white noise, brown noise and pink noise help my rumbling tinnitus but they make the high pitched sound seem louder. so i have to play that and music/nature sounds but it doesnt mask the ringing, i can still hear it, esp if i lie on my side which i find most comfortable. the worse side is my left and lying on my right gives me heart burn i just can't win!!!! i fear for the rest of my life im never going to sleep well ever again. im also sensitive to outside noise (traffic in distance, street traffic) and i cant wear ear plugs to mute them cause the tinnitus is even worse then. i am sick of it

I have tinnitus since healing from an ear infection. I cant describe how horrible the pain was. I've tried so many things and found no real help. My solution has been to let my subconscious know everything is back to normal and that the sound is enjoyable as it is white noise amplified.

I am not a tinnitus sufferer. But I have found something that keeps me asleep at night: piping news, primarily BBC World Service, into my hearing aids which I wear to bed. I originate the Beeb either from my iPhone or, lately, from my bedside Amazon Alexa Show. In either instance, Bluetooth does the job.

I make sure I am really tired when I go to bed, and then I go to sleep right away. But,…my tinnitus has got really loud in the last few weeks and some nights the above doesn’t work and I start stressing so I get up right away and have a 1/4 cup of warm 2% milk and that knocks me out.

Thank you for this - I've experienced mine in my right ear since about 2007, I think related to a scuba diving incident. Its very close to the 8000hz sound on your matching video. It has only started in my left ear in the last 6 months or so and at a little less volume. I was interested in why you say that tinnitus in only one ear may be a concern?

I can see hundreds of videos on youtube..but hrdly any one have description of pitch/khz on it. It means ii have to listen to it after some bloody ads from you tube and only to find out that it doest suit me.
I will prefer that you please describe the range it will work for. And explain if it should be heard ambient or on ear buds !

I have had tinnitus since childhood. I have had hearing aids for 10 years now. I tried to give my audiologist an idea of how loud the ringing is by using a dosimeter and played a C chord on my organ, gradually increasing volume till the ringing was masked. Over several measurements over several days, the DB needed was consistently around 78DB. Sometimes the ringing gets louder for a short time, loud enough that it prevents me from hearing any other sounds. I have just accepted the fact that I will never know silence, and I deal with it.

I've just jumped into sleeping without masking, going on over a week now. I find myself concentrating on tuning out my tinnitus using the mind (somehow) and I've found myself dropping off to sleep and sleeping fully.
Masking irriated my tinnitus and I felt like I was dealing with tinnitus and a masking sound simultaneously and it was too much. See how long I can keep this up though 🙂

Please Google it. I cannot explain well. It's very easy no need of nothing (yoga mattress not needed, flexibility not needed)
It actually balances the internal ear and sinuses.

I find that the typical masking sounds such as white /pink /brown noise or natural sounds like crickets or water etc can be helpful but not repeatable for long... I find a way to be distracted by it. I've discovered some unique asmr chess and card magic soft spoken videos work like a champ day after day. I'm out in less than twenty minutes most nights.
My tinnitus is pretty loud and in the 8-9k range (each ear is a different tone).
