My husband is a coal miner country boy. We live and were born and raised in WV. We have flooding and storms all the time, not to this extent. I can guarantee you, if there is a storm, he’s out there with his chainsaw cutting up downed trees and helping our neighbors. Country boys can survive! Bless all our Southern neighbors during this time. We are praying for all
    Of you. ❤🇺🇸❤️

Heavenly Father, Yahweh, Creator so divine,
We come before You, seeking truth in line.
As Jesus told Simon, now Peter, the Rock,
The foundation of His Church, a solid block.
We come before You with heavy hearts for the families and communities affected by Hurricane Helene. Lord, the storm’s devastation has swept through so many places, from Florida to the Carolinas, leaving towns underwater and homes destroyed. We lift up in prayer those who have lost loved ones, those who are missing, and those whose lives have been turned upside down by this disaster. Protect them, Lord, and surround them with Your love and comfort.
We ask for Your mighty hand to be over the emergency workers and all those risking their lives to bring relief and aid to those in need. Strengthen them in their efforts, and protect them from harm as they work tirelessly in these dangerous conditions. Lord, please let the waters recede, and let Your mercy calm the storms in our hearts.
We know that in all things, You are present, even when we cannot see or understand. Your Word reminds us in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Let this truth bring peace to those who are suffering, and assure them that even in this chaos, Your plan remains sovereign.
Father, restore hope where it has been lost. Help families to find strength in You, and let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted. May Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds, and may they feel Your presence guiding them through these dark times. And now, Lord, I pray as Your Son taught us to pray:
Our Father who art in heaven,
      Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
      And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
      But deliver us from evil.
      For Thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory,
      Forever and ever.
We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ,
      Amen. 🙏

Thank you, Jesus, that He brought an angel to take my daughter back to her mom's home for a couple of days until she could get rerouted to join up with family in Charlotte, NC, and then on to Greenville. Faith really tested on all our family. God is good!

@HelenePerez-r9d Are you really asking people to starve themselves after a devastating hurricane? Sorry Honey. We already starving. And you want us to just clasp our hands together, hit our knees, and say a few magical words in asking for forgiveness?
Look I get it. I know how this sounds. But you've got to understand that prayer might work for the gullible. But hard work gets shit done. Not your prayers.
But let me guess, the hurricane was mankind's fault. Right? I thought so. Shame.

I heard the area affected is over 600 mile radius. this is just so devastating. officials are saying that we may never find some of the missing.

Heartfelt prayers are going out for all affected by this devastating storm system. The photos reminded me of the similar devastation that hurricane Camille rought on Nelson County, Va, after it became a tropical depression and stalled over the mountains there on August 19, 1969. 114 people died & 37 remain missing today. I was 11 years old then & live in an adjoining county. The damage that we saw months later was unbelievable, so it was impossible to imagine living through it. In my teens, I read the book 'Torn Land' about that time. When I was 20, I became friends with someone who grew up there and was in high school when it happened. Her stories were heartbreaking. As far as survival mode goes, old school ways are always the best. I love real maps! And as the song goes, " A country boy can survive."

The mountains that had completely slid to the bottom taking homes and people was something I will never forget. At that time it was the biggest disaster we had seen because we didn’t even have a TV until I was eighteen. With TV and internet now we see things almost as they happen and one of the worst things about it with all the technology today we still see how slow and unprepared the government is to help especially people in the cities. Mountain people can survive if the storm don’t get them because they spent most of their life learning how to survive off whatever the land provides. Cash, ATM cards are like a UNO card when there is no electricity. Stay prepared and pray.

I'm just south of Savannah, Georgia (born in Monroe, LA ... Hey y'all!
😊🤚) and we got Helene and four tornadoes in my county, two of them over our town. This was the scariest hurricane I have ever seen. My husband and I went out at 3am to check damage and I was so afraid from the noise that I said The Lord's Prayer right then and there. I did a salt prayer and salt sacrifice to God around my entire property and buildings on my property the day before the storm. God said that we the faithful are the salt of the earth and salt is a covenant between us and God. This is the second hurricane I have done this for and God has blessed us abundantly with no hurricane damage. The hurricane before this one, we were going to evacuate to Huntsville, Alabama, but we decided to ride out the storm with our animals. That hurricane was headed straight for our town, Richmond Hill, and it went completely around us and Savannah and across the state of Georgia and hit Huntsville, Alabama. God blesses those who stay faithful to Him. We are blessed and praying for those who have damage or lives lost in Helene.

I work in Nashville.. we had quite a few car wrecks . But to give a testimony of God's leading the night it hit our area... I have a pretty riged routine I do as well as my nightly prayers.. one is of course for traveling mercies and God def was ordering my steps that night. I was feeling a little out of sorts so I slowed down from my usual hectic pace and that prevented me from being in a head on collision! The time was mere minutes but if I would have left when I usually do it would have been me in the head on collision!!! I am a female security guard at a local hospice and love my job! Our little country church lost the Sunday school side due to a tree through the roof. and is still without power but we are providing care for others as much as possible- my husband and I have opened our home for others to get a hot meal showers and laundry. He is running his tractor and chain saw to clear trees until he cannot see outside. I go out to drag limbs in between house duties . I’m tired but soooooo blessed. We live in Southwestern Ohio. We were visited by Hurricane Helene starting Friday. My county experienced 180,000+ without power and it’s Monday and some still don’t have it. We had trees and tree limbs crash on our fence and punch a hole in our roof. One tree took the power line down across the street snapping two telephone poles. It’s crazy! We have flooding in the lower parts of Greene County. It’s still raining today. It started on Friday. Though it isn’t anywhere near as bad as down south. This storm huge and did damage all the way up the country. I’m sorry everyone is having to deal with this and I’m praying for you all. Stay safe.

Living here in NC I have seen numerous hurricanes. As everyone knows the storm surge hit the beaches hard. The rain and winds hit the interior areas. This storm like others had rain events before the winds. The ground was saturated and the winds topple the trees. The hills only hold so much water before they slide. I drive the Asheville Blue Ridge parkway area all the time beautiful but very heavily built with homes. I suspect the roads and roofs don’t allow the water to sink into the ground and with the river and creeks being next to each other the roads become large rivers. This storm became a tropical depression stalled by a high pressure system from the west. There was several days of notice the the National Hurricane Center but peeps including my son decided to ignore the warning and calls from others. He spent the night at a Ingles in Blacksburg with some good people. One from Marion kept and eye on him. Thank You! Ingles handed out food and water. Let’s hope the people from all the affected areas are able to get back on their feet soon. It looks like a lot of areas of the areas of the USA are coming together to lift these folks back up maybe this will be the start to unite everyone in the USA from the political and other divisions!

The thing about about natural disasters is after mourning the losses; life goes and it must! People need to look around and see what worked and what didn’t so the next time the same type of event happens we are better prepared. The Navajo talk about the need for planning in living the “Beauty Way”. These disasters point out the weak spots in infrastructure, actions and lack of planning. Seems building and rebuilding in the same flood prone areas may be an issue. Seems EV vehicles need a method to charge solar, wind or electric grid. They also need a road. Seems these same vehicles can be used as a power source at the house or camp. Internal combustion engine cars need gas and roads. Gas stations need power, tanker trucks and roads to supply customers. Try plugging your electronics into your ICE vehicle. Cell phones are the most common form of communication and need power to work. The cell towers also appear to need power to work . Seems there is no backup power for the towers in many areas. Seems that without power, vehicles and long distance communications people can still live and have commerce in difficult times if they have a hard currency like the dollar. It is a little bit difficult to share digital currencies without electricity or to machine a few grams from a silver or gold bar when there are hundreds of people waiting for the same service. Seems there are a lot of failure points for disasters and many opportunities for the future if we take the time to look and plan. Something to be learned from the Native American people and I bet the Ancient civilizations if we take the time to look!!!

Alan and Lisa - I connected with y'all big time just now - it's a long story, but my husband suddenly became critically ill in May with a rare and aggressive lymphoma. His daily Bible verses three separate times began with "you will win". It's the only time, before or since, that he got those exact words. Many times I would start to feel overwhelmed with terror, like y'all did during the Storm. But I would think about God's messages to Greg, and just believe, like a child, like Jesus taught us to believe. And the terror would recede. Sometimes though it didn't really recede. On top of the storm, now we have the port of Baltimore possibly shutting down. If that happens the first thing to go will be gas. Without the gas, nothing else will be available either. That includes food and medicines. The government knew this was probably going to happen and they did nothing to help the American ppl prepare. The media said nothing until yesterday. For some reason, Diddy is more important than the lives of American people.
My prayers are with all of my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus that are dealing with the storm issues and missing or loss family. There is a dark cloud over the entire of America. God has a plan for his children, but we need to be on our knees in repentance and prayer. God Bless and keep all in his arms.

I am from Western North Carolina and most of my family are living in the areas most damaged in the storm, I am heartbroken for the people who are waiting to hear about family and friends and Erwin Tennessee my family are all safe there 🙏 💔 God's love is pouring out through the people 🙏 😢 💔 I lived on Careys Flat at Avery county and so many good neighbors who have lost love one's and everything they worked a lifetime for, my family in Macdowell County and Burke county some we still don't know about, 🙏 so heartbreaking

I live in NJ where Sandy hit bad. We were out of our school for 18 months. My school is hoping to help a school when they're ready. I'm praying that God will connect me with someone at the right time. I know it's too soon for "stuff" bcuz there's no place to put it. It feels like ptsd remembering.

    I’m in NC
I tried to get bottled water but was sold out but had water available for delivery for $17.99 a case plus $7.99 for shipping and handling!! I’ve been boiling water through the coffee pot. A tree fell across my home Thursday morning, sounding like a bomb went off!! It also smashed the electrical panel outside!! I had to find an electrician to repair the damage & the county had to inspect the repairs then Duke Power got out message that everything was repaired!! Duke finally came out yesterday to reconnect the power. It was a huge mess but thankfully no one was hurt. Prayers for all those affected!!
