Hi Karen! As a former Goodwill employee in your area, I want to thank you for bringing much good energy and publicity to them. I was an Employment Specialist - we worked with clients with disabilities to help them find and learn competitive jobs that matched their skill sets. Proceeds from the stores help finance these efforts as well as many other job development programs in the organization.
Not quite - as reported in the 2021-2022 annual report for my area goodwill, the stores generated 63.2 million in sales and 62 million was spent on Mission Services. While there are other revenue streams, the stores support the services.
My mother had the twelve days of Christmas glasses, and when the whole family gathered for Christmas Eve, she would have us sing the song and whichever glass you had, you had to sing that verse. So fun! Thanks for the memory.
Hi Karen - The glasses from the Twelve Days of Christmas ... they sell much better individually. A complete set doesn't sell for enough to warrant the buy-in price, but I sold them individually about a year ago for $9.95 each. There's always someone looking to buy just one that has been broken from their own set. I actually had all twelve, but still sold them individually to get more of a profit. All twelve sold in the month up to Christmas in 2020 or 2021.
Happy Easter Karen! Want you to know that when my Husband and I go into the Thrift Store...We always say "Let's Go And Get What's Ours!" You are a Joy...Thank you for taking the time to make your videos and share them with all of us ❤
Love your voice, makes watching you and Roger so wonderful! I do not miss an episode, I’m a thrifter from tn. Just retired to do full time. Having the the time of my life! Keep inspiring!
I always look forward to your hardgoods shopping video’s. Not only because of the realy nice things you find but also because of the person you are. I know you do not have the time for that, but I could watch these kind of video’s every day. Succes on the renovations. You also struck gold with Roger, and he with you. 🤗I live far away in the Netherlands, but I am a fan. 👍🏻😃
Move all your additional stuff from dining room to garage and then you can put your desk and shipping items into the dining room. That way living room is still a relaxing no clutter area.
I wouldn’t put breakables ( new mirrors, quartz countertop, glass lights)in the garage because things are always happening in there (removing and replacing the lawn mower, weedwacker, leaf blower etc) spray painting items etc
Is there any guy that's sweeter than Roger ? He has the best smile and giggle. Seems like a " Go with the flow " guy. I think you have a keeper..for sure ! 😉😊
Hi Karen. Before you decide on the tub, look at Signature Hardware. We paid less than $3000 and our tub is massive. My 5’11” husband fits very well. I believe it’s also free shipping. A lot of the luxury builders in our area suggested them. Much love ❤️ I have no idea if they service Pennsylvania. We are in TX
Actually I think Content Creators do affect reselling, but in a more balanced way then is often criticized. Crowded Stores are simply the ebb and flow of the business. At best, Content Creators can create competition to source items, but it’s just as likely their videos are creating a renewed interest in Buyers to make an e-commerce purchase for a used item, since not all viewers are Resellers.
Shipping Station Relocation: you could always shift the Shipping Station Downstairs (at least temporarily) rather then upset your kitchen. Since you pull to pack from downstairs anyway, it wouldn’t upset your process flow as much, though not having a view while you pack might seem a less enjoyable. It’s nice to work in the sunshine when you can. For us in the winter gray of the Pacific Northwest a lack of sun can get a person down….
I am also in the PNW (Portland) & I can relate so much to your comment! I just spent 2 weeks in San Diego & it was difficult to come home to the rain. I know it’s what keeps our part of the world green, but I sure am ready for Spring!!
My husband and I were blessed to build a custom home in 2020. The footprint looked tiny. Don’t worry about the size looking too small. Of course, make sure the dimensions match your plans. But it seeming too small is mostly an illusion.
Hi Karen and Roger!! The builder's are moving right along. It is nice you keep us posted as to where they are now and how much progress they have made. I look forward to your next video! Happy Easter!!
Textured pillow cases can be described as "Textured woven rug throw-pillow case tufted" and can be quite popular 🙂 You have a couple white ones in your living room! 😃
Hi Karen & Roger and happy Easter ! 🌸🐰✝️🌼🦋 Jeans to the wedding. 🤣 I love it. I let my senior prom date wear jeans, haven’t thought about that in a while. I can hear the excitement for life in both of your voices ! 💜💞💚💘💙
We were just at that Goodwill for our 1st time at the bins Saturday. You are right we got a lot of nice hard goods at the store. It was overall at great road trip. Thanks for all your advice.
I was feeling this way after one year of reselling, so I rented a storage space for my goods. Will build an addition to my house in a few years, a garage with apartment over it. Then my goods can be back home.
I probably would have bought the 12 days of Christmas and sold separately. Many people may be missing one or two because of breakage. That is if course if the price was right. Congratulations in the house and upcoming nuptials!
I would move the bathroom vanity into the living room(put a scarf over the top to cover the sinks) then you could use the dining room for office and shipping(after moving some of the other items to the garage or basement). That's my way of thinking.
Enjoy thrifting with you today. Do you need that particular thrifting dresser it is very large perhaps a table and use the storage underneath with bins
Roger and Karen, everything is so exciting! and so happy for you both❤️ Having a ceremony in your new property would be so adorable, and new videos to come, happy, happy, happy 🤗 thank you.
Loving the house updates. Of course always love the reselling part but the house updates are so exciting. I am over the moon happy for you and Roger and also Mellissa and Bare! So Blessed! I don't typically comment on youtube videos because typically I have it on my TV which is why I comment more on Instagram.
I have the 12 days of Christmas glasses. They belonged to my parents. Probably 70’s/80’s. So much deja vu today, black Asian trinket box, I still have mine, lol Love the cat bookends, too much $. Love the pillow covers, they are farmhouse or boho style maybe. Shoes are $12.99 here in Canada too. I did find new with tags/stickers Clark’s ladies shoes yesterday however it was senior day so 25% off.
Hey Karen, so nice to see you and Roger working and having fun together. I’ve been involved with at least 4 building projects and a dad who was a building contractor. I always tell people to get a prospective on size when you’re at the foundation level, picture a TV in the far corner. If it appears small in your mind, you can see the area is a larger space then you thought. Otherwise the space seems small. Hope that helps. ♥️
Hi Karen, interesting video! The addition is coming along! You mentioned kiddingly(?) about putting steps leading up to the tub. We have steps leading up to our whirlpool tub which was installed when the house was built back in the mid-90s. Big mistake because once one gets to the top step it is a long step down into the tub. Best to straddle a narrow wall rather than risk a tumble into the tub! I am seriously thinking about having those steps removed and the flooring redone. 😊
Hello Karen. So, your foundation wall seems like it is going up to your house right where the floor would start. So, just as your current house shows some of the foundations, so will this wall. This is why you have steps up to the back of your office because the ground is lower than your ground floor, I'm guessing to give room for your basement. I can see that your yard is sloping down and away from your house, which is good. No one wants rain running toward your house.
I love Roger’s answer: I’m wearing jeans, what are you wearing? I’ll just match what you’re wearing ! Great answer ❤❤❤❤❤. Great video Karen, I can’t get over Goodwill’s prices. Do you get many estate sales in your area? And yard sale season is starting soon if not already. I’m sure prices are better for your profit margins. Have a great week ! ❤
I would love to say hi & thank you in Goodwill. It would be like a celebrity sighting for me! I started my eBay store 2.5 years ago bcs of you, and it is financing my move from Hawaii to France this summer! So... Thank you Karen for helping my dream come true!
I ventured over to a new goodwill last week (new to me that is), I hit the jackpot, so much good stuff. I love seeing the stages of your addition, I worked as a renovation mortgage counselor for years, so construction gets me excited. Love the tub, good to know you can find quality items off Amazon like that.
Have built many houses- it's amazing how small the foundation and then the decking look. I've always thought the area was too small but when the wall joists go up, the house seems larger, not smaller. Don't understand that process but it always works.
I dont know if that is 600 sq ft...get your tape measure out. I have built a home from ground up ..and boy, there were many mistakes. One wall was built 3 ft shorter so my kichen and dining room lost a lot of space. But by the time I caught it ...too late. I'm so excited for yall. and my tub isn't nearly as long as yours I am short and I like my feet to touch the other end or I feel like Im going to go under water....🤣
Glad your opening and checking out your new items for the house . My sister in law bought a new counter and the counter was broken and the tub didn't have the jets in it like they were supposed to ( and paid for) . Its going to be beautiful!
KAREN, I went BACK TO GOODWILL for a RLL LAUREN BLAZER… after looking up, as it was $9.99 and selling on eBay for $120-200. Got it home and it had run holes I didn’t notice!! Near the shoulder and on arm, couldn’t see it in navy fabric! I’ve been missing flaws, in fact, I have 2 paper bags full of clothing for resale, with flaws I didn’t see in store! You’re so right, quality /condition is so important. I usually don’t miss these… I do soo PPO end time looking over, in store, but more briefly. I know what you mean!!! If I could tell anyone anything, TAKE THE TIME to inspect BEFORE you buy, especially with the price of clothing at goodwill..going up, they will tag anything
Love the white top you picked up first. I too would keep it. Roger looked mighty comfy in that gorgeous tub Karen. I don't think you and he will have any problem. Great video and will you let us know the exact day you are getting married?? God bless you both.
The Macau vase, is likely from the 70s, but we’re pretty common, so not likely of much value for the size box it would ship in. Macau itself, however has an interesting history and paralleled Hong Kong as a trading port, though is less well known. Portuguese Macau was an interesting place to visit, back before it reverted to China in 1999. Kind of a cross between the gambling casinos on the French Riviera and the open markets in Thailand.
Desk underneath the white photo, shipping dresser perpendicular in front of fireplace to make a work corner, wrapping supplies on the white shelves. You will need to move the coffee table.
You are so welcome!
Is it true only 1/8 of the proceeds go into missions tho?
Not quite - as reported in the 2021-2022 annual report for my area goodwill, the stores generated 63.2 million in sales and 62 million was spent on Mission Services. While there are other revenue streams, the stores support the services.
Hi.. Pottery barn pillow covers could be used for a pet bed with a foam insert.
Fruit topiary caught my eye too
My mother had the twelve days of Christmas glasses, and when the whole family gathered for Christmas Eve, she would have us sing the song and whichever glass you had, you had to sing that verse. So fun! Thanks for the memory.
“Does Goodwill love a good cat?! Yes they do!!” 😂♥️
I met a guy in Goodwill! How many people can say that! What a find! 😍😂
Best find ever! 😁👍
I'm so happy for You and Roger, yall are beautiful people

Ack! Good to know. I was just about to write Karen to tell her I found the only one she was missing just the other day and didn’t pick it up:)
Rogerseems like such a sweetheart ❤

I would have purchased those Cat Bookends from you, chip and all! Do I love a good cat, yes I do! 😊 ~ Amy 😍
Like the ear-notch they give community cats when they’ve been fixed. Pretty realistic actually. 😺
The rug pillow covers are abt adding texture to the deadly dull fashion of gray and beige EVERYTHING. A decor Hail-Mary.
I always look forward to your hardgoods shopping video’s. Not only because of the realy nice things you find but also because of the person you are. Crowed Parking at Lancaster Goodwill: some might say you’ve done your part over promoting your favorite GW and you brought the crowd with you. 🙂🙂

OMGoodness that punched tin chandelier is everything!!!
I love how much you & Roger laugh. I am just so happy for the 2 of you! 😊❤😊
I love the frog to

You met a “gorgeous” man so you went out and got what’s yours. Yipp, yipp, yippee!!!🥳
Hi Karen and Roger!! The builder's are moving right along. It is nice you keep us posted as to where they are now and how much progress they have made. I look forward to your next video! Happy Easter!!
I'm so happy for you and Roger. He seems like such a nice and caring man. Can't wait to see the wedding photos!
The cheese grater! I love it. So many kitchen items that I refuse to buy retail. 😂
Love kitchen gadgets!
Me, too. Why buy Pyrex or bowls when thrift store have them in excellent condition!!
Hi Karen happy Easter love you giving us update on your home an your lovely Roger ,lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Textured pillow cases can be described as "Textured woven rug throw-pillow case tufted" and can be quite popular 🙂 You have a couple white ones in your living room! 😃
And they can be used on the floor.
Believe it or not that fruit tree is made by Waterford and goes for pretty good money, I found one at Goodwill last year along with two topiaries.
Karen, THE GARAGE is perfect for your packing station. The wall to the left of your beautiful tub.
My garage is very dirty 😂
Wow! Time doesn't stand still, does it?
Excited to see the finished project! Take care, be well!😊
Hi Karen & Roger and happy Easter ! 🌸🐰✝️🌼🦋 Jeans to the wedding. 🤣 I love it. I let my senior prom date wear jeans, haven’t thought about that in a while. I can hear the excitement for life in both of your voices ! 💜💞💚💘💙
The Impromptu bowl by Ben Seibel is MCM and can be worth money depending on the piece and the design. The "atomic" designs are worth more.
The pillow covers are maybe for floor or rec room/ tv watching couches (?)
Also, Love Gorham!! They were here in RI for Decades...We see many Gorham Pieces still when we thrift shop here.
We were just at that Goodwill for our 1st time at the bins Saturday. You are right we got a lot of nice hard goods at the store. It was overall at great road trip. Thanks for all your advice.
Don't know a lot about building, but I know that you want the ground next to your house to be higher so the moisture will drain away.
Girl, I’m amazed at your ability to keep organized. 60 years old and started reselling in the last 10 years. My whole house is crazy!
Lol I know the feeling. I have decided to slow down until I get most of my space back
❤
I was feeling this way after one year of reselling, so I rented a storage space for my goods. Will build an addition to my house in a few years, a garage with apartment over it. Then my goods can be back home.

Never put your work in your living space. You will never feel separation
I look forward to your videos!! I am so happy you and Rodger found each other. I love seeing the house updates. Living our best life.
The pillow cases have a very
Boho look
Enjoy thrifting with you today. Do you need that particular thrifting dresser it is very large perhaps a table and use the storage underneath with bins

Make sure you inspect that tub! Hate to see something wrong with it at installation
Love that you say our home…..
Doggy Pillow!
That is what I was thinking or maybe a kitty pillow pad.

Happy Easter to you and Roger ! Enjoy your Day 🤗 Great Walkthrough and Haul !
I'm obsessed with how Roger pronounces "stone". Looking forward to seeing your build progress.🇮🇪☘️
They are floor pillows. You can always convert the garage into workspace. Lot of people do that.

Karen this was fun
You two are adorable 💕💕
I wait every Sunday for your video. 😊
Don’t forget Wednesdays! 😂
I give you snaps! I could not live with the whole house in disarray! Can not wait to see everything finished!

Such fun..so excited for all your great stuff happening..addition, wedding. It's so great, you met at a Goodwill.
You two are great to watch. ❤
Awesome!!! First to comment
😂
suggestion, put the sofas and chairs and other large items in a storage unit, so u have space...or reorganize the garage...or buy a garden shed...
Oh gosh I love my Brooks sneakers!! I’m going to guess the Pottery Barn throw pillowcases will sell quickly.
I ventured over to a new goodwill last week (new to me that is), I hit the jackpot, so much good stuff.

Ben Seibel can be collectible. And it is mid-century modern. His Impromptu by Iroquois is a popular pattern.
Just use the pillow cases as throw pillows for your couch.
Karen, I can see exactly what you see in your gorgeous husband to be! You are both going to be so happy.
Thank you! 😊
I dont know if that is 600 sq ft...get your tape measure out. I have built a home from ground up ..and boy, there were many mistakes. Roger is such a good sport!
Your “New England” really comes out when you say: radiator. LOL
Love this channel!
UGH, it's so hard functioning during construction!! The end result will be amazing though!!
Glad your opening and checking out your new items for the house . My sister in law bought a new counter and the counter was broken and the tub didn't have the jets in it like they were supposed to ( and paid for) . Its going to be beautiful!
Congrats with your new move with you life! Happy for you both! 😍
Love the tub! Single drape panels make good pillow cover fabric.
Happy Easter.
Your voice is very calming.
God bless you both🐰✝ Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! Glad to see you and Roger keeping your sense of humor through the remodel! You’re both amazing 🥰♥️😊
Roger is always a trooper🤗.. what he does for us viewers🤗💕🙏🏼
all that good packing material / bubble wrap
I think the Pottery Barn pieces could be dog beds or dog bed covers.
KAREN, I went BACK TO GOODWILL for a RLL LAUREN BLAZER… after looking up, as it was $9.99 and selling on eBay for $120-200. Got it home and it had run holes I didn’t notice!! Love the Pottery Barn pillow covers! 🩶
Thank you for including your home addition info on your channel! Your channel continues to be enjoyable to watch!!
I have that exact fruit topiary. Pull it out every Christmas. I love it, it is Waterford!
Loving the addition. Can't wait to see it all done. Still lots of room in your backyard for many BBQs.
Those PB pillow covers will sell. Great combo of tailored and funky.
So much fun seeing what you bought and what is happening with the renovation Karen. They are really moving along!
Love the white top you picked up first. I too would keep it. Roger looked mighty comfy in that gorgeous tub Karen. I don't think you and he will have any problem. Great video and will you let us know the exact day you are getting married?? God bless you both.
Great video and your renovation is coming along. I'm sure you're excited 😊
Love the tub🤗💕
Seems like the pillow cases would be good for floor pillows. 🤷♀️
