The addition is coming along nicely! I channeled my inner LavenderClothesline yesterday while I was thrifting. I’m usually a hard goods girl but found a Pottery Barn duvet cover, a set of Pottery Barn shams, a Pottery Barn Kids sheet set, AND a Robert Graham shirt!!
Karen you & Roger deserve every bit of enjoyment this beautiful build brings. Both super hard working & lovely.Bless you both now & for your future happiness.Sharon🙏❤️🐨🦘
Adding to the size of the concrete pad was a good idea. More room for friends and seating! It’s coming along but I’m sure having a good builder helps a lot; I love how neat they are keeping the work site.
I agree, I saw that they were beautiful with the leaves being clear and coming up through the bottom. Karen had said that they were paperweights but I still thought she should have bought them anyway. I would have bought them from her
When we built we went for French doors because we could open both doors and have a wide opening for moving furniture in and out. It has saved us a few times. We bought a double wide retractable screen door for the French door off the kitchen. We have a large bedroom with seating also but no TV.. My husband didn't want one in the bedroom. You will LOVE that big patio!!!
Congratulations on the New Addition!! Looks so Great! When my Husband and I built our Home...We wrote a message on the beams before they drywalled...A signature message dated to Commemorate our love. Maybe you and Roger could do something like that❤..In any event. I'm so happy for you both 🎉
Hello Karen & Roger, Your addition is coming along nicely. Can't wait for the final reveal. I bet you two are so excited. Roger you definitely found some great items today. You two are the Super Duo Thrift Couple. 👏 👏
I’m so happy for you and Roger!your new addition is going to be fabulous, your crew is doing an outstanding job! I wish they were here in Texas I’m going to be doing some remodeling! It’s almost wedding time Yah! Good choice of adding on rather than buying another house, makes a lot of sense! Thank you for taking us along on the build, I look forward to seeing your progress! 😊
Oh my goodness. Karen this video is great. I can't believe how huge your house looks now.......I loved seeing all the renovations and look forward each time you post to seeing more. God bless you both. Such a great job
It’s all about you… We just love you Sis. You guys are so great together. Reminds me of my husband and I. He retired recently and helps with my online biz. I bing and watch all your content as I’m listing and photographing.
Karen thank you for showing us your home love watching your addition turning into a beautiful room. They say if a couple can survive a renovation they can survive anything. So you and Roger will be together forever ❤️❤️❤️😍
Your new addition is going up by leaps and bounds. I loved the paperweights, i think you missed out there Karen. The pyrex dishes even though the lids were missing maybe you should have grabbed them. As always love yours and Roger's vlogs. Keep on keeping on.
I love the changes you made in the bedroom closet. Looks more visually appealing and interesting with that corner cut. 💕You’ve got some really good ideas Karen (and Roger, I’m sure!) Good luck to you both going forward! 🥰
Karen, have you or Rodger thought about writing to each other on the boards. Many people do that these days. It can be love note, dates, scriptures, or something you both know is there. Kinda a love binding in your bedroom that will always stay there for both of you. It can be romantic if you think about it. Some people even have family write to you like your daughter and you will always know the room is filled with your love and also family love. Kinda makes the room warmer because you always know it is there . Just an idea.
Hello Karen! I am very impressed with your amazing addition! Your contractor keeps the workspace very clean outside & in & is making excellent progress. With all the windows in your bedroom you will have to thrift some great drapes/ window coverings. I'm sure you & Roger will be very happy there! Get some rest my dear lady as you are doing so much all the time! Thank you for your Sunday video which I always look forward to! Patty 💚🐦🎶 Alberta 🇨🇦🍁
I'd put that beautiful old hand painted dish either in a stand to display it, or on the wall'[carefully]. I'm drawn to the older hand painted decor also, and have a love for florals. I don't find them easy to decorate with but hang them in the bathroom. It seems you are very happy with your life, it's nice of you to share it. Don't paint the walls gray, use a color you love. You have great taste, and gray's on it's way out anyway. About time. That old teapot might look good on your bathroom vanity. Idk how well it would sell lidless, but it's pretty.
Karen, everything is looking wonderful! I know you must be so excited! I have not been able to watch a few videos recently, so I was surprised to see the progress! So happy for you and Roger! Have a great week!
Popped into savers yesterday after debating if I should and what did I find, a glassybaby brand new in gratitude. Found a beautiful cloisonné box too. This is why I can’t resist the thrift!
Wow! It looks great! A 9x15 bathroom.. amazing! I have a patio outside my bedroom and I LOVE it! You're on your way to an exciting adventure! Thanks for bringing us along!
Karen, you are my favorite RUclipsr I love watching your videos I also am in Lancaster county I moved here from California several years ago I love it here and I love all the shops and I love that you introduced me to new shops that I didn't know about before.
Ok, so now, WHEN is the wedding?? I would love to find a Roger. Your story is beautiful and inspiring❤️And PS, put a lamp in your living room with some COLOR, live on the wild side, a beautiful floral maybe. 😊
You're videos are so calming and wholesome. It really helps with my anxiety! Also what is Rodgers skin care routine? He has beautiful skin and so handsome. Thank you for your content.
Your lamp is still available at that other online seller, but $418 the pair is pretty stiff. Just proves what good taste you have! You should make an offer!
I'm so thrilled for you two. I just squirt white vinegar on my weeds from a dish soap bottle and they die w/in 2 days. I don't do that in the grass but just in flower beds or rocks and driveway lines in the cement. Blessings Always
Slider vs French Doors: Traditional real French doors open out, so I always advise against them unless there is a good roof overhang in areas with rain or snow, because folks leave them open and if caught in a shower can be prematurely ruined, depending on what they’ve made of. Of course, many companies now offer the look of “French” style doors that open in, but you give up a lot of interior space to swing both doors fully open. I like a good quality Slider, as a space savor. Select a model that has locks that can be opened from the outside. Some don’t have that option. One other thing to consider, since you mentioned bringing stock in, is that Sliders often have higher thresholds then regular doors, so rolling over them with a hand truck (if that’s in the plan) might be a consideration. Opting for the larger outside slab now was a great decision!
I get a strange feeling when you show where the door to the basement is, like I know what's down there, but your house is really getting moved about, as though that door is like the door to Narnia. Funny sensation. Your new bedroom is going to be wonderful!
I have the tops to the pyrex refrigerator glass containers, and I bet there are others who also have them after the dishes broke or got misplaced. Also look at at Roger shop! He has bargain toys and half price shirts right off the bat. Karen, what a man! 🥸
Karen, the pot you found is a chocolate pot. Any that have the spout way up at the top are chocolate pots. A teapot is short and stout and a coffee pot has a long spout that starts down lower and “swirls” up. I collect chocolate pots, but only buy them if they have the lids. I really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing with us.
It was told to me by Dr. Lori that chocolate pots are only metal ones with a handle midway or in the middle of the pot that all ceramic pots are strictly coffee or tea.
@@lanna7917 sorry I don’t believe Dr. Lori is correct. I’ve never heard of such a thing and I’ve been a collector for 40 years. I’ve never seen a metal chocolate pot!
@@JudyCoggins Oh no I wasn't trying to be bossy or a know it all, lol just passing along something I learned from her and thought it would be interesting to someone else. If you search them on google or e bay they do show the metal ones. I know I like to learn something every day but also found the older I get the less I know! How ironic you picked up the golf glass!! I just sold 3 of them for $40 plus shipping! But they were engraved for a VERY exclusive resort in WV, The Greenbrier ( Mother’s Day brunch will be $125 PER adult!) Those glasses were heavy almost a pound and 1/2 each!! I accepted a best offer because they were going back to the Virginia(s) area. I figured they meant something important to the buyer.
Hallways: I’ve always found hallways to be a waste of space. Sometimes they are a necessary evil, but when I design a house I try to keep them to a minimum and get the space to do double duty, such as providing access to a room, while also being the space needed at the bottom of a stair. Nice layout around the new exterior door. Seems to flow well. Seeing the room layout around the laundry area shows that in-swing French doors would be awkward, restricting access to rhe bedroom, when the French doors are left open. Going with the slider looks like a much better solution.

I would've snatched those Pyrex up, myself. You just don't find them out in the wild here in Texas.
For sure the white and turquoise ones!

The glass top u picked up goes with some refrigerator containers maybe not yours but people will buy either top or bottom.

Ugh that Pyrex 🤦♀️ you should have grabbed great price and you would have made great profit !
On that teapot without the lid and unmarked…. Underneath it looked like there was an imprinted mark around the bottom edge. I think….😊
