Koots is me, it comes from a coworker I had as a teenager who couldn't pronounce my last name properly (I'm Inuit, it's a complicated word to spell and pronounce) and said it as Kootsiak, which gradually got shortened down to Koots by friends and coworkers. I just use that as my username a lot on the internet because it's usually not taken.
Glad you enjoyed the song, it never fails to get me pumped up ever since first hearing it back in the day. It was also on the soundtrack for Need For Speed Underground 2, which is probably where most first heard it.
Hell yea bro, thank you so much for your support and suggestion. Thank you my friend
Ive been begging for them to listen to this!! Killer request!!
@@missiebaker9975 so glad we finally did
Thanks for playing it great memory for me and my kids!!
I wish youde do COAL CHAMBER- FIEND SOON!!
Fun fact : Korn played Download festival in the UK but Jonathan Davies was unwell. They got Benji from Skindred and Corey Taylor to fill in vocal duties. I was there.
2006? I was there also
Yeah man. 2006 around that time.
@@metalguru85 Strapping Young Lad and Prodigy wer my two favourite shows from that weekend.
yeah, Benji said he really wanted to do twist, but was scared to try it live
Well that's the coolest thing I've heard all year
The singer is actually Welsh, but his parents were Jamaican immigrants. They had a great jam a couple years ago called That's My Jam, got a fun ass video.
He is a boss! Seen him around a festival he was playing at and he was loving being part of the scene. Benji is a boi!
Tour the uk a lot as headliners, everyone loves Skindred here! They’re madman’s on stage and one of us when they’re not
@@swampytheartistartist2106 The crowd went nuts at Leeds Arena when Skindred were on, supporting Volbeat.
Need For Speed Underground. Nostalgic!
Yessir. First time I ever heard this song. Seen them once in concert and it was A blast
@@NooDLES411911 very nostalgic. I havent seen them live but man you're so lucky. Cheers!
Soooo nostalgic!
One of the most underrated UK metal acts of the last 25 years.
This band is much loved in the UK metal scene. They're still touring regularly today and producing new music. They also play all kinds of venues. You can see them play for 50,000 fans at a festival one week and the next week they're playing to 300 in the back of a local rock bar.
They're also some of the nicest guys and you'll often see them just hanging out with fans after a gig.
Seen them play at the UK's biggest rock festival several times and they're the kind of band who you'll randomly bump into in the crowd watching other bands play.
They have zero ego and it's always an incredible show with these guys.
This couldn't be more true. I've always adored Skindred for all of these reasons. I have only heard stories because I live in a small town in the states and haven't ever seen them live much less hang out with them, but I have never heard a single bad thing and I've been a big fan of theirs since Nobody was released in 2002. Still making music, they just came out with L.O.V.E. which is not at all like this but still a jam i can get down with and i tend to listen to some of the heavier side of rock, there's just something about Skindred.
Along with dub war….
This is why I love metal. Genres you would never expect could go well with metal can create something amazing
Metal is like alcohol. You can mix it with almost anything and it'll taste good
There's probably more things to mention with that analogy
Most people learned about them from Need for speed underground 2
They had songs in the game Blitz The League I believe. Underrated game.
Skindred "Warning" Live, gota be live. Newport Helicopter !!!
I was at download uk for that for the first time and it was amazing 🤟🏼
I just went and watched this vid and that was incredible!! I miss huge crowds and live shows
Download 2012 was my first Newport Helicopter I’ve done many more since then. One of my favourite live bands.
Love me some Skindred - people had no idea back in the early 2000’s everyone was asking “wth I was listening to!”
It's about time we got some Skindred on here fam.
Amen
Hells yes and they can go the complete other direction to from the say album with “We want”
🦋 I Absolutely Agree with this Statement! 💯
@@mendyrckz76 A beautiful butterfly came floating by 😁
What's fam 🤔
Fun Fact: That singer is best friends with Jacobe from Papa Roach. You gotta hear their colab song called "Warning"
Check out their tracks "Ninja" and "Kill the Power".
The band are from Wales in the UK.
Speaking of ninjas we need some 12 Foot Ninjas on here. 😁
Seen them live loads, one of the best live bands on the planet. Also come from a town not far from me.
about 8 years ago, i got to see Nonpoint, Sevendust, and Skindred doing a smaller club tour.
those smart-asses called it "The Black Metal Tour"...
@@nothingmusic42 did loads of lanky kids in trench coats, spikey collars and corpse paint turn up and get really disappointed?
The Xmas shows in TJ's were incredible.
Whoever suggested this band, you deserve a metal! Going on a skindred binge now!
Hell yeah, good ole high school days right here.
I rewatched this while on toilet just so I could leave a comment.
Glad to see Skindred make an appearance. And a fitting song to boot. “Nobody gets out alive...”
Accurately describes my bathroom experience
Definitely need to get into BAD BRAINS now
This band were from my home country of Wales in the U. K and I had the pleasure of meeting the lead singer. He is seriously down to earth and walks the crowd thanking everyone for going. Obviously not now they do much bigger shows! I would suggest rat race or set it off acoustic version they are my faves
U guys definitely need to do Hed PE (Bartender or killing time) or Spineshank (Detached or where we fall)
Hed PE feel good feat soad and kittie
Hed PE - everybody dies
@@maneatingpie2338 u mean waiting to die
@@jables2153 yes sir, it's been a little while and I knew it didn't seem right when I typed it in
@@maneatingpie2338 lol me too
Oh man this is why I tune into listening to your youtube channel because I’m always discovering something extraordinary I would have never heard of otherwise
Haven't heard this song since HIGH SCHOOL. I bought the album after playing NFS Underground 2! This was a great throwback for me. THANK YOU for getting Skindred on the channel.
Happy you discover that. You should check Warning by them, live at Przystanek Woodstock, or Kill the Power, at Wacken
hell yeah, I have been jamming to Skindred since 98
One of britain's best live band. Their shows are amazing!
Guess I was about 18 when I discovered Skindread. It was bands like them that lead me from punk to metal to reggae to hip hop, to drum and bass and opened my musical tastes up to the point where I now have a massively eclectic taste. I'm so thankful for bands like Skindread.
Oh, hell yeah. Skindred is so great. I’ve mentioned Sumo Cyco to you guys on Patreon-Skindred’s vocalist Benji did guest vocals on their song “Move Mountains”. (Sumo Cyco toured with Jinjer; all three bands are on Napalm Records). Also, if you’re on the toilet long enough to need your phone, you need more fiber in your diet. 🤣
Insane song even its 2021 here
Stuck Mojo - Not Promised Tomorrow | Early rap/metal from the 90's that gives off the same vibes!
Bob Marley Meets Korn..... I got to meet the singer and guitarist during a small acoustic set at tower records in seattle, a few hours before the main concert. they even talked to us as we waited in line for doors to open. almost nobody else in line knew who they were at the time. was a really good high energy set
Seeing them live is a must, last weekend was the 6th time and always waiting for them to perform.
Yes!!! Introverts! I'm an anxious hater of humanity. You tube allows me to contact to people I would like to speak to but not associate with constantly. Much love and respect.
Haha. I feel that.
“Anxious hater of humanity” so edgy, much cringe
Seen them live around 18 times and live in the same town as their vocalist benji one of the coolest and most humble people I've ever met
AMAZING LIVE!!!!
Although he did tell me off at a gig because I was in the front row but I was using my phone and not taking part........ I was messaging the baby sitter 😆
Saw them twice in ATL a few years ago, amazing live and Benji was a very cool guy, talked to me and my buddy for an hour after the show
I saw these guys in a Harley Davidson's parking lot in texas on a day it was like 110°. Static x was there too but these guys killed it. Had so much fun!
One of those bands with a perfect discography, they are amazing live too.
Love Benji's ragga-patta
I was a fan of Skindreds first incarnation 'Dubwar" had the song 'Spiritual Warfare' stuck in my head all day which is what brought me here 😁
For another Reggae-Metal band, y'all need to check out Fire From The Gods.
I've been listening to these guys since before they were Skindred (previously Dub War). The last gig I went to before the first lockdown was Disturbed with Skindred as the support act, awesome gig!
The band originate from Wales and still tour all the little venues as well as festivals and big shows.
They regularly do a new year's gig at a local club to me.
Awesome band, awesome people, and awesome sound.
The name comes from skin head and deadlocks, punk with reggae.
Check out Rat Race, Kill the Power, Trouble, Ninja,....anything really.
The 1st band a few if them were in in early 90s, with Benji (lead singer) fronting it too, was Dub War. Thier biggest hits were Million Dollar Love, and Enemy Maker.
When that band split the remainder became Raw Bud (dub war backwards...guess they couldn't think of a new one) and Skindred was formed.
They have toured with a lot of bands, and Benji has done guest parts on many too.
He's also a half decent dj as well.
Not as a reaction, as you have heard this song, but here's footage of them live a few years ago doing Nobody.
You can hear his Welsh accent coming through when he's doing the crowd interaction.
This kind of crowd participation is standard for them no matter the size of the crowd too.

These guys are from the U.K. I've been lucky enough to see them twice on tour from the 1st two albums. You hit it on the head when you said it was amazing. I thought the same thing when I heard this song. They're an amazing band. Have many great albums. Just keep going from the beginning. Go from there. You won't be disappointed. I actually hung out with the bass player from this band at one of their shows. Really nice guy. They were all pretty nice.
Saw these guys supporting Pitchshifter in 2003 in Bradford, England. Elviss were meant to be supporting but they didn't show up. So glad they didn't because I fucking love Skindred and have since.
Skindred is one of my top 3 favorite bands of all time
If you like this check out "Dub War - Strike It". Its the Skindred singer Benji's old band. Killer track!!
Saw them in 2015 wacken Germany. it was in the morning like 11 am after like 2 days of rain summer everything was mud and they show was just a big ass party in the mud in 11 am every body is jumping moshing dancing in the mud, Till this day one of the best shows ive ever seen or been in it was nuts
You two have taste :D. My friend Emily Boo (a bad ass RUclipsr) recently interviewed the frontman of Skindred!!!! He is so sweet and seems like an amazing guy :).
I know this is an older video about a year ago from now or ago but I take my phone around the toilet all the time and I watch a lot of early morning trash talker videos on the toilet before I go to work and thumbs up and comment as we all should
Seen Skindred live a couple of times, they always put on a great show!
Dropping a duece right now. And this was my 90's. Backyard gigs every weekend.
Such an awesome British band. Excellent live. The singer benji is so charismatic, you need to check out the live stuff. Try the song warning live at resurrection fest. Featuring the Newport windmill. It’s how they close out every set
Listen to "Ratrace" as well!! Skindred is awesome!
I love when people hear skindred the first time. There's no way to prepare people for what's about to happen.
One of my guilty pleasures. HSix’s dance moves and Smokey’s smile is exactly how I act when this comes on. “He got out alive?!” 😂
🦋Awesome Request from Koots! On this fine Saturday in March. 😂 I never use my phone while on the toilet. But I most certainly am writing this at the very moment you made the Statement Smokey. 😉 Now I'm off to listen 2 some more Killer Music! Thanks Guys for starting my evening out with this Great Music!
Oh pleeeeeease when y'all can, go down the wormhole with these guys. I promise you, y'all won't regret it whatsoever.
Next recommendations I have are Kill The Power (brings out more of their hip-hop side a bit), Trouble, Cause Ah Riot, Warning, ooh boy..there's tons, lol.
Daaaang haven’t heard this band in so long! Back in the day with bands like Puya and Ankla! Hey would like to see a reaction to Soulfly someday guys 🤘🏼
Skindred's one of my favorite bands of all time. Thanks for reacting. "Pressure" is one of their best but "Rat Race" is a more recent song - and it's amazing. If you want something HARDER than this from them, react to "Set It Off".
They're fucking incredible live, seen them a few times now
Holy shit! This takes me back to middle school when I thought I was the the coolest kid ever cause I found this shit before anyone else. Hipster before hipster was cool lol
Huh, well I'll be... and here I thought that I was well versed in metal and rock bands just be floored by an artist that I haven't heard of. Ooh snap that was awesome, definitely going to check out more of these guys. Thanks heaps
how have you only just heard of Skindred ;-; im seeing them live tomorrow!
Toilet squad on deck
Going to see them for the 7th time later this year! Awesome live! Here comes the imperial march skindred style!
Hey, y’all are the shit!! You guys react to shit that no one reacts to. Mad love from Minnesota.
-Kyle L
I was just recently turned on to this band. Honestly I listen to them every day now. I enjoyed your reaction.
when mike patton wins this week can you do tomahawk god hates a coward in the next round
I remember kid me listening to this in the soundtracks of Need for Speed, I always tried to repeat it over and over while driving around town
I’m loving this channel
keep on rockin in the freeworld!
Devildriver - The Mountain
I like this band, they even were here in Hungary a small ass event in a basially village sized "city" a few years ago...
Love the fusing metal rap
Hes so welsh it's crazy, its a really good put on
This was the fucking soundtrack to maaaany nights just getting blazed.
Love it hit hard great bet
Ww seen them open for sevendust and disturbed about 13 years ago they blew the house down made bith desturbed and sevendust look lame and then the singer after he warmed us up for sevendust jumped off stage and walked around drinking beers and talked to people we even talked to him it was awesome!!
At the time they called themselves REGGAE METAL
Skindred Is the best band i listening in my Brazilian life. Please, listen More songs: Pressure, Start First, cutdemm, Doom Riff AND some much more!!! I like your video, guys!!!!
Not only are Skindred still making m
killer albums, but they also put on one of the best live shows ever so watch a live vid next time and type in 'Newport Helicopter'. They are actually Welsh, although Benji the singer has Jamaican heritage
Benji Webbe is the lead singer, he is actually Welsh. I got to meet him when they opened for Sevendust. He is one of my favorite lead singers. I have seen them 5 times in concert. Every concert was worth it.
Check out Hed PE, they mix metal, rap, reggae, punk, and everything else you can think of all in the same song and they make it work every time.
ABOUT TIME
The first half of the name, "skin," implies a sensual element, just as much as it hints at the band's multi-cultural make-up. The second half, "dred," literally infuses one of the group's most prominent visual aspects, namely lead singer Benji Webbe's dreadlocked mane, into their title. The word also can be taken to mean "dread," an adjective that aptly fits their metal style. Finally, the word "kindred" emerges from between the two halves, expressing their Marley-esque sense of peace, love and unity. And all of this comes from one, two-syllable word. It's direct, yet deeply layered, exactly like the band itself.
Good job guys keep em coming
Amazing band. I'm in love and it's not even Friday. Alternative Metal for sure.
I'm a fellow writer guys. Funny , I know this song. Cant wait to see yalls reaction. My band was called Nobody. The joke was nobody came, nobody played and nobody got paid 🤪
I do my best writing at night.
And I have watched yall while on the toilet. Keep it up guy . Truth. I only follow three or 4 channels and yall are my favorite. Deuces
"Bruises" is my fav song from them. Same album, good stuff.
Y'all wanna hear a bangin crossover, check out "Prejudice" by Soulfly (Max Cavalera from Sepultura). The Brazilian rooted metal with Benji's voice and Max's primal scream is phenomenal!
So happy to see some Welsh legends on here
These were truly good times.
I went to watch this on my way to the toilet... but my phone was near death so I charged it first lol
seen them live a few times great band.
Skindred were huge part of Welsh metal scene with funeral for a friend and bullet for my valentines who all experimented with diffrent styles of music also please react to funeral for a friend-this years most open heartbreak
Such an underrated band!! You should check out acouple of songs from the band GOD FORBID from Camden, NJ. The songs are "End of the World" and "The Fallen Hero". Another very talented African American frontman in the metal scene. You will be satisfied.
Brand new Skindred single and music video just dropped! We’d love to see a reaction to this 🤩 Check out Skindred - Set Fazers here: ruclips.net/video/_TYTG2QmhKc/видео.html
These guys actually opened at the first concert I ever went to. Skindred and All That Remains were opening for Disturbed. It was my first time ever hearing Skindred play and they started with this damn song and HOLY SHIT man.
A circle pit formed within the mosh pit almost immediately and Benji (Skindreds vocalist) spent the next 6 songs hyping the ever living shit out of the crowd. I honestly thought their performance was better than Disturbeds as far as crowd control and energy was concerned.
Skindred put on a helluva live performance and if you ever get the chance to see 'em guys? TAKE IT!!!
Yay finally! Awesome band!!!
Cant believe I missed this one. Skindred is my favorite band of all time
I'd love to see you dudes react to Black Tongue Second Death. That should raise your metal bar a few notches!
Porra, ressuscitou minha infância, ganhei muita corrida ouvindo essa música, NFS underground 2 é nostalgia ❤🇧🇷
Some of their songs are bangers, but sometimes it doesn’t work as well. Be forewarned. Pressure was a good one, so was Selector.
Here we goooooo
