5:46 most (if not all) kpop groups are put together by an entertainment company. First, people audition there and become trainees. They train for ~1-8 years and the company puts some trainees together to form a group. There are some circumstances when the members are picked out by another trainee (like stray kids) but that’s really rare. Btw, being a trainee is really hard. They need to pass monthly evaluation where they show the progress of their singing/rapping and dancing skills. And if the company thinks you didn’t make progress you get kicked out.

The kpop industry runs like an education system. To be a trainee… some get scouted, some applied, some auditioned. Trainees within a company train their whole lives without knowing whether they’ll debut or not. There is also like a grading/scoring system and monthly evaluations… if u don’t meet the higher ups’ expectations, higher the chance of not debuting or getting kicked out. It’s quite harsh especially to most companies in the industry. This is why ppl get the impression of the industry being “manufactured”. In the case of blackpink, they do face this system.

If you guys want to see how the kpop trainee system works, it is shown and explained very well in the docu-series Rise of Bangtan. Hope to see you guys react to it. The docu-series focuses on BTS's journey in chronological order, but it goes very in-depth about how the kpop industry works as a whole and also includes interviews clips from the Blackpink girls here and there (and other kpop artists). The 1st chapter already gets into the kpop industry a lot, like how it was started and how it developed, how the trainee system works. This is a fan-made docu-series, but extremely professionally edited with a whole team behind the production. It looks like it could be a Netflix show (it SHOULD be on Netflix, it's that well-made). Each chapter has a corresponding Deleted Scenes vid, and from chapter 3 onwards, there is an additional Bonus Content video for every chapter too - those show a lot of funny and entertaining BTS moments, with context and edited well. I suggest watching the deleted scenes and bonus content vids right after you finish a chapter. Each chapter revolves around the time period of a song or an album. The trainees are usually very young, they still have to go to school and balance school with intensive training. And the trainees all live together, away from family. The youngest BTS member Jungkook was still in middle school when he joined as a trainee, and their oldest member Jin would drive him to school and buy his food. Aside from all the members getting vocal and dancing training/practice, RM and Suga also spent a lot of their trainee years honing their skills in songwriting, composing and producing (they already were doing that as underground rappers prior to BTS). BTS's company gave them more artistic freedom than a lot of other companies give their artists, their CEO wanted BTS to be able to make their own songs. The rappers shouldered the bulk of the songmaking responsibilities. RM just got his 200th song credit, he has a feature on a new song with other rappers, it's called Sexy Nukim by Balming Tiger ft. RM. Just came out a few days ago. Just fyi, Balming Tiger is a collective group of rappers, musicians, directors, writers, producers, etc. They have more of an experimental hiphop sound and they usually don't let outsiders feature in their songs since they feel not a lot of artists can understand their style. They're not mainstream. But they made an exception for RM cause they were impressed at how well RM could understand their style of music and could fit in with the vibe of their song in his own way. 5:46 most (if not all) kpop groups are put together by an entertainment company. First, people audition there and become trainees. They train for ~1-8 years and the company puts some trainees together to form a group. There are some circumstances when the members are picked out by another trainee (like stray kids) but that’s really rare. Btw, being a trainee is really hard. They need to pass monthly evaluation where they show the progress of their singing/rapping and dancing skills. And if the company thinks you didn’t make progress you get kicked out.

Not true at all. Very few people hated the song. As demonstrated by the amount of views it’s still getting and the fact it’s first in the 100 chart for the second week in a row. I personally loved it when it came out but after hearing it a couple of times I was like "Ok maybe it's not that good". But in BP we agreed they all have VISUAL. The 3rd member revealed by the company after 5 years of training ( same as Lisa ) appeared in several ads in her pre-debut years. English not so much but she can understand pretty well, Jennie who is her BFF taught her some english ). The kpop industry runs like an education system. To be a trainee… some get scouted, some applied, some auditioned. Trainees within a company train their whole lives without knowing whether they’ll debut or not. There is also like a grading/scoring system and monthly evaluations… if u don’t meet the higher ups’ expectations, higher the chance of not debuting or getting kicked out. It’s quite harsh especially to most companies in the industry. This is why ppl get the impression of the industry being “manufactured”. In the case of blackpink, they do face this system.

If you guys want to see how the kpop trainee system works, it is shown and explained very well in the docu-series Rise of Bangtan. Hope to see you guys react to it. The docu-series focuses on BTS's journey in chronological order, but it goes very in-depth about how the kpop industry works as a whole and also includes interviews clips from the Blackpink girls here and there (and other kpop artists). The 1st chapter already gets into the kpop industry a lot, like how it was started and how it developed, how the trainee system works. This is a fan-made docu-series, but extremely professionally edited with a whole team behind the production. It looks like it could be a Netflix show (it SHOULD be on Netflix, it's that well-made).
Each chapter has a corresponding Deleted Scenes vid, and from chapter 3 onwards, there is an additional Bonus Content video for every chapter too - those show a lot of funny and entertaining BTS moments, with context and edited well. I suggest watching the deleted scenes and bonus content vids right after you finish a chapter.
Each chapter revolves around the time period of a song or an album. And it's in chronological order, so the 1st chapter revolves around the time when BTS were still trainees up to when they dropped their 1st music video (No More Dream). If you don't want to have any spoilers for the music, I suggest reacting to No More Dream before watching the 1st chapter of Rise of Bangtan. If you don't mind spoilers, then no need. You will see from the docu-series that trainees are worked insanely hard and it's cut throat. The trainees are usually very young, they still have to go to school and balance school with intensive training. And the trainees all live together, away from family. The youngest BTS member Jungkook was still in middle school when he joined as a trainee, and their oldest member Jin would drive him to school and buy his food. Aside from all the members getting vocal and dancing training/practice, RM and Suga also spent a lot of their trainee years honing their skills in songwriting, composing and producing (they already were doing that as underground rappers prior to BTS). BTS's company gave them more artistic freedom than a lot of other companies give their artists, their CEO wanted BTS to be able to make their own songs. The rappers shouldered the bulk of the songmaking responsibilities.
RM just got his 200th song credit, he has a feature on a new song with other rappers, it's called Sexy Nukim by Balming Tiger ft. RM. Just came out a few days ago. Just fyi, Balming Tiger is a collective group of rappers, musicians, directors, writers, producers, etc. They have more of an experimental hiphop sound and they usually don't let outsiders feature in their songs since they feel not a lot of artists can understand their style. They're not mainstream. But they made an exception for RM cause they were impressed at how well RM could understand their style of music and could fit in with the vibe of their song in his own way. RM is in the music vid.
