i remember Chinook performance during 2005 earth quick in Pakistan, Where this mighty aircraft performed extraordinary. Many newspapers at that time called this helicopter as the Hero of relief operation. Thank you, Chinook, for that great job. People of Pakistan can't forget your services.
I remember as a little kid seeing the chinook in a movie and just falling in love with it. Still a testament to its versatility. Heck, it’s what got me interested in aviation…
As a child I have fond memories of seeing this beautiful hulk doing flight training at the former Fort Meade Army Airfield (now Tipton Airport) but nowadays after spending over 30+ years studying and flying in aviation I can honestly this twin rotor beast is my personal favorite transport helicopter in the world! Hope it far exceeds its expectations for service life!
I remember them as kid in southern New Jersey in the mid 1960s. They would fly from Ft. Dix to a ship/ships out in the ocean to drop off the young guys heading to Vietnam. At least that's what I was thinking back then. Very impressive machines in formation.
That is an eye opener ! I never knew Chinooks were built by Boeing. And I rode one of these guys when I was stationed in Germany in the 70s .The Army used them to transport the nuclear warheads for the Pershing missile system, and whenever warheads were involved they needed armed guards, thus the reason I got to fly in one of them, and let me say this. Pictures do not do them justice. These birds are huge. Way to go Boeing….
Happy 60th anniversary to an amazing hovering machine with multi role water landing capability.....its a diamond achievement 🚁🎉 .....can't wait the Block-II got T-408 engine with greater range & capacity 🚁😇
If only the Australian army would get bambi buckets for firefighting here in Australia for our chinook fleet, we've got 12 chooks plus a couple more on the way.🤔🚁
Ah yes, alleviated so much suffering by mostly delivering troops for the wars of choice. Let's create positive PR by focusing on relief missions. Genius.
Esse heli é uma obra prima da engenharia, uma pena os comandantes militares terem destruido o Exército Brasileiro, se fosse um país com forças armadas sérias nós teriamos uns 6 Chinooks, uma pena.

This is my Kittie Kats favorite helicopter. She runs to the front door, watches it, then races to the back door to watch it disappear.
Ahh yes, the good old chinook!

แต่ถุงลมนิรภัยก็ถือเป็นทางเลือกที่ดีมันควรที่จะผ่านถุงลมก่อนที่ส่วนสำคัญ
I like boring aircrafts! 🛫🛫🛬🛬
I'm surprised to see that Stephen King quit writing horror novels and now working for Boeing.
