My husband is an Electro-Mechanical and Design Engineer with Boeing. He just had his 46 year anniversary. He and his father both worked for Rockwell. Boeing bought Rockwell in 1996. My husband did not work on this particular plane however, he does work in Strategic Defense. He makes me very proud.
Sad to see conformal fuel tanks didn't make the cut. Could've sworn I read online somewhere there was a want for more range for fighters operating on carriers. Very nice plane regardless.
I wish Indian Air Force and Indian Navy select this aircraft. Almost 150 aircraft in total. It would have the same engine as our single engined Tejas 2. Joint operations in the Indo-Pacific with Australia and US would be well integrated. It has the lowest life cycle cost for a twin engined combat aircraft. Make sure India selects the Boeing!
America would gladly be India's sole weapons dealer if your government did not buy from Russia!! their junk won't protect you from Pakistan or China. America makes the best weapons of all kinds👍🏻
@@sergeant_salty India is aware of the good value and quality of weapons from the U.S. That said it takes decades to make a shift in a large armory. Another roadblock is the U.S. government’s tendency to use sanctions as a political tool and many Indians remember the sanctions imposed in 1999.
Airforce has Rafale. No need for a jet with similar class. But I would prefer the super hornet for our Navy though. Indo-Pacific is mostly dealt by the Navy.
I can’t wait till their covered all over our 13 carriers! The 77 completely new ones and all 650 some upgraded super hornets and growlers. With the F35, we are the best and most lethal Navy ever. Fly Navy! My father served and worked on the legacy and F14’s. They both have a special place in my heart. The new Block 111, it’s a 4th+ gen fighter and it isn’t stealth but equipped with low observable skin and the latest sensors and radar, more powerful engines! What a gorgeous platform!
No, that’s actually how the wheels retract. They are heavier and stronger for carrier landing, which means the gear load to retract the gear is heavier. It’s normal.
This one (block 3 super Hornet) has an external fuel tank inside of it which makes for longer range and not having to carry a large fuel tank on the belly, as well as a new cockpit system which has a larger HUD(heads up display) making it easier for the pilot to select weapons faster and it’s also touch screen. Does that answer your question or did you mean what was the difference between the regular F-18 hornet and the super Hornet ?
@@adrianlopez8919 Now that you mention it, there seems to be a small bulge from where the wings connect to the main body. Guess that's where the extra fuel tanks are located.
@@adrianlopez8919 Thanks mate, appreciate it. But shouldn't the usual why has the naval version been equipped with more fuel, because they are usually very light weighted than the usual or the Air Force planes.
By 2060 the PROC will have an enormously powerful navy with 10 or more large carrier battle groups loaded with Shenyang J-31 Gryfalcons, stealthy drones and 6th generation fighters. The Super Hornet will be very obsolete by 2040. It's time for boeing to start innovating istead of producing the same antiquated designs.
A shame they did not use these in the new Tom Cruise movie....😉 Hoped the built in IRST would make it into the aircraft but glad the conformal fuel tanks didn't.
@Nika (UNVACCINATED) 1776 see, the Tejas platform was built mainly for 2 reasons. 1. To minimise India’s dependence on foreign products. 2. Have a suitable platform that will easily retire the aging MiG-21’s and Mirage 2000’s in the future. India purchasing the EX is very unlikely, because it is based off an air superiority role, which the Su-30MKI pretty much is. Plus, the Super Sukhoi variant is coming soon. Additionally, more Rafales will come soon.
what boeing needs to make is an remote control Super Hornet or F-18 and build a control cube from which US operators can control the aircraft with all function and engagement but with no risk of getting hurt or facing death. kinda like a UAV but 200x better and a real experienced pilot in the control cube to carry out the mission. Also the control cube should reflect what the real aircraft its self is doing for a more real experience so the operator can feel what is happening like if the aircraft going upside down you feel like you are also going upside down. the only problems is what if someone hijacks ur uplink to the aircraft

But IN will order 30 FA-18

I think you mean the F/A-18D Hornet which is a 25% smaller jet. Different capabilities.
It’s a shame the CFTs didn’t make the cut. I’m sure they have a good reason for leaving them off.
1080p nice!
Where are the conformal fuel tanks on the backside?
They removed those. Due to structural problems during testing

Really hope to see the Air Force gets the Super Hornets
Air force won't they will order 114 rafale but Navy will order 30 FA-18
I love this baby.
What's different with the block III series? cupholders?
Nothing, but it costs more so the tax payers get to pay the for the MAX fines and survivor fund.
It has an F-35 style screen replacing the MFDs, an IRST & is able to have CFTs now.

Some will be built brand new and some in current service will be upgraded.
Yessssss
