Gorgeous! (BTW, the only time I had Home Depot cut some wood for me the measurements were off by nearly half an inch on one piece, which I didn't notice until I got it home. So my advice is always to check those measurements before you leave the cutting station.)
Deep Sea is such a gorgeous near black blue, and I love it with the gold. Great choices, and amazing restorative work on that trim and the pull! ❤

Absolutely glorious! That buffet now looks QA very expensive Ralph Lauren Home piece. I have a 1940s Drexel mahogany "Hepplewhite" chest that I've been contemplating painting navy blue. After seeing what you've done here, my courage is growing. You made that old gal gorgeous again!

Beautiful as always. It reminded very much of the last makeover I did, many of the steps were the same but I managed to sand back the veneer top and whitewash it😊. I was very proud of myself as I had never sanded back veneer before🌸💕

No the drawers don't stick if I spray with them closed. I tape the edges to protect from overspray.

Just beautiful. I love the blue color with the gold hardware. I refinished a dresser recently with a navy blue paint on the body with gold hardware and I stained the natural wood on the top with a walnut stain. Looks amazing.

I have a near identical dresser. I bought a display on clearance and it's missimg two of the handles. I've looked through E-bay, Etsy and Amazon using Google photo search. While Etsy had closest match, I thought about just changing out top 3 with an artistic design replacing all 3 drawer handles up top. Some have bail handles and others are the same but wider. TIA.
I have a twin of this buffet. Mine is Duncan fife (sic). It’s from early to mid 50’s there is a picture of me sitting on top as a toddler. I was probably about 2. I was born early 1956. You gave me inspiration to make mine beautiful too!

This is now such a beautiful piece! I love the rich dark blue with the gold. One request. Your background music was just a bit loud. I had to turn up your voice and then turn down the music while I was watching the video. It was making my speakers on my laptop vibrate.

I have the exact same piece. My aunt gave it to me in the mid 80's. I used it as a dresser for years. I refinished it 20 years ago and it is now in my foyer. This looks great. I have all the original hardware on mine. The doorknobs are actual ornate and key like and difficult to use. The knobs you used look much more practical. Thanks for sharing.

So beautiful. But since it is for a young person protect the top with a piece of plexiglass or shatterproof glass. It would be very inexpensive protection. This would be a sin to ruin the top of the sideboard after all the wonderful time and effort you put into this piece. BRAVA!!

Quick question- why couldnt you get the top down to the bare wood? I have a piece with a similar finish and i was going to try to sand it down to get the wood top. Any reason its a bad idea?
I don’t know, I think I would have scraped this one, lol too much work for me!
If you don't want to remove the tag, I just wind them up around the cord and tape it. No more flying tags!

I know what you mean, but given CURRENT state - water damage, back rot, missing parts, etc - the skill and cost of bringing veneer to its original state not to mention not fitting in with family's decor it likely makes no sense. It's not a flip, but original owners' desire to make it work in their lives. There was a LOT of damage. The finished piece hide every flaw, paint job - smooth and color, just gorge. It could run anywhere from $1,200-$4,500 easily depending on the reseller 🤷🏻♀️
