JLT has been a force all the way back to the fandango days. Nobody can dim his light no matter how many people try. I respect the hell out of him and his gigantic incredible catalog, which he's given to the fans.

I saw Deep Purple and Rainbow some kind of jazz musicians in the 50's making great album with different lineups... That the mentality... Why everything has to be built by the same "standard" way? All of them are and were awesome musicians... Thanks for this interview Mr. Turner. Keep up the good work.
That is what I loved about Ritchie. Cycling through vocalists really makes listening to rainbow fun. I used to hold up the mark 4 line up of purple as my favorite. However, I think Ritchie was right for moving on. I currently view Ronnies’ version of rainbow as the high water mark of the rock genre. But I am glad there were only a couple of Ronnie albums of rainbow.
Joe was talking about the Deep Purple/Rainbow family tree and all the people that played in those bands he forgot about Whitesnake and too a certain degree Sabbath , it seems every one who was with Purple, wound up in at least one of those bands

I really think J.L.T. is one of the best out there and he always did justice to all the singers that had come before him I personaly think he was in the best Version of 🌈 Rainbow and Rising Force so my question to Joe is why wasn't he Perry's replacement in Journey??? it's just a no brainer for me the range is there and also will Rainbow be in the Rock roll Hall of Fame why does Rainbow get overlooked ??? I still hear some people preferring Bruce Dickinson in Samson and still hang on the Paul Di'Anno era with Maiden. And then there's bands like Journey of which probably no-one can still remember the band without Joe Perry.
Personally when it comes to Purple lineups I put MK3 & MK5 before MK2, although it’s all subjective. When Joe was pushed out of Purple Blackmore should have walked too & reformed Rainbow rather than limp on with someone he obviously didn’t want to work with.
Good idea... But Candies would have never allowed that to happen - she wanted to be the start with her Mother being tge Captain of the RB ship... This is the history...

Gillan and Coverdale were replacements but they did good music and JOE did that in RAINBOW but not so much in PURPLE, it did not work commercially because not all the songs were at the same level of quality. i am a big fan of TURNER i hate GILLAN but he was SO relevant that he is still in the band which is not SO purple anymore.

Slaves and Master was a great album. There are many memorable riffs and solos.

I'm not entirely sure Joe had the range to sing in Journey, as great of a singer he is.
Joe lynn turner is a fantastic vocalist nit he os in no way close to steve perry in vocal range!
