Good video. I am an electrician and found your video very informative. About the "smelling information" is a good idea because many people don't realize that "smelling" is an information that something is going wrong.

I have an old house the ground wire was connected to galvanized pipe, and I had plumber upgrade to copper with isolated water pressure unit. so I decided to rewire my garage, so I ran three wire from house panel to garage panel the proper way, and ran a ground post outside the garage wall. you mentioned two in vedio two six feet apart gronding posts, do I have to add a scond post or one is good enough. I love your vedios I will install some security camers outside, your showed how iit's done is a grea help. Thank you. Maruk

Hi Maruk.. sounds like you are really getting some projects done! Are you running a new service cable between the main panel and a sub panel in the garage? Just wanted to make sure I’m giving you the best info.

@@completepete Yes Pete, I have done that a while back, Not having a convenient place around the house to drive a groundind rod I decided at that time to drive the rod just as close as I can to the wall outside the garagefrom the subpanel, my garage is all by itself detached from the house, I am more digital electronic orianted, I am retired now so the question do I need to add a second rod six feet away from the first one. My main Panel is 100amps and the sud is 50amps. I really appreciate you you help and knowlede, Maruk

Maruk, typically the ground rod is tied into the main panel. The idea being that in the event of a surge or lightning strike, the excess energy will drain to ground through your water pipe connection and ground rod quickly and directly. While I’d prefer to see the rod tied in at your main panel, at least you have a rod in the system. I normally use two rods spaced 6’ apart if there is no good water pipe ground or if the soil conditions are poor. With your water pipe connection and single rod you should be ok.

I have a 2012 new built home, Town electric inspector passed home with a Murray Box with some Square D breakers, will this be any problem? Thank you.

John, thanks for watching and reaching out. While Square D breakers “fit” into the Murray load-center, they are not listed for use in this load-center. In some cases, on older panels they will list some breakers that are interchangeable on a decal
inside the cover. This would most likely not be the case with your panel since it’s fairly new. The simplest solution would be to purchase replacement breaker (I believe Home Depot has them).
I would not run screaming out of the home, BUT it might be something you want to repair for your piece of mind.

@@completepete Thank you, I am pissed that Electrical inspector for County would pass this?

I Would agree that an Electrical Inspector would have most likely picked up on this. A Town Building Inspector might not. Hopefully you can get it worked out.
