    I no longer get upset at lowball offers - it's just a small part of Ebay life. I will counter with not too much off, and occasionall I'll send an offer 1 cent lower than my original price just for fun. That's usually the end of it. But any offer activity is good because Ebay seems to give listings with offers more exposure. I usually sell it shortly thereafter at a good price. Don't waste your energy blocking buyers - focus only on the positive.

    I block lowballers because if I just decline they end up sending more insanely lowball offers. I’ve also been blocking a lot of demanding or controlling people who thought they could tell me how to run my business. I’m not talking about helpful suggestions. I’m talking about people flat out being demanding and controlling. Here’s an example. I have an item that I’m the only person who has that item and I priced it for what it sells for, and I was nice enough to send this person an offer knocking off a good portion of the price, but they immediately sent me a message saying that they would pay $20 for it and that’s all, and that my offer wasn’t low enough. That particular item sells for $75. I’m also blocking people who are too demanding on low dollar items like I had someone expect me to answer a dozen questions and send them dozens of pictures of a $15 item. I’m not doing that. I value my time more than I value a buyer who’s just wasting my time.

    • @Retired2Resell
      @Retired2Resell  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the comment. I have almost the exact same issues. I know that I get way more questions and low offers on items that are price $20 and under. No issues at all with the more expensive items. I had an old Barbie doll listed for $9 and they asked me about 10 questions about it! Ha

      I never answer questions. Despite what you hear on youtube, Ebay does not penalize for not answering messages. I Also put a polite blurb in my listing that I will not pull an item from inventory to answer a question. I set a bar on the items I allow offers on. On posh, I have a blurb that reasonable offers up to 20% off will be considered or countered. Anything in excess will not be considered. These things have helped make my life bearable now. 😂

    • @Resellocity
      @Resellocity 5 месяцев назад

      @@jenna1395 I don’t answer questions anymore either because I kept having people literally spend hours asking me questions and not a single one of them ever bought anything. I’d be careful about advertising it though because there are people in the reselling community that like to try to bully people who advertise things like that. I just saw a video the other day where a guru was attacking a small reseller because they don’t like how that reseller runs their business.

    I’m stressed out about getting lowball offers so I did no offer but sometimes I feel like I need sales and can accept them. Now I use both, it depends on the item. By the way, if you can recognize dog’s breed, you better put it. The dog owners are always looking for their breed things! I always put Duchshund instead of Dog when I search. The vans backpack is Welsh Corgi😊

    I just counter and play the game. I have offer thresholds on all my items so I would never see a 75% off offer. Play the game and Ebay usually rewards you. I’ve gotten bad offers, countered, then another item sells within 30 minutes.

    I recently had a pair of Free People flare leg jeans in like new condition listed for $39 (retail was $148.) Someone on eBay sent me an offer $1 along with a snarky note that said the jeans were sold brand new for only $29 and why was I asking more than retail. Uhhhh…what? I immediately declined and blocked and then the jeans sold a few days later on posh for my full asking price. People are weird. I typically automatically decline any offer 50% or more below asking (unless it’s something that has been sitting for a very long time.) If they come back with another way too low offer, I block.
