King Harald and the royal family greet the children's parade on 17. May 2022

The 17. of May is our national day, the constitution day of Norway. The day is usually celebrated locally, people will gather at their local school, someone might hold a short speach and the children (and sometimes their parents too) will walk in a small parade and wave with flags. In Oslo however, all the schools merge together and holds one huge parade down the main street and across the Palace Square. And every year the royal family come out on the balcony to watch the whole parade.
King Harald is now 85 years, he has had some health issues during the last couple of years, and he has to walk with crutch. Still he stood on the balcony for 4 hours, greeting the people.

King Harald V stands next to the future Queen of Norway Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Of course the next King of Norway is his son Crown Prince Haakon Magnus his son and the son of Queen Sonja. Last year 2023 my wife was in Norway and she celebrated 17th of May -- Heia Norge (Long Live Norway) --Vic Alexander
