And the stress of going against 3 blockers. Also, even though Dateko has a newbie for their 3rd wall, 2/3 of the main Iron Wall has the highest rate of blocking in the prefecture/country (not sure which; Ukai said it last season).

When it came to that last point, Iwa wasn't saying they haven't been trying. He was basically just saying your block isn't strong enough. That's why he was mad at Oikawa, because Oikawa didn't give him his usual set, out of fear of the triple block. But Iwa was just like "give me the set you always give me. Trust me. I'll make it through"
The Dateko trio in the bleachers are the 3rd yrs of Dateko that retired because they lost to Karasuno last tournament. Moniwa, the ex-captain, used to be the setter. Now that he's retired, the new setter is a first year, Koganegawa. Just call him Koh-ga-neh. haha Even Haikyuu characters have difficulty saying his full surname.

My first time watching, I wasn't entirely sure they would win, but I was definitely leaning that way. They improved so much from a technical stand point. Looking back on season 1, their attacks were relatively straightforward with the freak quick and decoy and pipe. But now they have so many other weapons in the mix. they have the synchronized attack, they have the libero's jumping set, they have Asahi doing jump serves, they have Hinata able to control the new freak quick, and they have Tsukki becoming more of a threat. All of this, plus all their instincts and reaction times just becoming faster from the nature of playing good teams all summer. They're all actually thinking about how to adapt too. Not to mention, they just pulled off a clutch win against a very solid team without Daichi. That has to be a huge morale boost and proof that they can compete with the best. I get that Seijoh improved, but Karasuno exploded with improvement

Aahhhh i’m so excited for you to watch this match. So many fantastic & hype moments to come. I’ve watched it so many times, but i‘m at the each of my seat everytime.
Seijoh Vs Karasuno is top tier anticipation
First time I watched haikyu, I thought they would smoke seijoh. They are just so much better than they were at the end of season 1 where the match was pretty close.
But you have to keep in mind that Karasuno isn't the only team working to improve. Seijoh improved too. All their serves were more fierce, even Oikawa's, they had a more aggressive offense, they found other ways to counter Karasuno, etc.

Ayyee so hype for the next match I’m gonna have to hop over to Patreon for this! Also there’s an extra after match bonus cut with seijoh you guys should check out after ep 25, it wraps up the season really well before diving into s3!
Also yeah the two highlights for s2 for me are definitely the training camp and seijoh rematch. And I totally agreed with you guys when I first watched lol, even now I think seijoh is generally a more well rounded team, like everyone has their basics down pat and then some while karasuno still has some much more noticeable gaps in skill so 9 times out of 10 I thought seijoh would win, but karasuno is Tenacious with that X factor in hinata and kageyama being a genius, and the team as a whole DO have the ability to overcome when push comes to shove. I thought that they’d improved a lot but there was a lot to improve to begin with, so like we saw at the training camp it’d just take them longer to adapt. They’d learn something each time and keep building, but ultimately I was 60/40 for seijoh realistically (maybe even 70/30 since mad dog was ??), but 50/50 when taking into account the plot. And then I thought even if they did win the rematch against seijoh they’d probably lose before making it to nationals 😂 but then again we know in sports that the better looking team on paper doesn’t always win the match and there’s always so many variables at play so who’s to say! Love both teams so ultimately I was really happy but also heartbroken with how this match turned out

Man. Karasuno vs Seijoh rematch, god, here we go again lol (have seen this so many times but I will always, always get hyped.) And all y'all going 'ooo' at Iwa lol, yes - Oikawa is Oikawa but Iwaizumi will slam that shit any day lmao, and that's Oikawa's homie (I agree with Diana's note that we need Iwa to calm down actually lmao-)
And I can see your point Rise - 50/50 for me when I first watched I think! Bc they did do the training camp against teams that are consistently high level and despite losing throughout they came close in that last match against Fukurodani - with Bokuto as one of the highest rated spikers - to flipping it round, and I think that was a sign.
