frame and the bb if its carbon use Carbon grease
Hey Cam I got a question: would you recommend a trek slash as a first full suspension bike? Also I’m 5’10” and like a nimble ride so is it worth getting a M/L size? I love your vids btw. Now the hard part... finding one!
I’m not cam but quite experienced. 5’10” I recommend getting a medium. If you want something twitchy and can move quick. Longer wheelbase to will help keep things straight. Large if you smash trails and not much tech.
hey kade, im also 5,10 coming off a large bike and I've got a M/L slash on order that I'm very excited about haven't gotten it yet but with the reach being 470 it should be about perfect for me. hope this helps somewhat!
very relaxing build not enough commentary... there were a few seconds in the video where you didn't talk...
Where did you order your rear shock from?
How you gonna lay all those brand new parts and custom paint job on the asphalt like that
No grease in headset
Sick bike! Do you find 180mm rotors enough up front? I got 2-piston XTR brakes on 180 on my bike and definitely wish I had a bit more when it gets steep for extended periods.
2 piston vs 4 piston which is what he’s running makes a huge difference when it comes to power. They are also much less likely to experience brake fade(longer descent=more heat=less power) which is what is possibly happening with your XTRs. If you want to increase the power of your current brakes w/o replacing them swap your pads for some metal ones and maybe get some bigger rotors. source:bike mechanic
@@FomeDH Metal pads already made a huge difference. Difficult finding a center lock 203 right now, so might have to try an adapter. What makes a bigger difference in your opinion…4 piston vs 2, or 203 rotors vs 180
How much did this bike set you back? Is it better to build or buy trrk slash?
No grease on the bearings?
Please grease the Headset cups
Called hydro dipping
what frame size and what your size?
Oh yeah….
Trek slash is 170mm travel factory bud.
How does this qualify as a slope duro? Dropper, gears? Isn't is just a trail bike.
hell yeah lube toob!!
Oh my gaaawd🤤
Grease
This title looks Sik
A Slash is 160/170mm
Please say that frame is plastic wrapped
Heads up to your editor, the stereo balance is screwed up in several parts of the video. Very unsettling to listen to with headphones. Sick bike though.
He edits himself 😂
Shit yeah picked it was psychedelic porn crumpets as soon as you said it! Aussie represent
Forgetting your name is probably more likely 😄🤣
Slash have 160/170 mm of travel ...
Btw the bike is so f*****g cool man , big up !
What! Watching this video in the restroom. The only place i can go to look at bike porn.
I loved my 21 slash until the frame cracked….
how did the frame crack was it carbon or aluminium?
@@cleme5215 aluminum. Almost all of the 21 aluminum models are cracking of you actually ride the bike. Just above the bottom bracket on the down tube. They ground a weld too far down on the outside and bottom and it’s cracking in the weld. Trek is definitely taking care of the issue and replacing frames as necessary. They even upgraded my shock to the thru shaft version.
why tf u lay it on the concrete 😮💨
Well ain't that magnificent!
I would still like it to be 150r/160f and a bit cheaper though...
Have you heard of the remedy?
@@reubenjohnson4141 It's no remedy to my woes though due to the small wheels.
Find a previous generation Slash... I have one and it's a good all around bike..
@@brianpeterson6872 My wife has one and it's a great bike for sure.
do you have a bike you dont need lol even like a trash bike that you dont like and you dont want anymore like i need a better bike lol im using a walmart bike thats falling apart
